Which Wheels Work with Driveclub?
Update: We know many of you were looking forward to playing the promised PS Plus Edition and we are truly sorry for the delay. Our first priority is to provide you with the best possible experience while playing DRIVECLUB. With the high volume of new players and additional server load the PS Plus Edition is anticipated to bring, we are currently not confident that we can guarantee the best online experience. Until we can ensure that everyone can enjoy the full social connected online experience, we will be postponing the release of the PS Plus Edition until further notice.

For a while now, racing fans have been asking for details on which wheels Driveclub will support when it hits stores on October 7th. That time has finally come!

Our goal is to bring out the racer in everyone – so we’ve worked hard to make the driving fun and challenging for you, not only on DualShock 4 but also on all of the wheels currently compatible with PS4.

We’ve been working really closely with Thrustmaster on their new T80 & T300RS wheels, to make sure that they’re perfectly tuned for Driveclub and PS4. Who doesn’t love to lock their thumbs into a good racing wheel and get lost in the moment, believing that they’re pro drivers?!

In fact, we’ve actually spent time with pro drivers recently and we got to see what they could do behind the wheel of a Thrustmater T300RS in DRIVECLUB! It was epic to see Sebastian Loeb acing almost every corner of an epic downhill point-to-point route set in Canada and naturally set one of the fastest lap times we’ve ever seen – on his first go.

We hope to support more from Thrustmaster and other providers, as more wheels hit the shelves for PS4. We can’t wait for you all to get your hands on it and we’ll see you all on the track on October 7th.

  • I really want to buy this game, but G-27 must be supported.

  • No G27 support on PS4? Then i’ll pass every single racer game.

I prefer to play them on my PS3 ;)

    Such a shame Sony ….

  • Hi,

please, could you confirm that Thrustmaster TH8A shifter and T3PA pedals with clutch are supported?

    Thank you.

  • Some gamers have some really unrealistic expectations wanting a brand new release for free through ps plus. You do realize you pay about $5 a month for ps plus don’t you? And each month you get at least 6 total games FREE a month. That’s less than a dollar per game. You can’t even get a game for your phone for that cheap. You people are waaay out of line expecting a company to develop a full retail $60 game which probably took at least 2 years and millions of dollars and man hours to develop and day 1 you want it free? You are all a group of clowns.

  • so I ‘m not going to play with my g27 and when that sony will upgrade to run the logitech g27 I just have her please let sony g27 compatible until the release of drive club .

  • I would buy a PS4 to play Gran Turismo 7, I would buy Drive Club if I had a PS4.. I will be buying nothing if my Logitech G27 is not supported.

I’m not buying a new wheel, and I’ve no interest in playing a racing game without a wheel. Get it sorted or lose customers, simple.

  • I really want to see the video of Sebastien Loeb playing this game! Please, PlayStation?!

  • I tracked this topic for about few months sony. Wanted to buy PS4 for Driveclub and Project Cars. These short tortuous answers made me realize u wanna make us fools and spend 400€ for compatible wheel. Why If I have Logitech G27 fully functional and PLAYSEAT and it didn’t cost 50€? NO logitech means no buying PS4 and no DRIVECLUB. You helped me to make decision to sell PS3 and buy good PC for Project Cars. I will not spend fortune for accessories to change them in 3 years. I”M NOT STUPID SONY.

  • No G27 = No game!!!!!

  • No DFGT Logitech support? No at DC, PCars and every other single game.
I’ll keep my PS3 only. Shame on you, Sony!!! We are not lemons to be squeezed.

  • I spent a lot on my G27… Now its useless. I won’t be buying a PS4 because of this! I’ll just play GT6 on PS3 until the online gets killed. Then I’m buying a PC and ProjectCars!!

    Sort it out Sony!!!

  • I don’t like to speculate… But only Thrust master support… Has somebody gone and signed an exclusivity deal?!?

