This month, PlayStation Plus members can download Towerfall Ascension and Strider on PlayStation 4. Towerfall Ascension is a great excuse to invite a few friends over for an evening of fierce fun and local competition. It features simple mechanics, but it’ll take some time to master shooting and catching arrows, head stomping and strategically using power ups. Our second PS4 game is Strider, a reboot of one of gaming’s most renowned action series. As you aim to assassinate a heavily guarded target, you’ll employ a plethora of cyber-ninja skills and upgrades you collect along the way.
On PS3 we have the critically acclaimed action-horror title Dead Space 3 and a physics puzzle game called Vessel. Dead Space 3 continues the story of Issac Clarke and his constant run-ins with the freaky Church of Unitology and their Necromorphs. A new co-op mode is a nice addition to the franchise, and playing with a friend will unlock some exclusive content. If you enjoy puzzle games, try out Vessel – a title with an incredible liquid physics engine. Each puzzle requires you to think about the properties of various forms of liquid, whether it’s lava and steam or chemicals, in order to minimize the threat of chaotic robots you created.
Finally, on PS Vita Plus members get Muramasa Rebirth and Doki-Doki Universe. Muramasa Rebirth is one of the prettiest games on Vita, with equally lovely backdrops and boss designs. You’ll hack and slash via two different characters’ perspectives, a possessed princess and fugitive ninja, and you can craft consumables as well as new swords. Then there’s the unique experience of Doki-Doki Universe, where you’ll explore the universe as an adorable robot appropriately named QT3. As you investigate what humanity means, the game will track your decisions and develop a personality profile, so you’ll actually learn more about yourself as you play.

@275 Splodem – Seeing those PSP games listed, and given the Vita’s death knells, it’d be great if the past handheld was likewise thrown a couple per month. I still haven’t jumped on Vita (financial inadequacy on my part), but my PSP’s sitting here in arm’s reach. Adding PSP titles — even if they’re not necessarily compatible with Vita — could add more immediately visible value to Plus as well as bolster Vita content for games that do (arbitrarily) work on that successor system.

@TrueLordX: Nice rant, but that’s not exactly what I meant. Context is everything. I was referring only to the ever-present arguments held mostly by the extremists (pro-/anti-Sony, etc.) among us. But I really don’t care if they actually get deleted or not. I do not, however, consider the fair-minded moderation of public internet forums to be a violation of anyone’s right to free speech. Besides, I also said my own posts could be deleted; nothing I’ve said around here is *that* important. It’s up to each of us to decide how seriously to take this stuff, and ourselves.
@RE4LNOiZE_42: Thought-provoking post about the Vita’s probable fate. I don’t own one (and don’t plan to; just don’t care for handhelds), but I like reading honest and thoughtful posts. I think the Vita is dead. Marketed/supported very poorly by Sony here in the U.S. Maybe a lot of what happened isn’t their fault, but plenty of it is. I think it’s a bit too late for a revival.

Sony, you need to fix the Price of PS Now. These prices are outrageous.
A game rental can’t cost more than it’s actual purchase.
Here’s how it should be:
4 hours = 5% to 10% of the game’s price
7 days = 15% to 25% of the game’s price
30 days = 35% to 40% of the game’s price
90 days= 50% to 65% of the game’s price
Game price is based off the PS store pricing.
Also; there should be a monthly subscription type service like Netflix for around 20$ a month where you get access to all the games.
There are better PURCHASABLE Prices for games on Steam than PS Now’s RENTAL cost. So why bother with these prices?

So, the monthly rental service for the PS Now service; because you need different type of business models.

Netflix just rose it’s prices, so it’s possible to ask more since video games are somewhat more demanding than movies.

