PlayStation TV: Nearly 700 Games to Play Starting October 14th

With PlayStation TV’s launch right around the corner on October 14, I’m pleased to confirm that nearly 700 games will be available in the U.S. and Canada to play on PS TV on Day One, including established, popular franchises like Killzone: Mercenary, cult hits like Persona 4 Golden, and classics like Twisted Metal. In addition, I’m pleased to announce that Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom from Little Orbit will also be available in November for PS TV (as well as PS Vita). Our library will continue to expand, with other fan favorites like Minecraft and more. We’re proud to bring such a broad array of content from multiple PlayStation platforms to PS TV, a small console at a great value.

PlayStation TV

On October 14, you can pick up a PS TV starting at $99.99 (MSRP) for the standalone system, or $139.99 (MSRP) for the bundle that includes a Wireless Controller (DUALSHOCK 3), 8GB memory card, and The LEGO Movie Videogame. For a limited time, you can find an exclusive PS TV bundle at Walmart, which comes with everything in the PS TV bundle plus Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, also for $139.99 (MSRP).

PS TV has a large and diverse lineup of games for players of all types, including:

  • Persona 4 Golden
  • God of War Collection

PlayStation TV

PS TV plays select content from PlayStation systems past and present, including:

  • PlayStation Vita – PS TV plays select titles from PS Vita, which can either be downloaded to the device or inserted directly into the system using a PS Vita card.
  • PlayStation Classics – Download classic games from PS One and PlayStation Portable, like Wipeout and Twisted Metal.
  • PlayStation 3 – Our game streaming service PS Now is coming to PS TV, which will let you play many PS3 games on the device over the Internet*.
  • PlayStation 4 – If you’re a PS4 owner, use Remote Play to stream a remote play enabled PS4 game from your console to a PS TV over a wired internet connection. If the living room is tied up, just use Remote Play to send your PS4 game up to the bedroom and keep playing on PS TV.
  • *PS Now service may not be available in all areas. For details, see http://us.playstation.com/playstationnow

You can find more information on the games available for PS TV here: The list will continue to grow as our library expands, so stay tuned for more.

PlayStation TV may be a small platform, but it’s got a big PlayStation heart. We hope you get a chance to experience it when it launches in North America on October 14.

    • what about dual analog support for psp games? I think I remember seeing way back that certain psp games support the right analog stick on DS3 when played on PSTV

    • So, what apps are compatible with this? I’m thinking about getting this for my dad so he can use Netflix, Hulu+, and WWE Network. Is this basically the Vita for tv or is it something different?

    • Sorry, get back to me when more of the Vita Library is playable… such as the upcoming Tales of Hearts R.

    • So this can hook up to a computer, right? it doesn’t need anything? no cables that aren’t in the box, I just can hook it up, do the steps to get the systems hooked up and I am good to play Destiny and such on my computer instead of my TV? Also, does this support PS3, or just PS4 and Vita…

    • I own a vita and will own this can I play my vita and this at the same time since my son plays on the vita and you don’t support sub accounts on the vita will we run into device limits?

    • Can someone clarify for me, can I access the free games I’ve gotten for the Vita and PSP through my Playstation Plus account with this? At least the games compatible with the Playstation TV of course.

    • So if i buy it in the US will it work in europe?

    • I heard that the japanese version of the Vita TV didn’t accept PSN accounts from other regions.

Will the NA version have the same restriction, or can I use it with a japanese PSN account?

    • I am honestly surprised there is this much interest in this thing. Or really any interest at all.

    • So, you could have just given us the cable (that MANY people have been asking for) to hook the Vita up to a HDTV rather than charging us $100+ to do only a portion of what the Vita can. Lets hear that Sony chanting *sigh*

Oh, sorry, more Sony money grabbing. I guess with losing over 2 BILLION dollars you have to do what you can to get money from people. I mean, making good products at good prices and a gaming system that actually has good games is too much to ask. Such a shame. Bought the PS2, PS3, PSP, Vita – and I will not be falling into the trap again.

    • Even though Jeff Rubenstein has long since left PlayStation, I’m glad to see that all the Minis that he and his wife made are compatible.

