This week, we’re building the Instant Game Collection with the 2D action of Metal Slug: XX! You can download this arcade classic free as a PS Plus member starting with tomorrow’s PlayStation Store update.

This is also the first week release of PlayStation Store’s PLAY, as the first of the 4 diverse games hitting this week with Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark. Today is the last day you can preorder the title with a 20% PS Plus discount, however, you’ll still be able to preorder the other 3 titles (Cloudberry Kingdom, Ibb & Obb, and Duck Tales Remastered) up to their weekly release dates.     I’m expecting this comment to get thrashed, but I’d also like to see some new themes/avatars go up for Plus Members. I remember the jackpot when I first signed up, but there hasn’t been any major offerings in many moons. (Third party themes/pics would be great)

    …. and While not every game is something I MUST play, I appreciate the variety of things that have been offered in the past year. Keep it up! Continually improve

    @43 oh god no racing games please. Give us an rpg first. Still amazes me how much Sony ignores that poll they took late last year asking us what genres we’d like to see in plus. Rpg won by a landslide, yet we still kept getting boring fighting and shooting games. :(

    Hey Morgan ! thanks for this, finally something “compatible” with ps vita, but will we see some full ps vita game like old months or like in europe? (rayman, blazblu etc etc) would be awesome to at least do another discount week like the last one for some titles that has been free before (like ninja gaiden plus for vita) i know you cant put it free again but would be awesome to put it like in 7.49 or 9.99 for PS PLUS members, :) thanks !!!

      Thanks for the feedback!. So you know though, every PSP we’ve ever put in the IGC since its debut on PS Vita has been compatible with PS Vita. Not sure what you mean by ‘finally something compatible’ but, carry on!

    No more PSP games. If you’re going to force them on us, how about some actual decent PSP games like Jak and Daxter, Clank, Final Fantasy, or any of the numerous titles that people love.

    Also, lmao at $20 for Metal Slug on PSP. Fix your PSN prices. Some of them are beyond awful.

    @Morgan Any word on if Cloudberry Kingdom will be crossbuy when Vita version is released?We were told that the answer would come before the sale left but I haven’t heard anything. I would preorder now if they would just confirm that Vita will be free if I preorder ps3 now.

    Please, for the love of all things PlayStation, PLEASE STOP GIVING US PSP GAMES!

    Not only do I doubt there are a lot of people still wanting to play a PSP game on their NEW Vita, they are crappy games. Not even the good ones.

    Also should not that a discount on DLC for a game that is is $10 isnt really something that should be a Highlight of the update. Just my opinion.

    The North American Plus lineup has been getting trounced by EU for MONTHS, and July continues to be no different. Seriously disappointing. Fewer great titles will ALWAYS beat an overabundance of goodies nobody asked for (Metal Slug XX? Really?). Nobody here has the time to play hundreds of “meh” games. The North American IGC could be SO much better.

    Thanks for always taking feedback, Morgan. PS Plus disappointments aside, your team is doing a great job responding to the community, as always.

    Are we ever going to get games from this year (2013) on PS+ like Europe has been getting. It’s cool that we getting older games, but throw in a some new AAA titles.

    Personally I would like to see the following format take place.

    1 AAA PS3 Game
    1 PSN PS3 Game
    1 AAA Vita Game
    1 PSN Vita Game

    Add a 2013 title to any of the above once a month and the service will highly improve, in my honest opinion.

    Will pick up Thomas Was Alone DLC. Nice to see some DLC on sale on PSN, hopefully that will happen more often.

    Some suggestions for IGC:

    Dungeon Hunter Alliance for Vita is a game I know quite a few people would like to play but nobody wants to pay $27 for it. It’s half that price on PS3 and close to free on mobile platforms so “free” would be a great price on Vita.

    A PSP game that would be cool is Jeanne D’arc, which is a very accessible SRPG and quite a good game to boot.

    And some requests…
    It would be cool if you could do a mega sale on everything Mass Effect, including DLC, for the week of November 7 (N7 = Mass Effect day). I’m waiting for ME3’s DLC packs to go on sale to pick them up so I wouldn’t mind a sale then, or even sooner. ;)

    Fallout New Vegas DLC also needs a price drop. It totals near $50 on PSN, while you could get the Ultimate Edition at retail for $20, including the game and all the DLC. Could you give Bethesda a holla and fix that up please. :p

    In other words, please have more DLC sales and please try to work with publishers to price drop them to reasonable levels.

    2 things offered to us plus subscribers this week and one is an old psp game I already have on my psp. The other I don’t want.

    We should all move to Europe they get the best deals.

    Hi Mr. Haro, I have a question concerning Playstation Plus. If I were to get Playstation Plus today and say, I downloaded the Battlefield 3 game. How long would I be able to play it?

    I know that certain games are removed from the PS+ store after a period of time, so if I still had the game installed on my PS3, would I still be able to play the game, or will it ask me to go and purchase it after it’s no longer downloadable through Playstation Plus?

    #73 you are a level 3 with trophys so you need to go buy some games before you try to complain about my complaints i buy at least 1 ps3 game and 1 360 per week and i buy even more games when they are on sale so it is people like me who have the right to complain because i buy games and add-ons while people like you buy nothing until xmas.

    Pretty weak.. well.. week.

    On the bright side, my wallet can’t handle any more discounts right now.
    aaaaaand, I guess I have a reason to go dust off my PSP.

    I’d put it on my Vita, but the proprietary memory cards are so overpriced it makes me nauseous.

    Personally, I’d like to see some sonic games. You can never have too many sonic games.

    I was wondering why we haven’t gotten a full screen version of the GTA5 trailer on the store yet…?? Unless I am missing something, I haven’t found it and i’d love to download it to my PS3 to watch as many times as i want.. It would be appreciated… Full HD would be great…

    PS+ is the best investment especially if you have both PS3 n Vita(soon Ps4), but pls give uncharted, wipeout, n gravity rush a rotation, there have been in the IGC for toooooo long.
    Anyway good job guys, keep on giving the best experiences for us

    Please give us Rayman Origins, Unit 13, Metal Gear Solid Collection or another game on a similar scale next month. Enough with the old PSP, small budget or niche Vita games. I just don’t understand why Europe gets so many mainstream Vita games on PS+.

    Im loving psn plus. Got it 4 months ago and already have enough games to keep me entertained for years. I hope that it grows and gets even better or at the least, that it keeps this winning formula. By the way, it would be awesome to have a rpg and racing month. 1 game could be a j-rpg, the 2nd one a western rpg and the third game could be a racing game. Cheers

    @68 JNM-CIM – PlayStation Plus free games are available for “purchase” (here acting more as subscription-based rentals) for a limited time, but once they’re “bought” (that is, available in your Download List), they are yours to download and play so long as you’re subscribed to PlayStation Plus, even if your subscription lapses.

    Therefore, unless you figure you may want to pay for a game, go ahead a “purchase” the free games, so you can use them if/when you want. Mind that PS+ discounts act like any regular “real cash money” purchase: you paid with funds, so it’s yours for keeps, regardless of your subscription.
