Update: An earlier headline for this post stated that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is coming to PS Vita, which was incorrect. Type-0 is coming to PS4 in North America and Europe.
I’d like to start this out by thanking everyone who let us know how badly you wanted this game to come to North America. Ever since the original PlayStation Portable release in Japan, you guys have never given up on it, raising your voices in an effort to see this title come to North America and Europe. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s coming and it’s going to be in HD.

It’s very sad to see how the western branches of Sony don’t give a s**t about PSVITA, they only giving us Indies, and although it’s not a bad thing (some of the best games in the industry nowadays are indies), any videogame platform in order to “survive” need it’s big games, the “AAA” titles, to keep the hardcore public going. The VITA only had that kind of support in the west in it’s first year (Uncharted, Killzone Merc, LBP PSV), now the VITA only get indies and ports. The only real support for the platform these days comes from Japan, with games like SS Delta, Gravity Rush and Freedom Wars. But unfortunately not every gamer likes the Japanese games (not me case ‘cause I love them be it JRPG, graphic novel, etc), what makes it hard to sell the hardware around here. But if Sony itself don’t support their portable, who the hell they think will?
Sony please listen to this: The PS4 is already living by itself, it already have all the support it needs, so it’s time to give a little attention to the VITA. I really don’t know if it will be worth anything, but the number of comments on this post should show you that there are people who wants the VITA to live by itself, not to be some remote play add-on…

292: Not recognizing the fact games like Freedom Wars exist for Vita is hardly going to help. All it does is show no one actually cares for exclusives and new games. If you can’t be bothered to remember that those games exists, you clearly you aren’t buying them either.
So you have no right to complain. You are part of the problem, not the solution. If you do know of those games and do buy them, show some recognition of those efforts. Rather than act like there are only ports and indies.
Are you freaking serious? You KNOW that Vita owners wanted this. You DEFINITELY know that it would sell systems, and then you TOLD us we would be getting it.
What the hell, Square? What the HELL, Sony? It’s bad enough that we didn’t get this game in the first place on PSP, but I swear that we better get this or the original version on Vita.
The very people that “never gave up” on seeing a localization of this game are the same people who are being ignored,and insulted by the original posting,of this announcement.The people who wanted this are Vita owners and as one myself I feel confident in saying this feels like a slap in the face to most of us
As an owner of a Vita and a PS4 I can say after the initial story I was overjoyed but after the “correction” I’m more angry than anything else.At this point I can not see my buying Type-0 without a Vita announcement and an apology

This is such bull that it is not coming out for Vita. The Vita desperately needs system sellers like this, and we’re the ones who have been begging and BEGGING for it to come state side. For SE to slap the fans that wanted this in the face is ridiculous.

So much for “listening to the fans.” If SCEA actually took 15-20 minutes out of their conference to promote the Vita and put some kind of effort towards it and show some of the games being released for it maybe it would sell better. If not that then at least you would be supporting the fans who stick by the Vita regardless. All of us Vita owners have done nothing but support the Vita and games that are released for it and we are constantly rewarded with nothing. Oh I’m sorry wait, you guys have SINGING PLANT MONSTERS and WALKING DEAD PINBALL coming to us. Great. Thanks SCEA. Thanks Square Enix.
It’s really awesome! Now I know I should never invest in anything Sony ever again. As soon as there’s signs of trouble, Sony runs away. Take notes from Nintendo E3 conference. Even though the 3ds is clearly a money maker, most of their attention was focused on the Wii U. They’re trying, and the error at the beginning of this blog post really hyped me up for nothing.
I have been a faithful Vita gamer for the past 18 months. Although I own other systems, it is my primary platform. Since the PS4’s release, I’ve been leaning towards it as my choice for a next-gen console.
However, the sheer lack of attention to platform-specific titles for the Vita is causing me to rethink that. Sony, I will not support the PS4 if you cannot show proper support to your portable console. It is a console in and of itself, more than just an accessory or streaming device. Please treat it as such. If you do not, I will look elsewhere.

Finally a game that will get me to use my PS4 a bit more! I agree that a Vita copy would be better though. Especially since Vita TV will be released by the time this game is so we would have more of a choice on how we want to play it. But with PS4 I guess can still do remote play but that wont help at all while I’m working up at my other house getting it fixed up to move into. I’ll be playing it on whatever system it releases on though for sure.

Well, this was truly disappointing. I saw the original post, and I was so happy. Not just formyself, but for all the PSP owners who never got the game in America. and most of the PSP owners I knew are now PSVita owners. When I saw the original post, I was so happy. I was thinking “This is proof Square Enix has started to listen.” It is not he worst thing that could happen to me. But there are some people that really are very upset. The mistake is not the whole problem, but it is a part of it.
The only thing that I can see positive about this is the PS4 has remote play.

I know that a vocal group did ask for it, I mostly said what I said, because I am upset about this whole situation and the lack of support for the vita at E3. At this point it’s bee demoted to a controller for the PS4 and I’m just shocked at how Sony does not realize that there is a lot of JRPG fans on the Vita. If they really were scared of publishing new exclusives, they could always localize new ones (Like type-0 in this case, but we already know how that turned out). What about the other JRPGs on #JRPGVita? The trails in the sky series or the Kiseki series? That’s easy 5-7 exclusives you can have for western JRPG fans. If Sony can localize that series in china, why can’t it at least try with one of the games? That series most likely does not see a future past the third installment since XSEED is too small of a company to handle a localization as large for that series. At this point, Sony’s “support” for the vita is all words and no action.

Last night at E3 conference Sony only mentioned a few games for the Ps vita that most of us already knew about then they only mention it again because of Ps Now. Honestly I love gaming on my Vita and i think anyone who owns one knows how great of a system it actually is. Most people really wanted this game on vita even just a translated digital psp port on psn would have been enough. At E3 Sony showed how much they actually care about the vita’s success in the US market and i think its up to the vita owners raise our voices in order to get developers to start making games for it and this announcement is a great opportunity to make our voices heard. If we all , as a group, get on Square Enix’s Twitter, Facebook and website forums and tell state that we want at least an HD digital copy on ps vita then they will have to acknowledge us because we are the consumers that will be buying the product. Its a better option then just complaining about it going to Ps4. We all have a voice that should be heard!!