    • With the playstation tv being wifi enabled; what is the range for remote play with the ps4? Is it possible to say being the vita to another location i.e. a friends house?

    • I know it doesn’t do this but have they thought of using your PS Vita as a controlller so you can play games like Uncharted on the big screen with the Vita’s touchscreen controls?

    • PS2 classics should be playable on Vita/PS TV.

    • of course you have to buy the damn games people…stop acting so stupid.this is the same thing as a playstation vita except that you connect it to your tv and has limited vita games compatibility.

    • can i twitch stream from playstation tv (vita games) if i have a capture card?

also im on walmart.com to preorder but it doesnt say anything about the walmart bundle . should i try online or just wait it out ?

    • Can someone explain the logic of making the WalMart Sly Cooper bundle $140? In Canada, the regular bundle is $100 and Sly Cooper is $25 or less, everywhere. Seems like someone at Sony does not understand economics.

    • @baconcow1812

in the usa the base unit is $99.99 the lego movie game bundle is $140 . the walmart bundle is supposed to be the lego movie game bundle PLUS sly for the same $140. its a extra free game in the usa at least

    • that being said , i still dont see anywhere on walmarts page that says this. and id hate to pre order the wrong one

    • Bring SOCOM back you noobs!

    • I wouldn’t even be able to play soul sacrifice delta on that thing… originally this was called ps vita tv and only support a few selected vita titles (and even has the vita card slot)… Why not just every single vita game?? Lazyness? What a scam sony -_-

    • I’m unable to find it anywhere, but does this require a monthly subscription, PS+, or something similar?

    • So can remote play be used wirelessly or with a LAN cable from another home? I use my vita to remotely play destiny when I am not home, does this mean I can bring the Vita TV to a friends house and remotely play destiny with a controller rather than cramping my hands on the vita? This would be my main reason for purchase.

    • This is one sweet little piece of tech here.

    • Is Sony discontinuing the Vita in North America, and only going with PS TV from now on? Because it sure feels like that’s what happening right now, the Vita is out of stock everywhere. Please comment, Sony.

    • Forgive me for not really following PS TV… Is that list of PS One classic titles/Legacy titles/whatever you wanna call them… are they installed and available right out of the box? Like, if I buy the PS TV, can I fire up Resident Evil 2 and play it day one? Or do I have to pay additional to access the games?

    • I feel like this is intended to entice game publishers to release more PS-Vita compatible… I’m all for this!

I’ve also found that a few portable games I recently picked up for my Vita are quite hard to play on a small screen – such as WRC-4 – I may pick up the PS TV for that reason.

    • Sooooo no Breath Of Fire 4 or Legend of Dragoon? That’s gonna keep me from buying this.

    • Sorry technical questions. I can’t figure out.

For ps4 to psTV remote play, what needs to be wired???

The wired ps4 streams (wifi) to the psTV?

I hope this is the case since my ps4 is wired to gigabit but where my pstv would be there is no wired connection.

    • Anyone know if you can stream your games online, as in stream through twitch?

    • So the physical games I have Uncharted, Wipeout, Resistance and Marvel vs. Capcom won’t work, also some of my digital games won’t work like Escape Plan, Gravity Rush and Luminies? That’s some BS! I was going to buy this when it came out, maybe after some firmware updates it might work.

    • Can this do couch multiplayer say for tekken ps1 or any of those games?

    • In terms of game compatibility, it seems that the PS(Vita)TV has been caught out by a case of unfrotunate timing.

When the -1000 Vita model first came out (back when the Vita TV had yet to be announced), a slew of the early wave games sought to make use of some of the motion control gimmicks which the device enabled. So you had titles like Gravity Rush and Uncharted: Golden Abyss, which implemented such features with varying degrees of success.

However, those same features which made the games so distinct also meant that trying to duplicate those features with a DualShock 3 or 4 would be difficult, if not impossible. So, when the Vita TV showed up in Japan, those games which relied too heavily on them were now incompatible.

However, now that the Vita TV exists (albeit selling poorly in its home country), game developers are now “encouraged” to ensure that more recent games would be made to work on both devices. (Which helps ensure the option of using more traditional controls in the process.)

