  • This is just awful, Eu gets 3 AAA titles this week alone and we get PvZ, who doesn’t already own that?! Still waiting on an RPG, which our dear community leader keeps promising us they’re working on.

  • @four24twenty: Only problem with gamefly is it’s $15 a month.

  • Morgan i hope you read this and have time to answer me.

You see, i’m Braziliam, and we are indeed a great force on gaming.
Over the years we grown as gamers and consumers, even the PS4 will be launched the same day here and on US.

    my question is:

Is there any talks about bringing PS PLUS to us here on Brazil?

We are bound to use US and EU, and will be nice to have something for us.

    Thank you in advance.

  • @ ZenTripleFour

Price means absolutely nothing… other than a reflection of the CONTENT PROVIDER’S estimation of the value to them, based upon the balancing of recouping any losses invested into the content, to the projected profit that would be enabling of a satisfactory living wage for all participants involved in the work.

Price is not indicative AT ALL of the enjoyment level expected, or perceived sentimental value to or by the consumer.

Personally, I’ve enjoyed many $10 downloadable games a lot more than many of the big-budget cinematic mainstream productions, and many other gamers have experienced the same. For the zillionth time, it’s a matter of personal taste in the end. Only a complete fool could overlook this clear, simple truth.

You must not realize it, but you people who complain here represent a VERY TINY fraction of Sony’s consumer base.

  • Well it looks like I’ll be cancelling by PS Plus subscription. I’ve been holding out hope that things will get better but if the rest of the year is going to be similar how 2013 is going so far then I can see I’m holding out hope in vain. I still fail to comprehend how it is EU Plus gets tons of great full retail games and we get nothing but some cheap PSN titles. Add to the fact that I have already purchased most of the titles we do get and its pretty hard to ignore that the subscription is worthless.

I recommend creating some type of retribution system for releasing games on PS+ that we already own. For example when you add a game to PS+ that I already own how about giving me the option to trade it in for something like PS+ credits that can be used towards purchasing past PS+ titles that have since been removed and we have maybe missed out on? Or even to use on PS+ content from other stores like the EU one. Something to help with the problem of “Should I buy this title or should I wait at the off chance it will become free or discounted on PS+?”

  • @Morgan:

Are there any assurances that Sony will continue to support the PS3 for Plus subs at the same level through the middle of 2014?

I’m considering taking advantage of the renewal offer, but I’m already seeing that for this month we aren’t getting three new IGC games for the PS3 (two of the free games for this month were VITA games). So I’m thinking once the PS4 launches, the IGC games for the PS3 will dwindle even more if not disappear altogether.

It would really be nice to hear if Sony is committed to supporting the PS3 for Plus subs at the same level at a time they are asking customers to make a 15 month commitment.

    Thanks!

  • I already have PvZ on my PC but I have been waiting for the vita Version to come free for plus so I’m happy with this update. I do wish Dynasty Warriors Next was on sale with the rest of the VIta games though.

  • My wife and I love PS+ for the most part. I personally think it is a great value, and will keep subscribing as long as it retains the level of value that it has had for the last year and a half or so. Having said that, I am worried about the current trends I am seeing ever since PS+ was expanded to include the Vita system. Expansion is great, as it ads value to the brand, but not if if is going to be at the expense of existing users. I am, and probably will remain a PS+ subscriber for PS3 as I don’t have a particular interest in gaming on handheld devices. So, my request is this: Don’t water down PS+ for PS3 users (or PS4 in the future for that matter) just because Vita and handheld is now in the mix. This week was Vita focused with the free game, which is fine. Just don’t make me fee like I am getting nothing. Overall though, not much to complain about. We long term subscribers have access to a lot of stuff for very little money. The perceived value needs to remain high though if PS+ wants to retain me for the long term as well as attract new customers.

    Cheers!

  • And to those who didn’t get the $10 PSN voucher I would say it’s because you haven’t spent the required amount of money on the store. I mean this is Sony we are talking about so to think they would give that to someone because of their trophy count, PS+ membership length, or because they have owned a system since day one is ridiculous. It’s all about money and I can almost guarantee they gave it to the people who spent over a certain amount. If you’ve spent piles of money on the store over the past year and didn’t get one then I would say you have the right to be pissed.

  • I for one didn’t get any $10 bonus and I spend quite a bit on PSN. I prefer downloaded games over disc format. I’m just hoping they repeat it and give the people they missed the bonus as well.

As for this update, I don’t own a Vita and am not going to rush into buying one anytime soon, so nothing for me this week.

  • Man that’s a really crappy sale for the vita. I wish you’d push bigger titles instead of, you know, mostly crap. (Sound Shapes is awesome though and if you don’t have it you should be ashamed of yourself.)

