Preview October’s Free Game Lineup
Update: We know many of you were looking forward to playing the promised PS Plus Edition and we are truly sorry for the delay. Our first priority is to provide you with the best possible experience while playing DRIVECLUB. With the high volume of new players and additional server load the PS Plus Edition is anticipated to bring, we are currently not confident that we can guarantee the best online experience. Until we can ensure that everyone can enjoy the full social connected online experience, we will be postponing the release of the PS Plus Edition until further notice.

For the past two months, PlayStation Plus members have received a couple games free the day they hit the PlayStation Store, and this time we’re besting ourselves by offering three! Yep, this month Dust: An Elysian Tail (PS4), Spelunky (PS4) and Pix the Cat (PS Vita) will debut on the Store as well as in PlayStation Plus. On top of that, there’s a special bonus this month – members get DriveClub PlayStation Plus Edition (if you want to upgrade to the regular retail version you can for $49.99), which gives them access to 11 tracks, 10 cars and all the game modes. Finally, members will receive the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum as well as Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara and Rainbow Moon.

PS4 owners can check out the Metroidvania-inspired Dust: An Elysian Tail, as well as the hit platformer Spelunky — which also entitles you to the PS3 and PS Vita versions. On PS3, our members can see where the Arkham franchise started with Batman: Arkham Asylum, as well as enjoy a bundle of classic arcade Dungeons & Dragons games with Chronicles of Mystara. For your PS Vita, we’ve got a new addictive arcade game for you in the same vein as Snake and Pac-Man called Pix the Cat and a beautiful, epic strategy RPG Rainbow Moon.

All of these games will be free for Plus members starting October 7th. Watch the video below to see these titles in action.

  • I’ve added all but DRIVECLUb to my download List…. Is Rainbow Moon not supposed to be cross buy?

  • When will we get this games, its already octoboer! and already the 7’th ! wtf?!

  • I bought Rainbow moon when it louched on the ps3, and now I wanted to play it on vita, but i cant have the bundle for free, becouse I own the ps3 version, so becouse I bought the game I cant get it for free on my ps plus?!

  • Oh great more Batman. When we get a big brand title can it not be sporty or Batman? Can we get something a bit older or weirder instead of more adventure games we might already own on disc from yard sales? At least I’m getting D&D, Spelunky, and that Rainbow Moon thing to keep me satiated this month…

  • And Driveclub? where is thie bonus game in the store, i can find it

  • The PS Store team aims for 2pm Pacific (5pm Eastern, etc.) to have everything updated. Regardless, that’s when they generally put up the Store Update blog post.

Now, in my experience they don’t necessarily have all the content ready to go by that time. But do expect the post around that time, and for most content to be up on time. Check back a few hours after the post if the content you want isn’t ready. Or in extreme cases, maybe the next day.

    Hope that helps.

  • Why is Rainbow moon showing $14.99 for me?

  • Yeah, sometimes Sony isn’t the most diligent on getting the store updated in a timely manor. Something else they could improve on IMHO.

  • oddly enough the PS+ exclusive version of Driveclub is up now for $50

  • Any info on the release of driveclub ps plus edition? There are soooo many people flooding twitch and live asking the same question

  • Why does Driveclube not appear on the free games screen?

  • 4:44 here in va and still no driveclub ps plus edition for free…wtf

  • Glad I checked this board. I thought I was going nuts that I didn’t see the PS Plus Driveclub yet, but the discount for Plus is up and the full game is up. I guess I am waiting a bit more.

  • WTF why does Driveclub cost $50 now

  • Had to actively search for Rainbow Moon as it wasn’t in the free games section of ps plus and no sight of Driveclub other than the 49.99 version…

  • Why you no let us d/l DriveClub+ Sony?!1

  • So I could have pre-loaded Drive Club yesterday, I can buy the full version of Drive Club for $60 or I can buy the PS+ discounted full version for $50 but the PS+ free version is nowhere to be seen. Not only is it not anywhere on the store now but the link that was there (which coincidentally returned a “Content not available” message) has been taken down. I pre-ordered my PS4 specifically for Drive Club and this debacle just gets worse and worse. What Sony announced as a free game upon the launch of the PS4 has turned into the proverbial carrot in front of our noses.
My loyalty to Sony is officially gone.

  • PLz hurry up and post up Drive Club ps plus edition. Gettin sick and tired of Destiny, i already beat it and conquered the crucible. I LOL’d so hard when Bungie said you will never finish the game…HA!!! how can you finish something that is unfinished ?? on top of trying to sell us the rest of the game….i hate Activision, they are trying to destry bungie so their call of poopy games stay on top… DRIVE CLUB PLS, NOW!

  • I can’t get Rainbow Moon and Drive Club Plus, someone with same issue?

  • I see when folks can’t find what you promise, Kristine, you vanish! And Sony makes headlines about losing business, except on PS4, so now you can help eliminate that profit center by doing nothing when there is an issue.

  • Uh, where is Rainbow Moon for the ps3????

  • Rainbow Moon is there, do a search in the store on your PC and look up rainbow moon and you will see cross buy bundle, that one is free and gives you the ps3 + vita game. There is also a free DLC.

  • So where is my damn free Drive Club? I don’t see it anywhere on the store…

  • Bevdad, To be fair they never leave comments after the first 5-10 messages. They post a few responses and then do other “more important” stuff. They never come back to handle business professionally.