So, while there are some of the older games which may never work on this device, that should (in theory, at least) be less of a problem for newer games on the platform.

    • Syphon Filter series?? This was a huge staple in the PS success!

    • @ Ki11erXPRO1302: It’ll probably be like the Vita. As long as the settings are set on the PS4. I can stream my PS4 over the internet when I’m not at the house. So if remote play is the same on the TV I’d imagine yes you can.

    • Does Playstation TV support local multiplayer? For example, could I play Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 with a TV and 2 Dual Shock 3/4s?

    • If Sony would let you stream any of your PSN PS3 games , this would be an instant buy for me. I am tempted to get this in the hope that they come to their senses and let PS Now integrate with the store instead of being a completely separate storefront. The bundle is a decent value above the basic package, even though I don’t have much use for another DS3. Not having to buy another memory card and getting a copy of Lego Movie is good.

Technically, I should be able to get a PSTV working alongside the Vita, PS3 and PS4 I have without much hassle. It’s worth it for the PS4 remote play on my 2nd tv, pretty useful for Vita games as most of my games are compatible (and more should follow, I hope) and completely useless for PSNow streaming in the current form.

    • Can you use a DS4 when you play PS Now through it?

When will PS Now come to PS TV?

      1080p and 5.1 output?

Can you connect the PS wireless headset to it?

    • Update Netflix on Vita or this thing will flop too.

It’s clear to me Sony is forsaking the handheld for this, given the lack of units available for purchase. Vita in the west is like a collectors item now, it’s nonsense.

Netflix needs profiles to be useful, my Sony bluray player has gotten more Netflix updates than Vita. Um…

    • Hello,

You’ve said that the device will work in US or Canada. I’m in US at the moment so that’s not an issue. But is there a plan to let

the first released devices to work with an International IPs anytime soon? Or is there any other plans for International players?

    • im sry if this has been answered all rdy.. My question is after the initial cost of the Hardware is there another fee to play the games? like a monthly subscription or a rental price?…again sry if it was all rdy answered

    • Still nothing on Walmart’s website regarding Sly Cooper being offered in the bundle. False advertising

    • Ok, question.

If I were to get a PS TV and get a PSP game that had local multiplayer on it, could I play with a friend of mine who has a PSP and the same game?

Example: I have a PS TV with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
Friend A has a PSP and MHFU as well… Could I play multiplayer – one on my TV, him on his PSP?

    • I’m in for one! Assuming I get the answer I hope I get for four questions.

      1) Are the internal components (and thus graphical capabilities) of the PS TV the same as the PS Vita?

      2) PS Vita games play at 960×544. Will Vita games on PS TV play at that resolution as well; or will they be upscaled/rendered at a higher resolution?

      3) Will Remote Play on the Playstation TV be the same experience as playing on the local console? In other words; am I going to get full 1080p resolution, full fidelity on the remote display? That feature is basically what I want this for and I’d basically pay the full $100 JUST for this feature.

      4) Will it have support for apps like Hulu and Netflix? One of the great things about my PS4 is that it replaces several set-top boxes. Not only is it a great gaming console; but it also plays my Blu-Ray Discs, and streams content from Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, et al. And I’m hoping for DLNA support in the future! While the PSTV will of course not support Blu-Ray, it would be fantastic if it supported streaming content. Then it would replace one of the set-top boxes I have in the bedroom!

    • Does anyone know if the vita tv can do remote play from outside the network? Like can I take the vita tv to my work and do remote play with my ps4 at home like I do today with my normal vita?

    • Same question as FOULMOUTHGAMER.

I would like to remote connect over the internet to my PS4 similar to with my Vita. Can I do that with the Playstation TV?

    • what the f… phantom breaker battle grounds nor galaxy fight are compatible with playstation tv? also why is omega boost still unavailable on psn? get your **** together sony staff!!

    • How much is the online going to cost?

    • Can I play games from my PSN account from both my PS3 and PS4 on the PSTV? Or do I have to remote play from both systems?

    • I would like to play several Vita games on a big screen but they’re not supported, and since I have all the consoles with physical copies of the games (PS3/PS4/Vita/PSP), I don’t have really an excuse to get this.
