Update: An earlier headline for this post stated that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is coming to PS Vita, which was incorrect. Type-0 is coming to PS4 in North America and Europe.
I’d like to start this out by thanking everyone who let us know how badly you wanted this game to come to North America. Ever since the original PlayStation Portable release in Japan, you guys have never given up on it, raising your voices in an effort to see this title come to North America and Europe. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s coming and it’s going to be in HD.

Those who pushed the western release of this game was primarily PSP and Vita owners. Why bother releasing a rehashed PSP game on the PS4, which already has FF15?
Im so happy I have a ps4 i can’t wait xD. To all the butthurt vita people. I have a Vita and it has plenty of games. This is for the PS4 which needs games. You know the number one criticism the new consoles have is that they don’t have games. They are addressing em last night and now with this.
I want to know where Square heard their fans clamoring for a PS4/X1 version, I thought this was a PSP game, and so PS Vita owners wanted it.

Well, so much for shooting down Vita owner down to hell.
When the mistaken news of a Vita release, everyone was so hyped up and now that its releasing only on next-gen/current-gen only is kinda of a stupid move as many vita owners has been waiting on this game for 3 years even make 2 petition during that duration for the release of the original one to the US. Clearly this is SquareEnix way of trolling PSP and PSVita owners.
At least, make a Vita version if you are gonna release it in the US. As it was originally a PSP game, it only makes sense to upgrade it to Vita. Also since the PS4 and PSVita are similar in architecture porting it to the Vita shouldn’t be that hard.
This announcement also doesn’t make sense as the PS4 and Xbox One already have Final Fantasy XV, so SquareEnix are clearly trolling Vita owners and all those people who petition for the release of a handheld game for a handheld. The Fan-translation released 2 days ago was clearly a response to SuareEnix’s lack interest over the last 3 years.
I’m speaking for all PS4 owners when I say DON’T GIVE THIS TO US! GIVE TYPE-0 TO VITA PLAYERS! They’re the ones that constantly asked for it in the first place you dolts!

P.S. I have a PS4 since day 1, Not buying it. Coz’ I agree this game was best to be release on a Vita and not on PS4.

Also, PS4 is getting a Final Fantasy. And a Kingdom Hearts. And probably more FF down the road.
Did you really need to take this away from handhelds? Did you? Would it have been so terrible to take the risk? You could have put it on PS4 after the fact if it bombed.
This was a slap in the face. Again after Nintendo showed they’re willing to support a “non profitable” console. They’re willing to even give it better treatment than the one selling, with Wii U’s eShop getting GBA games ahead of the 3DS.
This is atrocious. You’d think after the screwup with the PS1/PSP games earlier this year, something would be done.

It’s bad enough that this is not released for the Vita (you know, the successor of the platform where the original game was released for), but Sony could have told Square to show this during their conference.

This game should have a Vita release period, nobody wants it on home consoles.
What sucks the most, is SE can’t even throw us some mobile ports. No FF Dimensions, no Agito, no FFVII G-Bike, nothing.
I understand if you want to open this up to be multiplatform. More money via higher install base, etc.. I get it.. But why not have it on the Vita as well? I realize there is development time and other assorted fun (scope creep ftw) but to take this away from the Vita after THAT E3 conference is downright insulting. (No offense to the original poster of the article, mistakes happen.)
I guess the Vita and subsequent Playstation TV are only good for release E3 hype and were never meant to stand on their own which is a shame… I love my Vita but right now the only thing hurting it is the SONY logo written on it.
I have never witnessed a company that blatantly disregards the fans like Square Enix does. Putting this exclusively on PS4 makes absolutely no sense.
To SqEx: Just want to chip in another “Please make a Vita version!” I understand if you think the sales are better on the PS4, but there’s no reason you can’t do both. I won’t have a PS4 for several years (at best) but I’ve got a Vita now. When would you prefer I buy your game?
This should have been a Vita exclusive which would have actually helped more units sell…but sadly developers and Sony does not see that…at least also bring it to the Vita too please but great that its coming anyways.

You know I was going to buy this when I heard it was announced for the Vita. Then you guys decided to backtrack and announce it for the playstation 4 and wait… THE XBOX ONE. LOL. You guys aren’t getting a single friggin dime out of me. The Vita is an amazing console that gets NO love from the SCEA. What a joke.

Really? The one’s that asked for this game are vita owners and you give it to PS4? Quit acting like you still support the vita if all you’re going to do is constantly trick vita owners on a false hope that Sony still supports the device. It’s just sick at this point at the lack of support and the constant stream of unoptimized ports for the vita that no one asked for (aka Borderlands 2)..
Should be a vita game! I am not buying another SE game. Tomb raider, murdered soul suspect, Thief, FF X/X2 remastered, KH, Hitman (even if it comes on PS+). I’m done, pirate bay here I come.
I agree with some of the commenters, I’m not going to buy a PSP/handheld upport on PS4, might as well then wait for FFXV if I want a console final fantasy (probably cheap now because it was a low blow that bait and switch against the vita).
Square-Enix listening to their fans… bull**** if they did they would know that psp owners were the only ones anticipating this game… release the psp version in English or put out a HD English version on Vita. only those 2 options would net you my money.

In fact. I’m pretty pissed off at this point. If Sony won’t support the Vita or pay others to then why the hell should I support it anymore? All were getting is PS2/PS3 ports and sharing a few multi-plats with the PS4. Oh, and 10,103,489 Indie games that I could play on my laptop/tablet/phone already in real HD.

I have a PS4, but I refuse to buy Final Fantasy Type-0 unless it comes out for PS Vita as well.

Im not a big fan of this type of game. But what happen here is not cool. I would be devastated if this happened to a game i really wanted to play.

Do they find it humorous? Is this our return for putting faith in them and purchasing a Vita?
Minamida-san, just a couple of facts:
– The several game petitions for Type-0 were mostly from PS Vita owners who value Sony portables and invested in them.
– The fact that the game is not announced for Vita is almost an insult for Vita fans, since we were the most vocal about getting this game in the first place.
Hope you you have a voice in this and can help us turn this around and bring the game to Vita. Thanks.

Considering the much smaller userbase of the Vita compared to that of the Ps3, FFX HD sold very good. Type 0 not on the Vita makes no sense.
