Update: An earlier headline for this post stated that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is coming to PS Vita, which was incorrect. Type-0 is coming to PS4 in North America and Europe.
I’d like to start this out by thanking everyone who let us know how badly you wanted this game to come to North America. Ever since the original PlayStation Portable release in Japan, you guys have never given up on it, raising your voices in an effort to see this title come to North America and Europe. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s coming and it’s going to be in HD.

Leave it to Sony to spit in the faces of Vita owners. At E3 Sony said they were committed to the vita, and they are, they are committed to completely ignore it. I’m okay with Indies, I love Jrpg’s, but I want more than that, Come on Sony lets get it done son!

This is the best joke ever. PSP fans and then Vita fans raised their voices for years to bring this to the West. Then S-E announces it for the Vita and the E3 has it’s megaton. Within an hour S-E cancels the Vita version but still thanks the fans for raising their voices.
While not releasing it for Vita might make business sense (since the Vita is a dead platform for most publishers (including SCEA)) announcing a game for it and killing it within an hour is as hostile to consumers as you can get without actually stealing money from your customers.
S-E, you are truly a broken company.
the funniest thing is that the game releases on XB1, the shooter-kiddie console. I know it’s easy to port from ps4 to xb1 but there are less xb1 console sold than ps vita, and I’m sure most of the ps vita owners are interested in FF games.
@ #364 some of us don’t have a PS4, and therefore will NOT be purchasing this game. Most of us are not complaining to look cool, but because we have been insulted and thrown aside by Sony and SE.
We did everything we could as fans to bring this game to the vita, and now they made such a mistake and give it to the ps4… This just not fair… I’m disappointed…

agreed 350 agreed. everyone needs to make our voice heard and let the blind, deaf, and greedy idiots at SCEA know that the Vita has a strong following and we needs games. Starting a trend like #NoVitaNoMoney on twitter is one way to at least let it known that we are extremely pissed. The Vita is literally the best console/handheld I’ve ever owned, and SCEA shows it absolutely no love. Thank god for Xseed, Akysys, and atlus. #NoVitaNoMoney

Sales for the PlayStation Vita increased to 81,111 units in Japan for the week ending January 5, 2014. This was due in part to the release of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster which sold 149,132 copies during its first week
So why not also release it for the vita???

I’m really sad and i’ll just stop buying new games, only used, and if I can’t play type 0 after all this years on vita, I’ve to take back my psp from my cabinet and play with a real portable console

Thank you Sony for being honest enough to confirm that you do not care about vita users. Good to know. I will not being getting this game on ps4 as it is not meant for that system.
I encourage everyone to check out the free professionally done English translation patch that was released 2 days ago. This is for the psp version. You will have to obtain the jp version of the game on your own though for legal reasons ;).
Sony, learn to act professional and stop ignoring vita users and slapping us in the face. There is a install base waiting for greatness. You just have to put some effort in supporting your own device.

Like people previously said before. If you want vita supporters voices to be heard go on twitter and tag Square enix, sony, playstation, and sony USA with the hashtag #NoVitaNomoney. As much as I hate twitter, corporations tend to read more from sites like twitter.

All right, let’s do a recap from the ground:
– In 2011, Type 0 is released in Japan on PSP and fans were actually happy with it. For years, PSP fans begged for the title to come over.
– Square didn’t listen, so fans take it on themselves to release a fan translation hack, a long-term project.
– But then comes Sony’s jRPG twitter campaign; make your voice heard to get that Japanese RPG to the west. One of those Tales games was the most popular, Type 0 was second.
– Meanwhile, the popularity and sales of Final Fantasy went downhill. Lightning games are bombing and they release all sorts of heinous doo-doo; including that that horrible microtransaction mobile game.
– FFX HD Remastered in two weeks sold more than Lightning Returns period. Vita version did very well, a tad less than PS3.
– Tales game that people wanted is actually announced for the Vita. People were estatic and there was hope.
– Today, Square says that Type 0 will be released just for the Vita.
– People lose their minds, check the first page.
– But then they use the Edit Button in a non-classy way: it’s being released for PS4 and Xbone, NOT for the Vita.

I BUY ALMOST EVERY VITA GAME , so do so many people. Why are you doing this. It makes no sense.. At least put a version on the vita. Its the best damn gaming piece of hardware around.
More games == more sales for the vita too…what the hell is the problem? Release it for both. Remote play isn’t a substitute, I can’t use remote play in my car…. when at work on lunch so screw that… give us a native vita version!!!