  • Just read on a different website the G27 lacks a chip that would make it compatible with the ps4. So the G27 will never be supported on the ps4. Sorry about your luck G27 owners

  • I’m with everyone else on this one. No support for Logitech wheels= no support for any racing game. Hope this is taken care of by the time the Turismo franchise hits PS4. Seems whomever can support the wheels first will have a big seller!

  • That’s a NO NO for me. I better keep playing Outrun 2006 in my PlayStation 2 with my Driving Force GT.
I bet it’s more fun than your stupid game with a dual shock 4.

  • i want to know if the Thrustmaster T500RS is going to work on the ps4? and with this game thanks!

  • no 27 = no Driveclub,project cars etc

  • No Logitech support?
    It’s really a shame!

I am waiting a long time to finally play a racing game on PS4 and I can’t use my Logitech DFGT on it.
    It’s stupid!
    At any excuses!

Anyone who played with wheels know that play racing games on a controller really sucks!

I WON’T BUY DRIVECLUB OR ANY OTHER RACING GAMES UNTILL I CAN USE MY WHEEL ON IT!

Evolution, Logitech and Sony just DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS, NOW!

  • NO LOGITECH = NO DRIVECLUB

Just to report, 3 friends of mine just cancelled the pre-order at the store.

I am just thinking all the hard work that Evolution put into the DriveClub game and just checking the game won’t sell even close that it could hit after that terrible notice about no Logitech wheel will be supported.

  • Cancelled my pre-order of Driveclub as well. Sickening that Sony made this exclusive deal with thrustmaster. Logitech wheels work with PS2 and PS3 so why not on PS4? what a joke!

  • Disappointing. Was excited about this but, again, no Logitech support means no purchase from me either. I hope this changes soon.

  • Another vote from me to support the Logitech gt driving force pls.

  • It would be nice to work with Logitech to update the G27 Racing Wheel to work with the PlayStation 4

  • I already have Force GT and G27 for ps3 . and none of them are working on PS4 .

Devs must talk with SONY so they can find a solution. They losing customers and these are money. if they dont care about geting more money , its ok for me.

  • I’ll spend the money I would spend on a PS4 + new wheel on upgrading my PC. IS it around 700 Euros??
Lol. don’t even need that much. I only need a new Motherboard and CPU.

Bye bye sony. Will see what you do next generation…

  • Please let Sony know that your games will be heavily reduced by not supporting the Logitech wheels (G25, G27, DFGT, and DFP)

They negotiated the required contracts when they made the PS3 and they are completely able to do the same with the PS4 – yes they may have to pay a large sum to Immersion, but if they would have handled that pre-release of the PS4 there would be a lot more happy Sony customers.

There must have been a group that calculated out the cost to pay for the contract, benefits of a contract with Thrustmaster, and the loss of sales due to the lack of Logitech wheel support… it sucks that it came to no supporting Logitech wheels.

The Thrustmaster T300 is not out yet in the USA .. the T80 has no force feedback .. and the T100 is known to have reliability issues and only has about 270deg rotation.. so don’t expect wheel users to support Driveclub any time soon.

  • Won’t purchase until the ps4 supports my expensive Logitech wheel.

  • “1.39 “PS3” means all versions of the computer game Console marketed and distributed by the Sony Entities under any of the marks “PLAYSTATION 3,” “playstation 3,” or “PS3,” or any other marks substantially similar to the foregoing, that natively runs Games specifically designed for the original “PLAYSTATION 3” computer entertainment platform as first released in each respective country. PS3 does not include PSP, PS1 or PS2 or any other gaming platform.”

Sony will have to pay Logitech, and Logitech will have to pay Immersion Corp. to get this wheel to work. Sorry guys, Logitech and Sony are no longer partners since many years ago if I remember correctly.

  • No support for one of the most popular and arguably one of the best force feedback wheels, then I have no reason to buy any racing games on PS4.

    Bring support for Logitech G27.

  • Very lame, cancelled pre-order. Also, claiming a wheel ‘needs to support PS4’ is bass ackwards. It works fine on the PS3, you should know exactly how to talk with it, USB is USB. The fact that I need to buy a second wheel = no sale. These things are ridiculously expensive for a single game.

