PlayStation Plus: Plants vs. Zombies Free for Members

Hopefully you’ve been digging into some of the free PlayStation Plus content this month including Vanquish, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, and indie-hit Closure. This week, we’re excited to bring the crowd-pleasing Plants Vs. Zombies on PS Vita to the Instant Game Collection.

Wow for crap, got kinda excited when it said Plants vs Zombies and then it says Vita. Premium gets nothing good 2 weeks in a row or is it 3?

I just renewed US PS plus & bought one year of EU PS plus through their PSN store (by paying though paypal).
I just bought Darksiders ii 4 $10 (w/o PS+ discount) @ EU PSN Store.
I hope SCEA steps up BIG with PS plus. Knowing them, SCEA is too cheap to deliver high quality content to PS plus.

The US store sucks. I subscribed for 2 years and all what I got are crap. In EU store they give every month wonderful games, good games discounts and I get planet vs zombies? I won’t even put it in my iPhone. We want you to give us Mass Effect 3, Batman, Borderlands 2…etc. We don’t even want games like infamous. It’s enough It’s enough It’s enough sony.

May pick up playstation all stars at that price…..too much vita content in this update. Personally I think the vita and PS3 PS+ services should be split into two different services as I don’t own a vita and don’t intent to ever get one, so I’m always a bit bummed when a vita centric update comes out, but I’m still happily enjoying vanquish, and haven’t even started Closure or Guardians of Middle Earth yet, so I really can’t complain.

This plus the loyalty voucher proves that Sony does not care about all of its fans. I’ve been burned more then once this past week by Sony and I’ve been a loyal customer for years, didn’t even own a 360 or Wii this generation. The worst thing about it is Sony states they gave the voucher to their “loyal” customers but many of their loyal customers like me have been left out, and Sony doesn’t even have the respect for us to tell us why. They rather support the “loyal customers” who recently brought their first PS3 or never supported them before . Pathetic.

Now my Plus subscription is becoming worthless. I only joined for the free games, and it looks like I’m from the wrong region to enjoy that. Then we have a community manager who doesn’t give a damn and dishes out generic answers. Hahah you think this guy is fighting for us? Sounds like he’s fighting to defend Sony instead by feeding us lies. He knows this update sucks, especially compared to what Europe is getting. Yet he sits there and states otherswise.

Have no interest in downloading Plants vs Zombies, but it’s nice to see Vita get some love. Definitely going to pick up retro city since it’s so low and maybe get super stardust delta since it was one of my absolute favorite games for the PSP.

Its kinds of strange that [B]Resistance:BS[/B] isn’t on sale. Hopeful its coming to plus soon. Hot shot is too overpriced as compared to 13 for 13 sale.

Honestly, the PS+ updates have been absolute garbage compared to EU for a long time now. The only good thing about this update is that they at least recognized the Vita, which seems like they have just been shoving in a corner when it came to PS+. Next month won’t be any different or any better; in fact looking in my crystal ball here I can see the future –

We get one mediocre PS3 game which has already been on the store and heavily discounted.
A couple random titles that no one has ever heard of and look like crap.
and once again nothing for the Vita.

I think PS+ is one of the best marketing strategies for the Vita. I’m still hesitant to get one as I wish it came with dual triggers and functioned as a true PS3 away from home, but there are several games I know have that I’m itching to try. Of course, with the PS4 just around the corner, all money is being saved for one purpose at the moment. By the way, thanks for the $10. That was completely unexpected, yet appreciated. Long live Play! :-)

If this is the case, how come PLUS members in Europe get Limbo for free and North America does not? Good update by the way as usual but I just wish the content of PSN and PLUS was universal across all countries especially between Europe and NA

  Almost every publisher has their own offices in each territory, which means different agreements in different regions. The item you’re quoting me on is speaking only to how the individual territories get content. It doesn’t have any implications to regional coordination, which is no simple task to do in a timely manner as it pertains to securing free content for PS Plus members. So there’s no ‘if this, then that’ type of logic you could draw from that quote regarding EU and NA coordination.

PvZ Vita is the best version. So that’s good, I already have it though. Got the platinum when Lucky Spin was still tedious and required 3 diamonds instead of just any 3 match.

