Which Wheels Work with Driveclub?
Update: We know many of you were looking forward to playing the promised PS Plus Edition and we are truly sorry for the delay. Our first priority is to provide you with the best possible experience while playing DRIVECLUB. With the high volume of new players and additional server load the PS Plus Edition is anticipated to bring, we are currently not confident that we can guarantee the best online experience. Until we can ensure that everyone can enjoy the full social connected online experience, we will be postponing the release of the PS Plus Edition until further notice.

For a while now, racing fans have been asking for details on which wheels Driveclub will support when it hits stores on October 7th. That time has finally come!

Our goal is to bring out the racer in everyone – so we’ve worked hard to make the driving fun and challenging for you, not only on DualShock 4 but also on all of the wheels currently compatible with PS4.

We’ve been working really closely with Thrustmaster on their new T80 & T300RS wheels, to make sure that they’re perfectly tuned for Driveclub and PS4. Who doesn’t love to lock their thumbs into a good racing wheel and get lost in the moment, believing that they’re pro drivers?!

In fact, we’ve actually spent time with pro drivers recently and we got to see what they could do behind the wheel of a Thrustmater T300RS in DRIVECLUB! It was epic to see Sebastian Loeb acing almost every corner of an epic downhill point-to-point route set in Canada and naturally set one of the fastest lap times we’ve ever seen – on his first go.

We hope to support more from Thrustmaster and other providers, as more wheels hit the shelves for PS4. We can’t wait for you all to get your hands on it and we’ll see you all on the track on October 7th.

  • @98 you are right.. I do remember reading that like almost 2 years ago.. Was trying to get my force feedback pro to work on win 7 and had a hell of a time finding drivers..

  • No T500RS? What a joke, well at least Project CARS is around the corner…Driveclub isnt even out and it sucks anyway…supporting two wheels? Are you kidding me? Well, good luck with that…

  • Well, if I have to get a new wheel because Logitech is no longer making console drivers, then I guess it has to happen. The T80 is not too expensive. I’m not buying the 300RS or 500.

So that’s the list that I can tell that are compatible…all Thrustmaster wheels:

    T80
    T300RS
    T500

No other wheel is compatible with PS4 at all since Logitech won’t do any updated drivers.

  • @101 the PS4 itself only supports these wheels because there are no drivers for anything else. Logitech is not making drivers anymore.

  • I’m with everyone no Logitech no buy I’m not dropping more cash on a wheel for one game. With over ten million ps4 sold you think Sony would shy away from more money grabbing. Heck don’t even think I’ll download the plus deal which isn’t much of one as it changed from free plus game to a free deluxe demo. Very disappointed Sony.

  • This is so depressing. I guess I should finally breakdown and get a good graphics card and do my racing on the PC where at least I know my expensive wheels will work.

  • Well this is disappointing. I was looking forward to finally using my Driving Force GT again since GT5.

  • You guys are kidding yourselves if you think Sony has any control over this issue. Sony would get sued if they straight up enabled it. Read my comments. Sony has NO RIGHT to make Logitech wheels work right now.

  • Common guys! No Driving force GT!? G25/27!?!? Plz make my dreams come true!

  • Logitech, Sony, Pope, it doesnt matter who u can blame. We just wanna to get some fun with our logitech weel :)

  • @110 so does anyone who has an accessory that is not supported anymore by the manufacturers. I don’t want to have to buy a new wheel either, but there’s not much that can be done about it. Logitech has pulled out of the business.

  • Yup, and Logitech straight up lied about the “chip”. There never was a chip needed. You only need a security chip for Xbox. Sony allows 3rd party accessories as long as the developer brews their own drivers to support it within the game.. which Evolution Studios can’t lawfully do if I’m not wrong.

  • I was expecting to find a list of wheels, not an advert for Thrustmaster.
Its absolutely disgusting that the Driving Force GT isnt supported. This is after all, an official Gran Turismo wheel. Are you seriously going to bring out GT7 at some stage and not allow support for a previously released official wheel? If so, then why should I buy a Thrustmaster when you will just bin that at some stage? Surely there is going to be a huge loss of sales with this stance. I wont be buying Driveclub, nor Project Cars, nor F1 next year, if my wheel isnt supported, and I aint buying another when I have a perfectly good one. Cant believe Sony have took this approach after the grief MS got with the 360.

  • @103 The T80 doesnt even have FFB. Will feel like a toy, even compared to a DFGT.

  • DFGT support!!!!

  • Interesting how War Thunder can support various wheels that Evolution claims won’t work. I was disappointed at the way this whole issue has been treated, but I was looking forward to the game nonetheless– but this update, for whatever reason, just makes everything worse. “Hey, we know you’ve been asking endlessly, for months, what wheels will work with DriveClub. Well, these new ones you have to buy definitely work!”

I’m not playing this game with a controller, and I’m not buying a new wheel to play it, either, when my GT Driving Force works perfectly fine on everything else (including War Thunder on PS4).

