Next month PlayStation Plus members will receive several games as part of their membership including Stick it to the Man! on PS4, Puppeteer, PES 2014 and Skullgirls Encore on PlayStation 3, and Limbo and Surge Deluxe on PS Vita. Several of these titles are a visual treat, boasting distinct, vibrant art styles.
Stick it to the Man! is a mix of point and click adventure puzzles plus a bit of platforming, and the animation-inspired art style is really slick. You’ll solve problems as Ray, a regular guy who wakes up one day with a giant pink hand floating out of his head. This pink hand gives him the ability to read people’s minds and grab stickers from their thoughts to use in the world.
On PS3 members will receive three very different titles: the award-winning, uber-charming platformer Puppeteer, the popular soccer simulator Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 and the indie-darling fighter with a crazy roster, Skullgirls Encore. Puppeteer is a visual treat that follows the story of a boy named Kutaro who gets turned into a puppet by the evil Moon Bear King (great name) and loses his head. After the transformation Kutaro must borrow other heads and use his fancy new pair of scissors to navigate the world and return home (preferably with his original head). Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 allows you to play as your favorite soccer team and pit them against teams from around the globe. The improved FOX Engine means that the soccer ball will be much more fluid than previous PES games. The 2D fighter Skullgirls Encore houses a bunch of wacky characters, each with their own unique attack style. The Encore version has new systems, balance updates, stages and music and a few new characters to mess around with.
PS Vita owners will get to download Surge Deluxe, an intense color-matching title and the critically-acclaimed puzzle platformer Limbo. The action in Surge Deluxe heats up quickly as you chain together color-coordinated blocks. The faster you move the more likely you are to be successful — taking too long means the pressure will build up in the pipes surrounding the screen and BOOM! Game over. If you haven’t played Limbo yet you’ll be in for a real treat when it comes to the Instant Game Collection for PS Vita. Limbo’s haunting atmosphere, intriguing puzzles and vague narrative make this a game you’ll remember for a long time.

WOW, Vita games are a joke =))). You must give away some games from PSN Mobile next month, to keep up the pace.
United states most watched sports are Football (the american kind), Baseball, and Basket Ball. In the rest of the world Soccer is the top sport (especially in the EU where millions of dollars are made on FIFA DLC) So with Sony knowing this why would they give out a game for free on the IGC when they can make millions of dollars selling this in the EU, while in the US Anime, JRPG’s, and other content is becoming more popular than it was before and is seeing record numbers in sales of said Japanese games so again why would they offer it for free when they can still make money off it in the US. Sony cares about minimizing the losses of game sales by giving free games to the smaller markets and still completing their contract of offering some games every month.
Saddened, but not shocked at all by Puppeteer being free. It was, of course, on a major sale a few months back, so it only makes sense that it would be free this year. Castle of Illusion was the same sale I believe (I bought both), and that was free last month. I was personally hoping for a late Okami or Metal Gear Rising Revengeance entrance since those were in Eu ages ago. I will definitely be checking out PES though. Anyone know if it has couch co-op?
I have Skullgirls and puppeteer, Stick it to the man and PES is cool.
PrimeroIncognito who’s whining? you’re the one who sounds like you’re whining about my post. and i’m talking about ps4 triple a games… not ps3 games. pay attention. and thank you so much for the elementary explanation about how games become part of the instant game collection. i had no idea the developer actually had to be consulted! wow… that’s amazing inside information you have there. lol. do you feel better now that you put me in my place? haha
Discounts, Sales. thats all i care about. 99 cent sales are the most gangster. thank you Sony.
@260 its caled FOOTBALL everywhere , its only caled soccer in america so dumb people like you dont get confused. and its popular in more than just the third world. quit being a racist punk.
It’s sad that the only people that have commented on my posts focus on my disdain for the “sport” of soccer. My personal tastes aside my points (yes there was more than one) still stand on how the IGC has been in sad shape for around 6 months at least with only a couple small exceptions. My point about EU getting full retails and US getting nothing but indies and ports on the PS4 and Vita still stands. My point about the sudden removal of full PS1/PSP support on Vitas without an explanation still stands. My point about Sony not listening to it’s consumers and not marketing Plus accordingly to region still stands. This PES/POS game would have done well if given to the Mexican, South American, and many EU region stores, but even in Mexico which is part of the North American store (supposedly) they are given a different game instead. I already own that one but would have rather seen that take PES’s place in the IGC. If Sony wants to give out a sports game in the US market it should be a baseball, football, basketball, or driving game where it would reach a much larger percentage of the user base
In the future try to take people’s comments as a whole instead of picking them apart to suit your own needs and to try to start an argument just so you can pretend to be right
To the Knights of the PSN Blog – I really wish you guys would find a different hobby and let paying customers voice their concerns and complaints without you jumping to Sony’s defense every step of the way. None of you are employed by Sony and if you are, passing yourselves of as just customers to troll the blogs is a little pathetic
Aaaaannndddd just to be clear – none of this is free. We all payed for these games so if some of us see a large number of them as being sub par for an extended period of time then we have every right to complain
Soccer………………really?
