Pre-order Call of Duty: Ghosts on PS3
It’s T-minus six days from the launch of Call of Duty: Ghosts on PS3 November 5th, and we wanted to share a few cool things we’ve been working on as we’re gearing up for the big launch.
Pre-order Call of Duty: Ghosts on PlayStation Store and you’ll be able to start downloading the game any time after 3:00 PM PT on Sunday, November 3rd so you can begin playing as soon as 12:01 AM PST on November 5th. This feature will be available for both the standard game and the Digital Hardened Edition.
Then, after you’ve picked up your game, take advantage of the Double XP event during launch weekend from Friday, November 8th (10:00 AM PT) to Monday, November 11th (10:00 AM PT). You’ll earn twice as much XP on all of your multiplayer accomplishments.
Also, for those of you planning on picking up a PS4, don’t forget you’ll be able to upgrade your PS3 version to the PS4 version for $9.99 — get the full details on that program here.
I just checked my Ghosts information file and it says STARTS 2:00 am 5/11/13. This makes no sense because I live in EST time zone which is -3!
When I click add to cart I get a pop up “An error has occurred”.. any help on this?
So its looking like 3AM set, but i’m seeing that getting the game at the store will be playable, once installed? Safe bet it’ll just be the campaign, going to guess that the MP Servers won’t be live till 3AM. kinda makes the early preload more of a hindrance then a perk, which i had originally thought.

I am truly happy we get to download early but to wait an extra 1-3 hours to play the game sucks.
This pre load was the most stupidest idea I ever heard of if we can’t play it right at 12:01 or pretty friggin close to it! If we can’t play then this pre load crap was a fail. We’ll obviously find out by midnight est. time. So if we can’t play at midnight then I’ll never pre download or buy anything from the store again. It took me 48-60 minutes to download ghosts yesterday so if we can’t play then I was actually better off buying from gstop at midnight as it only would’ve taken me 60 min to download and play. In other words I would be playing for 2 hours before I can even play my pre downloaded pre ordered ghosts. Lmao I hope this is not the deal but yesterday waiting for the 3:00pst time to download took 3 extra hours so I’m not that confident in Sony because it is always like this lmao tonight I say good bye to whack ops!
Oh and battlefield 4 was released at 12:01 est. time. Not pst two different games and assassins creed was also at 12:01 est just saying
Lmao that’s crazy I found out that when you press triangle on ghosts where it’s downloaded then go down to information it has the start date I live in the N. East anyways it says starts 11/5/2013 2:00a.m. Wow! How friggin disappointed am I right now that I’ll be playing this crap tomorrow instead I can’t believe that we pre downloaded this isht and still can’t even play it!!! Wow that pre download was a Massive Friggin FAIL! I could’ve went to gstop and been playing by 1:00 a a whole friggin hour earlier than pre download which I thought was so we can start playing at 12:01 ? Wow what a friggin rip off Sony you usck

It say 2 am for me im est if you goto the information on the game download so will i be able to play at 2am or 3am?
The reason you are seeing 2 am is because of Day Light Savings Time.
That’s my theory at least.

There’s no such thing as a midnight launch in the USA when it comes to call of duty. When is the last time they ever came out with anything at the time they said they would? Exactly, we go through this every time cod comes out.when they say midnight we immediately think oh wow that must mean my midnight. No, sorry it’s for other some friggin 3rd world country’s midnight not ours lmao! Like Guam is already playing and the USA which puts all the money in these peoples pockets are waiting till 3am. Why is it that the East coast are the only ones who actually has to wait till 2 or 3 and everyone else in the world unless you bought it from a retailer gets to play at 12:01? Why is that we have to wait for the west coast when they should wait for us so stupid

@472 – There is no false advertisement. It tells you when it unlocks. -digital- games have always been this way. They unlock on PST. It works this way on steam, and any other digital retailer. It’s not the same as physical. If it wasn’t this way, all anyone has to do is change their clock to get it early. Each region has a set time, and the US’s is PST.
My system stopped reading disks or I wouldn’t have bought digital. Needles to say I will never buy a digital game again. It was more inconvenient than waiting in line at midnight, to not play a game I was supposed to be able to play – at midnight.
Just an example. Lets say they let digital copies play at midnight based on their timezones, alright. So it’s midnight in EST, my friend in Cali could have me log into his account, buy it for him, then BAM, he has it at 9pm PST, which breaks their street date. Physical is different because you’d never get a physical disk to someone in cali fast enough to break the street date. Just be patient, take a shower, have a cookie. You’ll be playing soon enough.
The West coast is behind us in the East coast by 3 hours and the uk is ahead of us by many not sure lol but,the uk got theirs at 12:01 the west coast will get theirs at 12:01 but us east coaster we have to wait till 3:00???? Hmmm last time I checked the west coast follows us not the other way around. Like if the Super Bowl is on at 8:00 pm the whole country isn’t going to wait for the west coast to tune in and them start friggin joke the pre download was psn lost a customer this time around due to false advertising

Super Bowls aren’t -street dated- I know this is an annoying concept, but it’s just the way things work. I have over 500 games on my Steam account. I’ve been buying mmo’s and other games online since the dial-up days. It’ll be alright, at least now you know. If you’re on the east coast, you have to wait for west coast. I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Just be glad the double xp weekend is this weekend and not today. So we aren’t really losing anything. Not that it takes long to level on cod anyway.
Super Bowl is a live event, therefor everyone gets it at the same time. Otherwise it wouldn’t be live. Live events are the only exception. Other tv shows they have to wait until their respective timezones. Games however, handle this differently due to the reasons I explained above. Digital is instant, therefor breaking street dates would be too easy. Retailers are legally obligated to hold games until the official street date decided by the developer. Sony didn’t develop COD, they’re just a distributor. We wait for Cali because as I said above, all you’d have to do is change your clock to fool your console into thinking you’re in a different timezone.
479-Ok so my downloaded ghosts says start at 11/5/2013 at 2:00am 2013. So when it’s 12:00 in Cali it’ll be 3 am and that should be the time right? 3:00 am est. so why does my information say start at 2:00 am?

@ 481 – That I am not sure. It should be 3, but their systems could be confused due to DST rolling an hour back. Maybe we’ll get lucky and get it at 2. Would be nice. Won’t know till it happens though. Worst case scenario is 3am EST.
They need to figure out how to locate your system allow the game to start based on what time zone your IP address is from or something ! There has to be a better way!!! Also I’m in Cincy and it says I can play at 2am which is still 11pm in Cali doesn’t make any sense if there so worried about legal issues with an early release!?!?!?
@ 483 – I can make my IP think I’m in Japan if I want to. There’s just so many loopholes. As for the 2am thing, as I said I think it’s a daylight savings time error. We could get lucky and get to play an hour early.
The problem with this digital download is that it is only set up for a certain time zone. I am EST and now I have to wait til 3 am to play the game. If they want digital to actually work than they need for players to be able to play at midnight on their time zone. I will not be buying digital again until this is resolved!

yeah i know im on the west coast. This things good for me but bad for people on the east coast. If it was region based it would be a better system or at least make it eastern time as the universal release