  • Im trying to download Rainbow Moon on my vita, but the only option available is “Buy now” instead of “Download” since I am a ps plus member. I was able to download Pix the cat free of charge. Does anyone know how to solve this? Thank you

  • Hey guys. I just recently tried downloading these games but i cant find rainbow moon or driveclub.
    Please help would be great!

  • And where’s Driveclub??? SHAME ON YOU SONY

  • @PharticusMaximus

“Rainbow Moon is there, do a search in the store on your PC and look up rainbow moon and you will see cross buy bundle, that one is free and gives you the ps3 + vita game. There is also a free DLC.”

Yes you we’re right about the bundle, but where is this free DLC you speak of???
The only thing in the bundle is the PS3/PS VITA versions of the games and the unlock key for the PS3 version.

  • Thumbsofsteel74:

… and then there’s the guy in the middle who acts like he’s above it all, even though he pays dedicated attention to both sides. The guy who can’t tell the difference between constructive criticism and disruption. Strangely, he enables the latter while simultaneously condemning the other side, suggesting communist leanings inspire their standards, because, of course, nobody could be simply annoyed with the witlessness the majority of today’s gamers exhibit. That guy is quite silly.

  • Where’s DRIVECLUB ?

  • Uh, Rainbow Moon is missing? What’s up with that?

  • > “Rainbow Moon is there, do a search in the store on your PC and look up rainbow moon and you will see cross buy bundle, that one is free and gives you the ps3 + vita game

I did that and the only thing that is ‘free’ are the demos.

  • I see what the screwup is. The crossbuy bundle which is supposed to be free is not listed on the Canadian store.

If I do not signin to my plus and visit the US store then its listed (but not free since not signed in to plus account). If I sign in however I get transfered to the ‘ca’ version of the store and… yep… its gone.

    This is @$#%#$% ****!

  • dont see driveclub

  • The PS Store hasn’t been properly updated it seems. The only way to download Rainbow Moon is to do a search and Driveclub is nowhere to be found :(

  • Kristine Steimer – “All of these games will be free for Plus members starting October 7th. Watch the video below to see these titles in action.”

Ok so that means that we should all be expecting DriveClub PS+Edition on the 7th.

People are getting their fires lit and heading to the hardware store for pitchforks. This is more the principle of it, It just goes to show the lower excitement level that old indies and 5 year old games engender when a deluxe demo is by far the most exciting offering for the month.

I would like to try it for myself and I have wasted a bunch of time getting the updates today. It’s annoying.

74 on metacritic with 43 reviews, not exactly what I was hoping for after a year delay.

  • @Persimony

Rainboy moon crosssave bundle, is on the Canadian store, that is ultimately how I was able to get it, I went in the ps3 storefront and then was able to download either the reg or the discounted version for ps vita. The pc SEN should allow you to queue the entitlements the same way.

Just waiting for the DriveClub+ edition. As usual the updates are done in a sloppy unclear manner.

What is most unprofessional is to do the store update, and the content on the storefronts and not explain the delay of the racing demo. They obviously knew it wasn’t up, and they knew people were waiting to hear about it.

It makes me feel it is intentional to get more PS+ 49.99 sales for people that don’t want to wait all day to hear.

We deserve better than that obtuseness.

  • Couldn’t agree more with Skeetlejuice. Epic fail Sony. When a demo is the most anticipated title for the month and then it’s not available after waiting all day, that’s pretty sad. Take a page from a drug dealer. “Here’s a sample of crack” “glad you enjoyed it, here it is for the full price”. Not the other way around… Basic supply and demand.

  • Hmmm … canny find the free version of DriveClub, only the discounted version :( .. am I missing something (PS4)

  • Nope, that’s what we’re saying.. They haven’t made it available yet.

  • Very clever Sony… But you will get no impulse buy from me. :P

  • Ok, Rainbow Moom now is on store (by web), but Driveclub not yet!

    Link to Rainbow Moom:

    https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-us/games/rainbow-moon/cid=UP2005-NPUB30434_00-RAINBOWMPS3STORE

  • You’ve got one hour Sony before you’ve officially lied to everyone on the East Coast.

  • so it sys drive club is free on this blog but when you go onto the store from.the console it only has the opportunity for ten bucks cheaper i find that dumb tell me if im wrong

  • To be fair, they said “starting on October 7th”…. So it could be at the end of the month, could be next month. Maybe they meant next October.

  • Not wrong, there is supposed to be a ps+ version that is smaller/a demo of the game. It appears that they have tried a little marketing trick. Get users excited and then not allow them to try it, just offer a version that’s $10 off… I’m on to you Sony.

  • How about at least some acknowledgement regarding ps plus driveclub?
Acting as the ps plus version of driveclub does not exist is really disappointing attitude from psn and the lack of acknowledgement insulting.
    Bad customer relations.

  • What’s up with claiming driveclub PS+ edition is free and then charging 50 dollars for it?
It’s not even the full retail game. You still have to pay to upgrade it.

That and Harvest Moon is showing up as 14.99 for me on vita since I already bought it for ps3.

  • @ 497

The $50 version is the full game. The free version is not up yet. Also it’s Rainbow Moon not Harvest Moon that’s free.

  • Where do I get Information about release dates around the world?