Pro-tip for the people who complain about how much PS Plus and specifically the IGC sucks on every one of these PS+ blog posts: your subscription is not mandatory. If you’re a PS4 owner and you have to subscribe to play games online, can you not just be grateful that Sony is giving you two free games every month? I see a lot of moaning and crying over the fact that most of the PS4 titles are indies, but that really should make a difference if they are good games.
I own a PS3 and a Vita. I bought both within a month of each other, and I’ve had PS Plus since the beginning. Most of the games I actually buy are on my PC, so PS Plus has been an incredible boon to my console experience. I own 5 PS3 games on disc and a single Vita cart, yet I have several dozen games across both platforms. PS Plus is a steal, and those who complain every month – I mean really, learn how to show some gratitude or cancel your subscription and move on. I’m tired of having my excitement for the upcoming IGC games tainted by the self-entitled whining of a bunch of crybaby teenagers.
Something else I’ve noticed a lot of lately (especially on this very post) is people complaining that they already own the game, and demanding reimbursement. This is exactly the kind of insane, self-entitled BS some gamers do that make publishers and developers dismiss a lot of what the community has to say. Sony doesn’t owe you anything because you already own a game that is currently free to download. Why would they? Do any of you have even the vaguest concept of how much work it would be for Sony to implement something like that just to give away free money/credit for no good reason? If you have even the faintest ability to look at the situation objectively and understand that they are RUNNING A BUSINESS, it should be obvious how crazy this idea is.
With all that said, keep up the great work Sony, I’ve wanted to play Dead Space 3 and Muramasa Rebirth forever! Vessel I’ve played on PC and it’s really great (though I’m surprised there isn’t a Vita version, it would be brilliant on that platform). Doki-Doki Universe I hadn’t heard of before now, but I’m just as excited for that title, it sounds excellent. Keep the great Vita titles coming! Terraria on PS Vita was a godsend.
@TJF588 – I think the addition of PSP titles as a great idea. I wonder if Sony isn’t aware of how significant the number of people who still own and use PSPs is. Honestly I bought a PSP Go before I bought my Vita, and would have just stuck with it alone if I wasn’t so tempted to return it towards a Vita for that darn Persona 4 (totally worth it, though).

Why am I unable to see all the current free games from PS Plus on the Store via console or web?
All I can see is the current month’s lineup but if I want to cliam the other games that are still free I have to manually search them.
That made me lose the chance to claim a couple of games already!
The ps4 free games suck, every month if i wanted 2d games I’d keep playing NINTENDO FROM THE 80s!! Seriously com on Sony 400 dollars in this is what we get? another month goes by and my ps4 collects dust!!! THESE ARE NOT NEXT GEN GAMES! Can’t believe I was foolish enough to get a ps4 when there are NO quality games out for it.. these indie games just don’t cut it! Top down isn’t next gen.. anyone wanna buy a ps4? PS4 has been out for just over half a year and both of you twerps are crying that Plus isn’t giving you a couple of $60 games for free every month. Plus is a great service and by far the best value in gaming, that isn’t enough for some of todays misguided youth, clearly. Looked at your profile and you too are a gamer man not a casual player so you must agree that the games are subpar so far and need to improve. Don’t expect a 60 dollar game every month but 1 in the first 6 months would be nice .. polished and rereleased last of us and tomb raider both I have on ps3 but why not offer one of those? My ps4 is a paper weight and collects dust.. how about new games like advanced warfare and far cry 4 only come to next gen? Maybe then the graphics will show next gen quality. Like I said 1 A list title every 6 months wouldn’t kill them.

I haven’t tried Towerfall Ascension yet but everyone who has played it says its a great couch co-op game so pull your head out of the back of your pants. Sorry if finding out that I am a better gamer AND a more successful human being than you ruined your day. That’s why I don’t cry about wanting more, more, more, free, free, free like yourself. I can afford to buy the new games I like and am intelligent enough to see the value I get out of Plus without bit ching and moaning all over the place.

Just decided to look into PS+ because of Destiny. I’ve never been into online shooters so we’ll see. If I love Destiny then membership will be worth it. I’m not sold on either yet.
I’ve missed out on a lot of awesome games. Oh if I could only go back to January or February and sign up then. I’m just trying to determine the future value on a ps+ membership. I’d like to start in a month that has a game I’ve wanted to play for a long time. This current selection for June and July has nothing to entice me, nothing sounds fun to me. If one of these games or similar gets added to the instant collection, I’ll join ps+ that month

When click download on the PS4 version of doki doki universe it says an error has occurred. I downloaded the Vita version first.
Anyone else having issues downloading Doki Doki on PS4? I downloaded the PS3 and Vita version already before trying it on my PS4, but all I’m getting there is an error..