  • No other wheels = Wont buy it!

  • Still no commitment to the Logitech G27? Sorry, that’s a deal breaker… I have a feeling those PS4’s would fly off the shelves if you resolved this. Wait for each G27 owner to buy the console, trustmaster wheel, pedal set, shifter, and the game itself to equal what we are used to on the PS3, but on the next gen? That’s over $1,000, well over… Sorry P.C. might be a better choice. We’re waiting….

  • This is as stupid as not having support for the PS3 bluetooth headsets on PS4.

What’s the point of buying ANOTHER wheel only for the PS4? Should we just throw ours away?

No 3rd party wheels = no drive club :)

  • Will I be able to steer by tilting DualShock 4 (motion sensors)?

  • No Logitech Driving Force GT, free PS+ version only. I don’t care who is responsible, but I am not paying more than it costs for a PS4 to get a decent wheel. For that kind of money I will build my own PC and play racing games on that. If this is not fixed PS4 racing games are Dead on Arrival

  • please add logitech support

Evolution Studio : “Col Rodgers, Game Director on upcoming PS4 racing game DriveClub, has confirmed all current commercial racing wheels compatible with PlayStation 3 will also be fully compatible with PlayStation 4.”

    please add logitech support

  • I’m extremely disappointed that the hundreds of dollars I spent on a PS3 racing wheel will no longer work with my PS4. I can’t believe you expect me to spend that $ all over again, just for the want of a chip. I’ve no doubt the wheel can work with the PS4, it’s just that Sony as decided they are not going to allow it to work.

  • It is impossible that you can get the money from me without the support to Logitech wheels!

  • Yeah, I hear you guys. I spent $1200 on my G27 and Playseat setup, I am not about to play on a DS4.

  • I completely understand why the G27 isn’t yet supported…. its more of a Sony issue than an Evolution Studios issue so I can’t fault you. I, like many others have a G27 and enjoy racing with it… However, it is best used on games like iRacing and maybe project cars. I will still try this game out with the DS4 because using a wheel on arcade racers just doesnt feel right.

Heres to hoping online is clean and lag / latency free. I think they nailed the penalty system when it comes to fools online wrecking everyone in their path.

  • Poor DriveClub!! Not gonna play this game ’til my Logitech G27’s supported.

  • No g27 support means a no buy for drive club for me as well.. This is a 1st party game so stop trying to tell us we have some other entity to blame…

  • All this talk about “the security chip” is just a poor excuse, it is only required for native out-of-the-box functionality with PS4. The game developers are free to implement support for any wheel they want.

So this smells like an exclusive deal with Thrustmaster.

  • Just wanted to add my voice to this. I was seriously considering buying this, but the lack of support for the logitech wheels is making me stick with the free PS+ version. Seriously Sony, how many more comments do you need?

  • It’s the same for me. As long as they don’t support G27 or any other Logitech wheel (I also own a DFGT), I won’t buy any games. Hell I won’t even buy the PS4, I wanted to pick one up tomorrow for DriveClub, but now that won’t happen either.

Copping out on 90% of racing game enthusiast is a big fail for Sony. And blaming it on some security chip is a cheap excuse. It can be little green aliens’ fault, for all I care, no G27 support means PS4 for me. I’m keeping my money, I hope it hurts you Sony.

  • Seriously. Without legacy Logitech support, I will not purchase any racing games. Period.

  • I just checked the supported wheels costs more than the PS4 itself, that’s just ridiculous. Do you really expect me to pay 1.5 PS4 worth of doe for a peripheral?

  • No Logitech. No buy. Not paying for a new wheel. They are crazy expensive and the fact that it’s not compatible with PS4 is a joke. If there isn’t a firmware fix for this then its just a HUGE disappointment.

  • Logitech Driving Force GT is a MUST HAVE! Cant wait to lay hands on DriveClub but not using a dualshock! Come on guys… put some pressure on Sony to support the GT.