I think including Puppeteer is a mistake. All that’s going to do is ensure that every low key first party release is brushed off as a “I’ll wait for PS+”. Thus ensuring flops for everything but your AAA dudebro games.
Sony’s view of the big picture is so broken.
I think we are overdue for a major PS4 free game for IGC. I like indies but having a title like Killzone SF, Knack, Thief or AC4 would attract more PS4 users to PSN+. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed for June.
@311 Elvick_
Puppeteer is 8 months old, and was on sell for 7$ for ps+ members and 14$ for regular members, if anybody was going to buy it they already would have already, or they would wait for a even better deal and Sony would not get a lot of money anyway. If they include Puppeteer then that’s one more ps exclusive game that came out on ps+, making ps+ sound like a better offer then it already was because when someone says ps exclusive most people don’t think about games like the Puppeteer.
Nothing interesting so far for PS4 users. It seems no one in PSN gives a damn about us. No matter what you throw at us, PS4 NEEDS a backward compatibility !!!!

The whiners.
jim488: “i’m talking about ps4 triple a games… not ps3 games. pay attention.”
I see. My fault. I just figured you would have known already that AAA games for the PS4 aren’t going to be given away with Plus just yet. I’ll try to keep your unrealistic expectations in mind next time. Maybe next month.
jim488: “thank you so much for the elementary explanation … i had no idea the developer actually had to be consulted! wow… that’s amazing inside information you have there”
Well, you certainly weren’t talking like you knew that already. Why ask Sony when it’s ultimately up to the developer?
@BahumatIsBack
Of course it is okay to complain. It might even be good so the service hopefully will getting better and better but to be realistic we don’t pay not only for games but also for the people working on it. The maintenance, etc.
Even if you pay the full price for PS+ you pay about $4 to rent so many games for a whole month! It might be random and sometimes does not include a game for me at all but I don’t think I can go in any rental store and rent some games cheaper :D
Sometime the complaining is just over the top. ^^
BahumatIsBack on April 24th, 2014 at 10:43 pm said: “my points (yes there was more than one) still stand on how the IGC has been in sad shape for around 6 months”
That’s an opinion, not a point.
BahumatIsBack: “My point about EU getting full retails and US getting nothing but indies and ports on the PS4 and Vita still stands”
First of all, there’s not many AAA games to give for Vita, and second, as explained earlier, it’s ultimately up to the publishers, so you’re barking up the wrong tree anyway.
BahumatIsBack: “My point about the sudden removal of full PS1/PSP support on Vitas without an explanation still stands.”
Are you talking about Spyro and Crash? That was obviously an error. And again, it comes down to publisher rights. Sony isn’t trying to screw anyone over. They would allow it if they could, obviously.
^^ You quote everything except what actually pertained to you proving my point about how certain people nitpick statements instead of looking at them as a whole so I’ll post it again.
^^ Did you see how you quoted everything but what was directed at you personally? I don’t know why you feel you need to “explain” things to people that didn’t ask for your explanation especially since you are not a Sony employee. The only explanations I care to see are from somebody employed at Sony or one of the publishers but that’s too much to ask for since they never read past the first page on any of these blog posts and when they do respond it’s only to say “Beyond!” or “Me too” or some other meaningless comment
These few months have been really disappointing from PSN. Not one game was worth downloading. Not to mention PNS for PS4. All this rubbish for what, there should be an option for PS3 and PS4 users to vote what games they would like to see on PSN or just fire the man responsible for choosing this junk and hire someone with more knowledge about games, consumer needs and moods.
BahumatIsBack: “My point about Sony not listening to it’s consumers and not marketing Plus accordingly to region still stands”
They do listen to their customers. Just not in the way you think. It’s not about little brats whining on a blog, it’s about the entire consumer base. The best way to know what EVERYONE wants is to compile, monitor, and react to various business-related figures and purposely vague polls to satisfy the majority in a “blanket” manner. Typical business strategy.