  • Be upset with Logitech not the drive club developers. So much hate over a game that looks great.

  • Someone see if the G25/27 works on War Thunder.

  • Is there any chance that Driveclub will have support for the Playstation Move Racing Wheel?

  • Simple… No Logitech G27, NO Driveclub.

  • You folks aren’t the only ones. There is no support for PS3 fighting sticks on PS4 either, and the good ones don’t come cheap. There’s no common precedent of previous generation racing wheels or joysticks being supported by next-gen consoles, so there really shouldn’t be that much surprise. Looks like a promise was made that couldn’t be kept.

  • One year… well more than that actually, considering planning, developing and manufacturing time to add not only Logitech Wheel support the PS4, but other wheel makers support is a sin and a shame honestly. All that time for both Sony, Logitech, and any other wheel makers to come together and iron out support… before or in the early stages of console launch.

Maybe we’ll get Logitech support when Polyphony ever partners with Logitech for Gran Turismo 7… in the year 2017. (delay times 7 coming out in 2019)

  • Its disappointing the companies couldn’t get a deal done to support the wheel that most of us bought for the PS3. I’m sure it all comes down to money and some incentive Thrustmaster has with sony. I’m not buying the t80 for $99 with no force feedback. I cant even find how much the t300 wheel costs or many details on it. I was really pumped to play Drive Club with my old Logitech Wheel. I had pre ordered this game but will now be canceling the order.

  • …and pre order is canceled

  • DriveClub order canceled.

I will not be forced to purchase a ThrustMaster product either.

    Great customer relations guys. SMH

  • Welp my last message seemed to not catch anyone’s eye so here it goes again with caps:

THE LACK OF G27 SUPPORT IS NOT DRIVECLUBS FAULT SO STOP COMPLAINING ON THESE COMMENTS. INSTEAD GO OVER TO LOGITECH’S SITE AND VOICE YOUR ANGER THERE. IT IS LOGITECH’S FAULT FOR NOT RELEASING DRIVERS FOR THE PS4. WITHOUT THEM THERE IS NOTHING THE DEVS OF DRIVECLUB OR ANY OTHER PS4 GAME CAN DO. YOU SHOULD BE MAD, YOU SHOULD BE ANGRY, BUT DIRECT IT IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION BECAUSE THE DRIVECLUB DEVS CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND QUITE FRANKLY THEY DONT DESERVE ALL THIS S***. I STRESS AGAIN, WE NEED TO GET LOGITECH TO RELEASE DRIVERS FOR PS4 BECAUSE WITHOUT THEM PS4 DEVS CANT DO ANYTHING

  • No G27 suport no Driveclub or any other racing game on PS4. That’s a shame

  • @126

Then DriveClub makers should talk with there partner(Sony) to get something worked out.

    Money talks.

Complaining on a forum is wishful thinking.

  • Hope Logitech support is added before Driveclub becomes not worth buying anymore due to other newer racing game options. Wanted this game so badly but not worth it at the moment.

  • The ever so slightly eternal optimist in me hopes that Logitech (other wheel manufacturer support) will be in the upcoming PS4 firmware 2.0. Maybe they can ninja add that in FW 2.0. Seems like they like to keep things on the hush hush anyways on a few things and only tout the major stuff.

Here is to wishing in one hand and crapping in the other. As I typed this, its like I’m typing in a tray of chili… and it smells rather unpleasant.

  • Not saying its Sonys fault, but it will be Sonys platform that loses the sale of every realistic driving game from me and apparently many other GT/G25/G27 owners unless they fix this with Logitech.

In fact I can say it Sonys fault. Either they care about lost sales of their games or they dont. Logitech already sold its wheels and has been the official wheel of a playstation flagship.

Personally, I dont care.I may prefer Sony, but ill go where I need to for the experience I want. And for racing, thats shaping up to be on my PC.

Fix it Sony. In the long run its worth it to YOU.

  • Sorry guys… No Logitech support, NO DC.

Maybe you don’t give a d*mn about what we think, but we are 12 friends from all over America wich were going to make a DC clan. And except ONE and ONE ONLY all of us have Logitech or Fanatec wheels…

And I can even see that you don’t bother to answer even …. Not a good sign.

We’ll enjoy the limited version, and then we’ll move away.

    Your fault.

  • @114 – you have any better idea? The T80 may not be as good as the DfGT, but I’m not going to buy the 300 or 500. Im not spending $300-600 for another wheel. I didn’t spend close to that for the DF.

But this is not Sony or Evolution’s fault. If you want to be mad, be mad that Logitech pulled out of the business. They aren’t making any drivers, so you’re not going to get wheels from them on PS4. Drive Club supports all wheels that are compatible with PS4. If Logitech won’t get on board, then there is nothing that can be done.

  • ” no support for my lil toy steering wheel!!!”….

