Soul Sacrifice Delta is digital only? I’m very disappointed. I will not be picking this up.

  • @Mando44646

I know what you mean, my 7 year old made me bite the bullet, and hope they do.

I would wait if you have no pressing outside influences (or I would have waited).

  • Bad showing, Sony. Your “loyal” vita fanbase was upset enough with the lack of a SSD physical release, but the fact that you seem to be almost ignoring it doesn’t bode well either. Please tell us that you won’t do this with Freedom Wars, Oreshika, or Gravity Rush 2.

  • You really need to put the peices on here. I know you like to let pertinent info trickle out as slowly as possibl, though . What other business can you think of that tells you the price of things the day youre going to buy it? None.
Also, isnt walking dead episode 3 coming tuesday? So, do you not even have all the games that are releasing on your “heads up” post?

Just put the prices, its not hard.

  • Not a fact but……..
The examiner had a post on April 24th that had made it sound like it would be, with an additional cost of 9.99 for upgrading to PS4 which is plenty reasonable.

  • OMG when are we gonna get some ps4 demos????

  • Serious SAM!!!!!! i’ve been so excited about this. next digital devolver game that i’ve been waiting for after this is Duke Nukem 3D for the vita. these amazing gems should hold me over until hotline miami 2. devolver digital is such an amazing publisher.

  • Is there going to be a physical copies of Soul Sacrifice? Are just digital?

  • Can’t wait to see what gets announced at E3. These empty PS4 weeks are brutal.

  • Why is Soul Sacrifice Delta digital only? Will it come to retail at a later date?

  • Not a good drop at all and weneed some triple A games launched on the ps4 i like indies as much as the next person but i have had my fill.

  • Borderlands 2 Vita for me. Sure would like to know when Minecraft for Vita will be released.

  • This list needs more Minecraft and Diablo III on PS4.

First, I must say that I’m VERY excited for Borderlands 2 for Vita! I even bought trigger grips for my OG Vita to get more comfortable for long-term FPS play. However, the article above that I read in Destuctoid recently really troubled me. I typically don’t have negative comments regarding Sony’s treatment of the Vita. I always believed that Sony eventually would get its first-party franchises out on the system. I was truly hopeful that we would see some AAA announcements for the system at E3 The comments made by the Sony representative in this article really poured cold-water on those hopes. I have enjoyed my time with my Vita and will be holding on to it, even if it continues to be just a home for indie games. I am really disappointed, however, that Sony won’t push it as more than just a peripheral for remote play or PS Now. I just don’t know how a judgment can be made about the system before more major Sony franchises have appeared on it. Please invest more into AAA titles for the Vita, Sony.

  • I am not buying ANY Vita game digitally, unless they are dirty cheap. I don’t want the games I bought to be playable by a single account only. I have multiple PSN accounts, if I like a game I may replay it on another account to earn trophies again. I have family members who may want to play the games I bought. The single-account restriction on the Vita just doesn’t allow for digital purchases. No physical release = no purchase.

  • @48

I agree that the Vita is not dead. Sony only treats it like it is. There is still some quality stuff coming out for Vita and lots out there at present. Problem is, developers are not encourage by the half-hearted support from Sony.

Unfortunately, Sony only sees it as a PS4 peripheral right now. This is the same mistake that Sony made with the PSP, a great system that didn’t get the support it deserved because they are too concerned with the console wars rather than competing with Nintendo on the handheld front. When 3DS mucked the launch, they could have stomped them. Instead, they fluffed it worse despite some good games at launch.

Want to make Vita a force in the handheld market? Drop the bloody price on proprietary memory cards so that people will buy them. They screwed up the same way with the PSP. Nintendo was smart enough to use SD with the 3DS but Sony would rather make money on the memory cards than on digital sales of games.

Vita, you aren’t dead but you would never know if you look at how Sony treats you.

  • Definately agree with you Kevvik.

Sony has issues. We all know that. Hadware is usually great, but they really need a better team here in NA.

Licensing is a joke, and software is nowhere where it should be.

Look at the simple fact there is only a one time download for movies, or that the sony entrtainment webite can not be accesed with the Vita.

The PS Blogcast can not even be heard, since it does not allow flash, and half the videos will not work.

I will not even buy a PS4 untill they fix crossplatform for older titles.
What would the point be for buying digitally.

But these are the things Sony needs to get the point on. Not the constant crying that the newest months IGC selection is not what they wanted.

  • Soul Sacrifice Delta is only digital…..? well there goes all my enthusiasm for the game. Im not getting it. Im anti AAA digital. I only buy AAA digital games after they have failed and they are for 10 bucks in a ps+ offer. Consider Digital Only a sale less each time u decide to push this idiotic rule.

  • SSD is so definitive it doesn’t deserve a physical retail, eh? Way to stick it to the fans. Hopefully Oreshika gets better treatment.

  • BEYOND!

  • Heads up. BL2 Vita is pretty awesome.