I have most games on sale, but a lot of them are good. So that’s good as well.

Wish we were getting Dead or Alive 5.

What ever happened to, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”? I can understand constructive criticism, but you people running down this service are acting like you’re being betrayed. This is an OPTIONAL service. No one requires you to subscribe to PS+. If you don’t like it, don’t resubscribe. It’s so simple and I’m sure it would make Morgan’s job so much easier.

Anyway, was actually thinking about buying PvZ so it’s great that I’m getting that for free! Can’t wait to see what games go on sale. Personally hoping for Counter Strike. Loved what I played with the timed trial and would like the full game for a discounted price. :P

Metal Gear collection was actually my next planned purchase when im done with my current games. I planned to start getting physical games.
I’ve been shuffling between my 8 and 4 gig cards, trying to make use of both since i have too much contenf for the 8g. but if MGS came free i could save that $30 and id happily fork out $90 to sony so that i can get me a 32g card and be done with switching in and out, haha

I think some people need to lay off Morgan a bit here. Sure him trying to put the positive PR spin on everything can tick me off a bit, but it’s not like he’s going to be like, “Yeah I agree that our selection doesn’t even come close to EU”. That would be suicidal to the guy’s job. Don’t shoot the messenger.

Sure, I’m not really too happy about the majority of our offerings since the IGC started and I’ve made myself loud and clear over it, but Morgan really has no control over what we got other than giving them feedback from criticisms here. Yeah, I sound like a total hypocrite right now because I’ve definitely jumped on Morgan’s case before, but it really isn’t going to help any. Without pointing the finger, just state what you aren’t pleased about and why. It’ll get you a lot further in my opinion.

That said, PvZ isn’t exactly what I care for so I can’t really smile over this update. Only positive to it is at least it’s the best version of the game. Oh and last week bringing Maverick Hunter X to Plus (while I already own it) was a good choice. Though I’m sure some people got ticked off over getting a PSP game even though PSP has a huge and great library to dig into. I bet some of those same people that got mad over a PSP game are the same ones that go nuts that we don’t get PSOne classics anymore for PS3 Plus too. I just want great games, I don’t care where they come from.

gonna wait to see what the voters choices games are.. Might grab up something since I got the $10 credit.

I had a theory on that for people that are trying to figure out why some got it and others didn’t.

Reminds me of the thing I think in October 2012… might have been November… but, if you spent a certain amount of money on the store with the funds in your wallet. you would have got a voucher for money.. like spend 100 and get 30 or something.

either way I think maybe the 10 bucks is attributed to people you have been faithful in steady purchases and content. downloading and or purchasing something the majority of the time when the store gets updated..

like a frequent shopper deal.

either way I’m loving all the great stuff..

PS+ users are getting screwed in the NA market. Free games that come to Europe, PS+ users get to purchase at a discounted price. The free retail games in Europe are fairly new. like how Dead or Alive 5 was released less than six months ago, yet the NA retail games are older than dirt games you can find for less than $10. You could actually purchase Bioshock 2 for $9.99 new for the longest time.

If the Europe market got the same garbage the NA market did, then it wouldn’t be such a big deal, but you guys are really pissing off your fans the way you’re running PS+.

It could be completely randomized for all we know.

I just game that is what its all about.. regardless of what content.. if I’m intrigued by it I’m going to play it most likely..

ppl still gripe about UK vs US content… get over it… make a UK acct… I just did and checked it out… They got deals on Batman AC and Darksider II.. stuff like that..

but, I’m more than satisfied with the US releases.. they are only going to get better…

a random $10 appears in some accts and the PS4 unveiling was about the gamers wanting games(summed up, the corporate key points of Feb 20th announcement)

I can forsee alot more stuff down the pipeline in terms of content, regardless of region.

@634: That is hardly relevant. Logic doesn’t change just because I got a $10 voucher. Which I did. I’d have been just fine not getting one, because I’m not an entitled baby. You and I are not entitled to a free $10 from Sony. Unless your PS3 box says, “Hey, in x years you’ll get a random free $10.” I’m willing to bet you $10 your box doesn’t say that.

So stop crying. Say you’re bummed and move on with life. Don’t act like they owe you anything. That’s entitlement and that’s pathetic.