BahumatIsBack: “To the Knights … I wish you guys would let paying customers voice their complaints”
I’m not a knight. I’m simply exercising my inherent sensibility where I feel it could be useful. And I am letting you voice your “concerns” if that’s what you want to call them. I haven’t tried to censor you. I’m simply explaining how you’re way off-target. If you’ve got something to say, fine, but make sure you know what you’re talking about first. The problem is that you whiners DON’T know what you’re talking about, you’re just stroking your egos trying to appear knowledgeable while spreading a whole lot of misinformation, and I, personally, find that to be inappropriate and a waste of space, on top of annoying.
BahumatIsBack: “You quote everything except what actually pertained to you”
Nope. I wasn’t finished yet. (1,250 character limit getting in the way.)
See how you jump to conclusions, Mr. Know-It-All? ;)
Why the Vita hate?
And please, stop acting like $50 per year ($4.17 per month; 97 cents per week) is some Godly sum of money that entitles you to get on the blog, make demands, and recklessly throw around accusations and misinformation. The cost of your Plus subscription is NOT setting you back. I won’t believe it. Ever. If you even paid $50… most people probably signed up when there was a promo going to get a subscription even cheaper, and I’d wager that you did the same.
If you even get ONE big-budget game that you enjoy, your subscription is paid for and everything else is just a bonus. Try optimism and gratitude for a change.
Publishers decide what comes to the IGC, so, send your complaints their way. It’s out of place when directed at Sony. They don’t need to be reminded that AAA games draw more attention. Believe me, they already know. They do what they can. I could explain in even greater detail how it all works and why constant AAA games are simply not feasible, but I’m seriously tired and I’m going to bed now. Good night.
You’re not “letting me” do anything. I don’t need your permission or your approval for that matter. You are just an end user like everyone else here so please start acting like one instead of pretending to be something you’re not. I know I’ve asked you before to stop responding to my posts and yet you continue. You are just a gamer like everyone else on here. Your statements are nothing more than opinions like everyone elses. If you don’t like mine then keep your comments to yourself or at the very least don’t quote me or mention my name trying to goad me into some asinine internet debate. You don’t interest me. You are just being a pest where you feel you need to explain and correct people on this blog day in and day out seven days a week 365 days a year. It’s old. It’s tiresome. Please stop. Please find something else to do with your time. Here’s a crazy thought – go play a game instead of posting on every single blog post on here
^Says he’s not affected; cries and carries on like a child. LOL.
Please free GTA vice city stories and LitleBig Planet vita ,pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
i don’t like football, bloody hell! ;/
For those who haven’t gotten Skullgirls, get it while it’s free, it’s amazing and right now you can grab the two DLC Characters and the Color Pack for free :D
Thx for the variety of genres! I like how good this IGC is now, considering you were a Day 1 PS+ subscriber, you obtained over 200+ titles for PS3/PSV/PS4 and this is what makes me happy. Did not forgot about PS+ discounts for up to 80% on some titles. Thanks Playstation! Greatness is here!
OPEN TO EVERYONE, BUT DON’T BE A JERK. (c)
Skullgirls seems interesting, as does Puppeteer.
Soccer..that’s not my thing, and I really don’t know if you’re going to make the majority of Americans happy by offering PES (or any sports title, really) as part of the collection.
That being said, I’m not complaining, though I’m somewhat hoping to see Saint’s Row IV up sometime in the next few months.
@309
Your so wrong with this it’s laughable…
You pay for a FULL YEARS worth of games.
But since your so hard to please I’m not surprised you see it that way.
And about this month’s games
There not all my cup of tea but I will try them as they are free and I can’t complain about free :)
Very nice, thank you!

[what he said]
1. Most intelligent comment yet. All of these decisions are financial. Why on Earth would a corporation try to follow the whims and individual tastes of a few blog commenters? For the grand benefit of receiving a few “Yay!” comments when they happen to get it right by some arbitrary standard? No, they know what we want. Telling them here and elsewhere is fine, but in the end they’ll give us what they can based on sales in a given region. It’s up to the publishers, and I’m sure they get something from Sony in return. But if what Sony offers doesn’t beat their sales projection, they aren’t gonna do it.
2. Just theorizing here, but: IMHO it seems that decisions about the IGC are made *before* (or at the same time as) decisions about Plus discounts. The publishers get together with Sony and plan it out. The games are generally put on sale just before being added to the IGC. It’s not a mistake or an unrelated event. But knowledge is the key; I’m glad I know and I see that many others are well aware. So we can stop buying games (or at least limit our purchases) if we care so much about them joining the IGC soon afterward.