  • Hopefully this weeks Plus update isnt garbage like everything from April and so far this month. Sports, Indies and Puzzle games need to stay away from IGC. Nobody cares about those. Look on my poll on the forums, MANY said they prefer something else than that garbage.

Also, I hope there are some good deals too. Hopefully you do another flash sale soon.

Nobody wants them? Then why do they sell so well?

    D’oh!

  • @BANDICOOTKING seems like it. Bought my son the BL2 Vita bundle for graduation and, from I’ve seen of him playing it, it looks good. Can’t wait until Tuesday so he and I can play together.

  • Ugh!!! Where is Helldivers or N++ or Samurai Gunn?

  • what no physical release for Soul Sacrifice Delta? come on D:

  • NA/EU Toukiden got some DLC with Soul Sacrifice monster Cerberus, and Soul Sacrifice could have been updated with DLC featuring Toukiden’s Chthonian Fiend, it’s a shame you didn’t

NA Soul Sacrifice recieved the Ace of Souls DLC 2 weeks ago, EU only just got Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, the Ace of Souls DLC could have been alongside it, it’s a shame it wasn’t.

It’s also a shame there’s no physical release for this new game

  • So, any flash sales this week? :)

  • DecadanceFantasy

Happy Mother’s Day! I had a good time with my mom today!
XBlaze looks like it might be fun. I might get it for my Vita if I like the demo!

  • Are you going to fix the constant audio and freezing problems in BL2? Literally every vender freezes the game.

  • It would be awesome if owners of Soul Sacrifice could just pay something lime $9.99 and get this updated version as DLC for the current game.

  • man, can wait for soul sacrifice delta, hope we will have an early update this tuesday

  • And BTW, More PS1 Classics PLEASE:

    Suikoden 2
    Einhander
    Diablo
    Vandal Hearts 1 and 2
    Megaman Legends 1 and 2
    Saga Frontier
    Jade Cocoon
    Die Hard Trilogy

Pretty much any PS1 RPG is an instant buy, but I’d love to play Vandal Hearts some day on my Vita.

  • Final comment:

Could we got some sales/price drops on games like SNK Arcade Classics and ZHP Unlosing Ranger? $20 still?

  • SOul Sacrifce Delta has no DEMO

  • no price for borderlands 2?

  • Digital only? Really?

Way to go Sony. Most of its fans won’t be buying it now.

  • An ok drop.

  • How much is Serious Sam 3 going to cost? I loved the original and remember this game being announced years ago. Also, any idea if there is online deathmatches?

  • Why cant SSDelta be just a DLC for the Original????

  • OMG YES! DELTA!!!! ALL I NEED NOW IS MINECRAFT (VITA) AND B.O.I. (VITA).

  • I love how you all complain about The Drop; saying it isn’t necessary. Not sure how loyal you are to the blog post, but not every game that appears on The Drop gets released the same week. On the Tuesday Store Update post, you always see new titles that weren’t on The Drop and some that were are no longer being released.

Plus, PlayStation is always announcing new games, which is why The Drop also has the disclaimer ” The information above is subject to change without notice.” That is why “The Drop” is a good thing; to give us a heads-up of what is possible this week. Same reason price isn’t shown because of possible game delays and/or price changes. You’re welcome!

  • I have a game on my download list that is offered in the ps vita store but the store won’t let me download it.It is a mini in the “Fighting Fantasy” minis line. It shows that I’ve bought it but it says it is not available to download to my vita. Why is that?

  • how about R3 account like me….can’t I play it even though my save data file is R3 ? I’m confused…..

  • @23 rwlove – I’m with you on the DRAKENGARD!s. After reading their Let’s Plays by TheDarkId (skipped NIER’s, since I really should get onto playing that), I could see myself pushing through just to play-by-play.

  • Bet people will be going crazy in that Soul Sacrifice Delta.

  • When we will see new PS Vita Slim bundles or standalone PS Vita Slim???? Please!!!

  • @EmeraldLeviathan What’s the matter? Can’t admit digital is better on Vita? All you a get is an empty case with just a cartridge instead and the game installs an icon on to your system, wasting icon space in the system. Wouldn’t it be better to just install the game on to your system? Librom says you’re a miserable troll for not buying his game.

  • @99, Digital is NOT better on Vita. I have multiple accounts (different regions too), family members may also be interested in the same games, but on the Vita, only the account that bought the game can play it. Even if you switch account (by reformatting/resetting the Vita), other accounts and family members still cannot play what you purchased.

Having a large collection of digital games all on the device, playable at any time without swapping card/disc, is certainly attractive (which is why I have gone mostly digital on PS3/PS4, I don’t sell my games anyway, so no loss there), but this single-account policy on the Vita is just too restrictive to support digital purchases. (I think the PS4’s single primary PS4 policy is also going to be a problem for me soon. Eventually I will end up having 3 or 4 sets of PS4 but no other account can play my games except on the first PS4.) Not to mention the small-capacity high-price memory media of the Vita.