Get off it geez. You know well enough they’ll work in all the biggest players in the wheel game, and you know you want it. If you believe in the product, then buy it, enjoy it, and soon down the line you’ll get the big pay off.

Kinda the reason we’re all early adapters of the PS4 anyway don’t cha think??? We’ve waited this long for Driveclub and its rdy to drop into our hands. Lets not let such minor details deter us from it.

  • I saw a couple people mentioning that they were disappointed because this game doesn’t (yet) support certain 3rd party driving wheels. While I totally understand that, I also noticed that some people were mad also because they couldn’t use their favorite wheel in Drive Club the sim racer/

There’s only one thing partially wrong with that viewpoint… DC is not a sim-racer. No one has ever claimed it to be a sim-racer similar to the likes of GT & Forza or even the upcoming Project Cars. And everyone who has played it also come out of it saying it’s somewhere in between an arcade/sim-racer. So just know that when you say you don’t want to try this game because you think it’s a sim-racer that you cannot use your favorite wheel add-on with, maybe reconsider at least trying the game because it’s in fact NOT a sim-racer and you don’t HAVE TO use a driving wheel.

  • I don’t even care for this lame game.
No logitech wheels support and they want to bring game to everyone what a joke.
In a few months it’s going to be free like all ****** game on ps+.

  • no logitech wheel support, look what happen to nfs rivals , no wheel support and sales drop!!! you devloper need to learn from other
company mistakes. so stop with the BS fix this problem!!!

  • DFGT Owner here. Sony/Logitech: would be nice to have a join statement to say who’s work should it be if even possible….

In the meantime, I found two devices: CronusMax and TitanOne (One derived from the other it seems), which allow for any controller to mimic the output of whatever you need (in this case, DFGT emulate a DS4). The DS4 is plugged for authorization.
But, no force feedback is supported, just rumble…

better than nothing, because shelving ~$400 for a new wheel sucks…

  • @zepified: Are you driving a 4 wheels vehicle in that game? yes? then we want wheel support.
Who gives a damn if it’s a “real” sim-racer or not? You don’t HAVE TO open your eyes when you play, but it’s way better when you do…

I used to not play any driving games (because I was bad at them). I then bought a DFGT and a Driving seat and a new world opened. I played NFS Most Wanted, Burnout Paradise, GT5, GT6, all the prior NFS and more on PS3 with my wheel.

I’ll try the PS+ edition of DC, for the sake of it. If my CronusMax makes it possible to use my DFGT with it, then I may play it a little longer.

I bought NFS Rivals on release, found out the wheels were not supported after buying it, sold the game back right away… Will never buy a NFS game ever again until Wheel support for Logitech Wheels. (or until whoever is giving me $400 to buy a thrustmaster)

  • Still no suport for G25. Oh well. I guess I’ll skip this Gen consoles and use those 400 Euros on buying a Motherboard and CPU to upgrade my PC and play games in better resolutions. Kinda sad because I like the console environment

  • Just another piece of info, the Logitech wheels don’t work with Xbox One either. This is not a Sony issue. Logitech has not made any drivers for next-gen consoles.

  • I heard the T100 works with Driveclub. Any truth to that?

  • @ArchAngeL-777

It is Sony’s issue. They suported it from the start on PS3. They just don’t want to suport it now. As they don’t want to suport PS3 controlers, even if PS4 can detect they are from PS3, so it knows what they are. This is just a way to sell new wheels. It seems like they have any type of agreement with thrustmasters to make them the only brand selling for PS4.

    Bad business. wont buy ps4

  • G25/G27 !!!

  • Total shame. Sony needs to clearly explain what is going on and why Logitech aren’t supported. My plan was to get a PS4 with Driveclub, but I won’t do that until this situation is sorted out.

  • It’s the most popular idea on their ideas sistem:

    https://share.blog.us.playstation.com/ideas/2014/05/20/ps4-compatibility-with-g25-steering-wheel/

I recon it’s something they should take care…

  • as pointed out earlier read the thread over at neogaf

    Guys, read post #107 (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=872483&page=3)

Logitech is out of the racing wheel business and will not pay $$ to license patents on a new platform for old hardware. You need to look at (blame) Logitech, Immersion before blindly spouting off at Sony and Evolution.

Someone on the thread pointed out that the Immersion patents in question expire in 2015, so we shall see.

  • Yup, no backwards comparability with wheels, no plans on buying the full game ever. For a console that finally has PC architecture, this is a complete embarrassment. Hell I still can’t even use my PS3/PC arcade on it.

  • Not buying this game till you guys support logitech. All my friends and I got G27 to Driving Force GT. This sucks waiting so long for this game and then another disappointment. You guys had more than enough time to make the steering wheels compatible.

  • Logitech G27 suppor or no buy. I wont return to regular controler and i wont drop $200 more to play racers on PS4. Sony, you should invest on Logitech compatibility as G27`s sttill selling and its a great wheel. Logitech is out but you can make this happen.