Personally, I paid so little for Puppeteer when it was on sale that I don’t care very much. Same with Thomas Was Alone before that. And I own both games, so there’s that. I suppose I can *understand* being upset if I had paid $40 for a game yesterday, only to find it free today. But that’s where the idea of value comes in: If it was worth $40 to me yesterday, why be upset over it today? If you find yourself in this position and can’t get over it, then maybe you really should stop or severely limit your PS store activity.
3. EU vs. NA is a losing battle every time, with whoever’s comparing being the loser. It’s not worth anything to constantly compare what they get with what we get. They will never be the same, in large part for financial reasons. (See #1.) Now, I grumped somewhat about the EU Easter sale vs. last weekend’s flash sale here. Though I have to say I would never have gone to look at what they got on my own without some prompting from comments here. It’s funny to see just as many from EU complaining on this blog (and their own, I’m sure) that our sales are better. Ignorance is bliss. But if you like being jealous and pissed off all the time, it’s a free country.
This is easily the very worst month in the history of the IGC for PS+, by a mile. Sony, I know it’s cheaper the get indie games into the IGC than AAA titles, but, this is beyond a joke. This is an insult, especially after how strong you started off in 2014. STOP trying to force the indie genre on us.
I get more value from PS+ because of the usually excellent discounts than I do from IGC games that I will never download or play. Do you seriously HAVE to dump more indie garbage on us every single month, though? Can we have even a single two-month stretch where you don’t add any ports of Android/iOS/Steam games to the IGC?
This will be the first month since I bought a PS Vita in 2012 that I want zero of the IGC games. Boo.
The ps3 line is really wonderful but the ps vita maybe lacking some titles let me give some options that i will enjoy: sly, muramasa, dynast warriors, ninja gaiden sigma
4. If you want to take advantage of sales for items you got from the IGC, you’ll need another account. A different e-mail address is required. My advice would be to make an account solely for this purpose. Remember that deleting the account will also delete the download list and make all those purchases go bye-bye.
5. Sony reps may or may not be reading any of this, but they are not going to respond. Coming back every day hoping they finally will is the very definition of lunacy.
I was expecting far cry 3 or metal gear rising to be IGC in this month.
oh well, maybe next month we will get these games.
MEH… another bad month for my PS Vita :( I have already played Limbo. A puzzle game, seriously?
Skullgirls seems interesting, I’ll check it out.
Nice!!!! Good list of games!!!
Since when the US care about Soccer?, I personally DISLIKE soccer, and I already gotten Skullgirls Encore free when the Original Skullgirls got Disbanded. I personally can’t wait for Puppeteer, Looks like a Solid game.
Eh, decent games… Skull Girls & PES ’14 interest me though.
@260 I never write commenting other post but this is miserable. Sorry for my words but WHO THE F*** YOU THINK YOU ARE? The owner of the world by just being “American”?. Football it’s only called “soccer” in USA, but in every part of the world… EVERY PART BESIDES USA its called FOOTBALL!!! Even in Great Britain who supposedly are the “creators” of the modern soccer we know now. So, you comment denotes injustified an STUPID racism against “third world’s contries” as you say, and a big lack of knowledge, yeah, stupidity i mean!!!.
I don’t own any of those so no complaints here. Limbo being replaced with Muramasa Rebirth would have been awesome though.
Thanks Kristine
@345 – yet another person that only focused on my disdain for the “sport” of soccer that is nothing more than kick the can with a ball instead of a can instead of the half dozen other things I was talking about. What happened? Did I hit a nerve? Nowhere did I call England/Great Brittain, Ireland, Scotland, Italy, or a dozen more countries third world yet you assume that I called every country that calls it futbol third world. Sounds to me like you have a grudge against Americans that speak their minds. It’s a little something called free speech. I’m sorry if people get their panties in a bunch over some stupid sport that gained most of it’s popularity in third world countries (yes, I said it again but try to understand what that phrase means before spouting off) where they can’t even be bothered to keep their drinking water clean for example. That’s third world buddy and it has nothing to do with racism. It’s mostly ignorance based and affects more than whatever race you assumed I was talking about. Seems to me that you’re the one making snap judgements here
Seriously guys, I know reading and comprehension are hard concepts for some people, but let’s try a little harder m’kay.
@348 we get it, you dont like soccer. However, Im also American and soccer is the ONLY sport that I find worthwhile to play or watch. To each their own. So stop spouting of ignorance as if you actually know what you’re talking about