  • I would compare PS+ to a buy one get one free coupon for Pumpkin pie filling. Sure its free, sure it might have been popular a while back, and sure you might eat some of it, but be honest you never would have bought it to begin with. So you’re not really saving money at all.

  • @44 @PrimeroIncognito

“To a lot of people, it probably is. Do you really think everyone has the same interests? C’mon…”

This guy is implying that PvZ is worth more than MGS HD Collection which Europe is getting free and we’re not.

Not only is MGS HD Collection worth more according to MSRP, but PvZ is right now free for iPad or iPhone users. Its main audience.

  • I agree completely that the weekly updates are bad. Please go to monthly.

  • @ JoeGoodsnake2

    I totally agree with you..!

I’ll be looking into more info on the Steambox future home console. (Or whatever their going to call it.)

Also your views on this service, I’m in agreement too. The EU store had a 1st Vita B-day sale, it consisted almost 30 Vita titles. I don’t own a Vita over priced garbage, but still I noticed the big sale. Also their sales on full retail titles puts NA to shame. EU is all around better, and for you non intelligent people out there, no you don’t have to move there.

    @everyone else

Now if the PS4 isn’t going to play anything we bought or DL’d why keep buying, sorry wasting your money.?
You think Sony will let you know if PS+ was going to cease? Yeah right, their isn’t even a cancelation option.
I will not buy a PS4 on release due to many issue, like the first couple generations have problems. I’ll wait a couple years, Sony won’t get my money so easily this time.

  • I like the idea of monthly updates like EU. Although weekly updates keep the surprises going…. but then again, we won’t be as disappointed if we don’t like the update. I don’t mind this update I guess, still playing Vanquish and it’ll give me a chance to catch up on some other games I have yet to play.

  • Slow down with the replies Morgan! I cant keep up

  • @271 thank you that has been my toughts all along for some time now add me if you want

  • @Squiggle55

I know @JoeGoodSnake’s argument in favor of the old format is weaker but there are those of us who agree with him. I already get all the retail games I want thru Gamefly, I subbed to PS+ because they gave me a weekly offering of PSN, PSP, Mini games as well as wall papers & avatars. Now it is very rare that I get something from plus that is not already in my collection or I’ve already rented. Again I’ll admit that folks like @JGS and I are in a minority but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be heard

  • @ JoeGimmeABreak

No, you don’t have to resort to saying, son, or kid. You just address the one you disagree with in the same condescending tone that you always have. Not that I don’t do the same, but at least I wouldn’t deny it like a coward.

And you missed the point of my argument regarding subjectivity. Let’s try this again. The point is that your BLANKET STATEMENTS about “value” are invalid simply due to the fact that subjectivity is a reality. Meaning, you look foolish to say anything to the contrary (of subjectivity). You seemingly assume that everyone here is a lost little sheep who will willingly eat up all your fabrications without ever feeling a single inkling of questioning what they’re being told.

To put it quite simply, you’re delusional. Put your mask and cape back in the closet. You’re not going to save the world from the diabolical clutches of ol’ evil Sony today. Sorry.

  • and yes, I already own MGS Collection too so EU+ would have nothing for me either

  • Something I’m curious about is how many of the customers who got the $10 cert also participated in the beta for the playstation rewards program.

As you can see by my avatar, I was an active participant in it.

  • @jamonit23

I’ve been waiting on Valve for a long time to get into this market. They as a company have always provided a very good value for PC Gamers and have so far not shown an ounce of greed. Gabe seems to really care about pushing out quality and constantly improving the Valve brand. The few times that they have had issues, they have always been quick to correct and respond to the community.

I got a lot of faith on this new project. My only complaint is I wish he’d finish up HL Episode 3 already, goddamnit.

  • Need. A . Bigger. Memory. Card.

  • looks like the a$$h**e patrol is out in force today

  • Dear Sony Store Team,

As an unloyal Playstation customer, I would like to thank you for reaffirming my choice not to renew my PS+ membership.

  • @286 Are you gonna stick your head in the ground when people are telling you that PvZ is free on iPads and iPhones?

And don’t pretend people don’t have those devices if they have something as expensive as the Vita.

  • best just to let him stew in his own juices tho, I think he’s flattered when we talk about him, lol

  • I already have Retro/Grade, but I agree with the several people who’ve posted above – you should absolutely get this game if you don’t already have it, especially at that price. My only complaint is that it only offers bronze trophies – would have personally liked some silver and gold given the amount of work you have to put into them – but that’s a very minor quibble, and won’t make a difference to most people. Great game, and I’ll definitely pick up the soundtrack.

Also, I think it’s time to stop procrastinating and shell out for the Vita.

