If you watched our press conference at gamescom, you’ve already heard some of the great news we’ve just shared that gamers everywhere have been waiting for. Today, we’re happy to confirm that PlayStation 4 (PS4) will launch on November 15th in the U.S. and Canada – in time for the holidays! PlayStation fans in Europe and Latin America will also be able to get their hands on a PS4 system on November 29th, so you’ll be able to connect with your friends and fellow gamers worldwide on PS4 this year, taking advantage of all of the deeply integrated social features and incredible gaming experiences that PS4 has to offer.
PS4 truly provides the best place to play. By the end of December, we’ll have 33 titles available for PS4, including NBA 2K14, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Skylanders Swap Force, Need for Speed: Rivals, Battlefield 4, Madden 25, FIFA 14, NBA Live, Killzone: Shadow Fall, #DRIVECLUB, Knack, Assassins Creed IV Black Flag, Watch_Dogs, Just Dance 2014 and Lego Marvel Super Heroes.
We are proud of our relationships with game creators and pleased to be working with nearly 620 developers and publishers from around the world. More than 180 PS4 titles are in development, including Destiny from Bungie, Inc./Activision Publishers, Inc., Mad Max: Fury Road from Warner Brothers, Witcher 3 from CD Projekt, The Division from Ubisoft Entertainment, Dragon Age from Electronic Arts, and also Helldivers and The Order: 1886 from SCE Worldwide Studios – so you’ll have plenty of great games to look forward to in the coming months.

I want an answer on how the discounts for PS4 digital games work if we have the PS3 version.
Will I be in line on the 15th? well that depends on you Sony, so most likely no.
What will it take you ask? Not much says I. Just a couple small things:
-Whats the deal with Gaikai? When will it be up? Is it included with Plus? When it launches what will it do?
-What exclusive content will PS4 get for Starwars Battlefront? If you let M$ get this one you just lost me for a few years i’m afraid.
-Without Infamous at launch what incentive do i have? I dont think killzone will keep me happy all byitself for 3-6months, maybe longer knowing you guys.
-Announce some sequels to our beloved exclusive francises that look like they died, such as:
-LAIR
-Starhawk
-Playstation Allstars
-Resistance
-Pixel Junk something or other
That is all.
Since I was born on Nov. 6th I will consider the PS4 some form of birthday celebration, or something. Question… Is “Home” going next gen?

I don’t mind a November release date at all, I need the time to play my PS3 games. Dragon’s Crown and GTAV when it launches.
I pre-ordered my PS4 back in July, I hope that wasn’t too late. I have the pre-order on Amazon. Also got Killzone, Watch Dogs, and Battlefield 4 on pre-order (Not sure when that’s being released for next gen).
Watched the Gamescom press conference and I’m really excited for all the indie games you folks announced as well as the F2P games.

I’ve had this bad boy on pre-order ever since they announced the price at E3 (thanks Amazon!). It’s so nice to finally get a solid release date. I wasn’t too excited before but now that I know a date I really hyped. I wish inFAMOUS was a launch game (really love that series) but Killzone looks awesome and I want to play Knack with my son.

I like the idea of buy it now play now and after Nov 15 get a download for the ps4 for a less than new price but why not say half price or five bucks off or whatever you plan to give.

Another great conference showing but one major criticism. Who the hell was directing the live feed that Sony was broadcasting? What was up with all those wide shots of the crowd sitting in a dark room? I didn’t tune in to see the back of people’s heads and laptop screens. I wanted to see the user interface and game trailers. Sort it out! There should never be a cut away from game footage. Get it straightened out for TGS.

I was really hoping for an Oct 20th Release date. Now to wait another month is a long time in my eyes at least. Also I am somewhat disappointed to hear that Destiny will not be a release game on Launch. I think if I read correctly Ghosts will be released soon after launch but not an official launch title.
Watch dogs was originally listed as a launch title and was even sold in a launch day bundle with the system. Now the release date for the game is like 4 days after the system is set to launch. Does this mean that people that pre ordered watch dogs or got the bundle will now have to wait for the game to be released or is the ps4 version going to be released earlier than the other versions of the game?

I watched the Gamescom conference today & was yet again, impressed by Sony’s presentation. Only 87 days till PS4! I pre-ordered from Amazon about 8 hours after it was posted rather that choosing to stand in a long line at midnight release somewhere in hopes of getting one before they run out in stores. I probably wont get mine until 3-4pm but hell, I will be WELL rested & ready to play!

I am sooooooo excited for the PS4 I’ve been ready since February lol got my pre-order in the day after your e3 press conference :-) it’s been super hard to wait but I know it’ll be worth it. Actually the waiting and build up is fun too, but I wish I could fast forward to November 15th lol
In the mean time, there’s lots of good stuff to play on PS3 and Vita, wish GTA V was out now thought, it would make it a little easier haha!

500 GB is not going to be nearly big enough.
Luckily, I think Western Digital is launching a 3 TB notebook drive just before the PS4 launch, and that sounds like a match made in heaven to me. :)

But, as for your conference at Gamescom, with all due respect, (i) fire the camera operator; (ii) fire the director; (iii) fire anyone who was responsible for the direction of your conference. In short, the technical aspect of your show looked no better than some video project given out to Grade 3 students – it was horrible.
Oh, and when showing game-trailers and announcements of games, particularly for new ones, no one on the face of the planet wants to see head shots of people in the audience. We want to see the actual trailer. Likewise, there’s a thing called “zoom in” on cameras – it might be handy to use it when your going to show off your new XMB. Again, fire whoever thought that it would be a good idea to zoom out – no one watching you live stream could see anything!
In short, your E3 press conference was exciting, dynamic, and filmed in a way that actually showed your products which is the whole point of a press conference. But at Gamescom, the phrase “horribly executed” would be an apt description of the conference. You could have, and should have, done better.

By the way, anyway we can get the conference on the PS Store that doesn’t include useless shots of the audience. That cameraman was given horrible instructions by the director.

As excited as I am for the PS4, I was pretty disappointed with the conference today. There was a lack of big news. There needs to be more detail on the UI. There needed to be bigger games announced.
As much as I love indie games, there is a thing called balance. Indie games are great coupled with bigger releases.
Overall, I’m excited for the launch, but wish there was more details at this conference.

So excited for this! Went into work today and got the 15th off as a vacation day! Totally gonna pick up my system and half a dozen games at midnight and play it for three days straight, barring sleepy time. November can’t come soon enough!