  • @ZenTripleFour

as much as I hate to agree with certain elements in this forum, the Vita version of PvZ is a much better game than the ones on IOS & Android. Its a worthy addition to the Vita collection. give it a try before you get too worked up over it

  • @291 With that leaked schematic of a new PS Vita with 4G and HDMI output? No thank you.

  • @293 I have PvZ on my PC and I don’t have a Vita.

  • Holy baby jesus. I was expecting some crappy update…and this just made my day….im so unit 13, little deviants

  • As always lame people being fast to complain….go away and subscribe for Plus on EU….instead of write nonsense here. There is nothing constructive in this type of comments…for real this comments should be banned. Can’t believe people are so narrow minded….spamming lists here…Jesus.

  • Really US plus is falling off the edge. We need better games than Plants VS Zombies only for Vita. Please at least try to match there games. This strait not fair.

    March for Europe PS Plus:
    6th March: Mass Effect 3
6th March: Dead or Alive 5
    6th March: Joe Danger 2
13th March: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
    20th March: Puddle

    US
Starts off with Plants VS Zombies Vita.

    Really OMG????

  • @Primero

My last comment seems to be awaiting moderation despite not containing anything offensive. I’ll disregard all the personal attacks you have against me (which are unwarranted and strange), and simply address your subjectivity comment for now.

I attempted to reduce subjectivity through an objective definition of value in past posts in order to promote discussion between myself and opposing views. I don’t disagree about subjectivity, which is why my previous argument about you not having a right to deny people’s subjective opinions still stands.

The above paragraph might be reposted if my moderated comment becomes available later.

  • @CZOOM01. US isn’t starting off March with PVZ…It’s still February, by the way…

  • Even Jack Tretton is looking at this update with raised eyebrows. Hopefully the 30 minute GoW Ascension demo will be released tomorrow. Leave it to a DEMO to save the day…and I don’t even think it’s part of PS+. I could be wrong though.

  • Wow thanks for the great discounts on ps vita games, I just buy a vita. For less than $ 40 I can buy PSABR, unit 13 and little deviants. Keep doing a great job. See ya!!!

  • Great, again nothing for me.

When they will start read the comments and see that we are not happy with PS Plus Usa.

PS Plus Europe >>>>>>>>>>> Live > PS Plus Usa.

  • Well, looks like I’ll use some of my wallet for Retro/Grade stuff.

And with this update, I’ll have both versions of PvZ through Plus. Quirky.

Anyway, those listed discounts aren’t enough to get me to bite. 50% still seems rather meh compared to PC/Mac/Linux sales from various vendors, and I don’t have a Vita yet to get any immediate use outta ’em. Let’s see if the “Gamers’ Choice” stuff results in deeper cuts.

  • You guys complaining spent 50 dollars for one year of plus. The games EU PS Plus are getting can be found for less than that now. So instead of spending 50 dollars for one year of PS Plus you can take that 50 dollars and buy all those EU games every month or so yourself. I do wish UMVC3 on Vita got a discount though or free but I can pick it up myself eventually.

  • @294 oh right, that leaked schematic with features I’ll never use… I forgot. Anyway, I was only referring to my own procrastination, not the rest of the world’s – what I meant was I now already own enough Vita content to make the purchase more than worth it, so I need to go ahead and pick one up.

  • You EU vs US cheerleaders are funny.

Sony never said they were comparable or similar and never advertised as such.

It is your own expectations that get you huffing and puffing every week.

If you are not happy with the US Plus, either cancel or get EU Plus. It is perfectly fine to complain about the content you are getting but once you compare and expect it to be similar to something it was never said to match, then you just fail at comprehension.

Thanks for reading, you may continue whining now.

Thanks for PvZ on Vita. Have gotten so many games for the Vita all because of Plus and it was all added onto the service I already paid for! Will be taking advantage of some of those discounts too.

  • I’m sorry but these updates are getting worse and worse. Stop giving us the shaft or I’ll stop giving you my damn money.

  • I was thinking to pick up another year of plus to get that 3 months added on but i am not sure if it would be a wise choice. If I get another year of plus I will have a plus membership until Sep 2016 and since the PS4 is coming out this fall I am not sure if the PS3 will still be supported for Plus. What is going to happen when PS4 comes out ? Will all of the plus members memberships transfer to the PS4 and be active on both PS3 and PS4 at the same time?

  • At least the Vita version of Plants vs Zombies has a platinum.

  • Morgan, where can we check the statues/expiration date of our Plus membeship?

  • Morgan,

What are the terms of the $10 voucher received by some members? “Loyalty” program? What does that even mean? I’ve spent so much money in the PS Store that its insulting not to receive one of these vouchers. I contacted Sony CS for clarification, but getting the runaround from the supervisor. What is Sony hiding by not disclosing the selection criteria? Smells like discrimination to me.
