Sure as heck dont regret my 1 year US sub expiring back in Nov. Havent missed a thing.
    Lulz.

  • Cross Buy question: Purchasing the PS3 version of Sly 4 on PSN automatically gets you the Vita version (as answered in one of the first replies), but this does rule apply to all future and current Cross buy games on PSN (PSASBR, Sound Shapes)?

  • @ 103, LeFabuleuxDeux- Yes, just like “When Vikings Attack,” “Kyatt Underground,” “Retro City,” etc…

  • Where’s a update about PSone games? Have a lot of great PSone games available for PS3 and PSP, but isn’t available for PS Vita in PS Store. :(
Would be so good play Crash Bandicoot 1, 2, 3 and the Silent Hill in the PS Vita. *-*

  • Question for Morgan,

I’m a little confused about the Bentley’s Hackpack game. I bought the retail version Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, is the content from Bentley’s Hackpack already in the Sly Cooper game? Since it says “Featuring hacking mini-games from Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time”.

I just don’t want to buy it only to find out it the exact same thing. If its more mini games above & Beyond! what’s on the Sly Cooper disc, that’s fine. I’m sure other people are wondering this.

    Thanks

  • @104, Is this true even of PSASBR? I don’t see “cross buy” labelled on the PSN version, it’s only on the retail version that it is labelled as cross buy.

  • Where are borderlands 2 PSN Avatars, Every tuesday im hoping theres borderlands 2 PSN avatars, cmon game of the year, shooter of the year

  • I would’ve liked to download Final Fantasy 5, but for whatever reason it’s still not available on the PS Vita PSN. So…

  • Good thing I just bought the ps vita disk version……I was going to get the ps3 version for the vita version but my card is already almost over the limit and 3.5 gb will make me have to delete ps allstars & gravity rush and im not doin it…lol

  • @110 The ps3 disc of Sly Cooper includes the vita as a bonus.

@106 The hacking games are done during the jobs in game, thus why Bentley’s Hackpack exist.

  • “Play a pixel-perfect rendition of Atari’s classic Asteroids”

Asteroids is a vector-graphics based game. It is impossible for us to play a pixel-perfect rendition of Asteroids because traditional “pixels” don’t exist on vector displays (and because we all have matrix or raster scan displays anyway.)

    Sorry… that just bugs me.

  • @107 I bought PS All Stars on PSN and from buying the PS3 version, the Vita version appeared in my download list.

Does anyone know if the disc benefits for Sly 4 are fixed yet? I don’t want to walk back to my apartment to redeem it and find out it’s still not ready yet.

  • Yep $45 of day one DLC for Dead Space 3. Welcome to the next generation. ;p

  • Well, now when I go to disc benefits for sly 4 it just hangs for five minutes on “please wait” and then gets an error.

It seems to be getting worse…

  • @BLite: Stop being smarter than the average consumer and marketer put together. ;)

  • I knew there was going to be a problem with the disc version of the game for vita i posted it yesterday!! sony you are screwed up !! that’s why i pre order the vita version at game stop !!!! you got me once with the R&C FFA CROSS BUY that we still don’t have !! LOL !! Good Luck Guys !! DONT BUY ANY GAMES JUST FOR CROSS BUY ANYMORE ITS A FAIL !!

  • Why don’t you just include a code for the cross buy games? It would actually work, and there would be no functional difference from the disc benefit feature.

  • @117 Cross buy is a great thing, and it’s worked just fine in plenty of ways. Just because there are a few bugs being ironed out as we speak doesn’t make it bad. The PSN version of Sly 4 is working great for cross buy, and I can still play my PS3 copy while I wait for it on my Vita.

Let me list off a couple games that I didn’t need to buy twice thanks to cross buy:
Sound Shapes, Retro City Rampage, PS All Stars, Bentley’s Hackpack, LittleBigPlanet’s DLC, Sly 4 by tomorrow, and Full Frontal Assault once they release the Vita version.

Cross Buy is a brilliant plan, just with some slight execution issues. It’s anything but a fail.

  • @119 Cross buy is great. Digitally. So far, in physical practice via disc benefits it has been almost nothing but problems. If they would just include redemption codes it would be perfect, but this needless disc registering system is ruining this.

Sly 4 would be working right now had they used codes.

  • @119 PLEASE EVERY GAME YOU LISTED ARE DL GAMES NONE ARE DISC AND SO FAR 2 HAVE BEEN A FAIL LMAO R&C WAS RELEASED LAST YEAR THEN DELAYED WTF THEN THEY SAID JAN 29 AND BAM NOTHING NOT EVEN A WORD THEY WONT EVEN REPLY TO A POST ABOUT IT …. WELL MAYBE NOW THEY WILL LOL!! YOU KEEP WAITING AND ENJOY YOUR STAY AT HOME VERSION

  • @120 I’ve seen plenty of issues with codes before. Arkham City used bonus DLC codes in their games, and many of the discs shipped without it. I’ve had codes that came with games I’ve tried to redeem but didn’t work. I like that I could buy a used copy of a game and I can still get a Vita copy. (I haven’t tried that, though.) Not to mention, if you’ve noticed, Sly 4 didn’t ship with a manual. Printing stuff costs money, and making the Cross Buy work this way is much more cost effective.

  • 15 days till I go on amazon.com and pledge a whole lot of money to the gods of video games

  • @113 @115 You’ll have to wait awhile as its currently being fixed.

  • @122 The digital manual was intentional according to Sanzaru on another blog post.

  • @122

    “Making crossbuy work this way”

If only it did work. PSABR had issues, Ratchet doesn’t even have the option yet, and this one isn’t working at all. Frankly, Codes don’t work 100% of the time, but they certainly work the vast majority of the time. That’s much more than we can say for disc benefits and cross buy.

They clearly don’t have a functioning system in place for it, and shouldn’t be doing it this way because of that.

  • @121 You should really get your shift button fixed or turn off caps lock. You’re right about all of them being digital, but you said all of cross buy “IS A FAIL.” Get your argument (and grammar) straight. I’m not opposed to waiting an extra day or so to get my Vita version. I paid an extra $10 so I can get better graphics, 3D, and the ability to loan it to friends on top of what you got. I don’t mind playing it on PS3 for an extra day for them to work out their issues. Seriously, a short delay isn’t a big deal to me.

As for FFA, I don’t plan on buying it until the Vita version is available. When it is, I’m just going to go half and half with a friend who wants it for PS3. Again, waiting is cool with me. Having the game is better than not having it.

@125 Really? I checked it out, and I thought it was pretty neat. They did a great job with it. Who says that it didn’t help cut costs, though? That’s why Vita games don’t ship with manuals.

Is it intentional for Sly 4 to not have a print manual in the case? I bought this a bit ago for Ps3 and not iced no print manual, just a digital one.

+ Cristian Cardona on February 5th, 2013 at 10:52 am said:

Yes, that was intentional. The manual is digitally on the disc.

  • @127 Look Have FUN im on the vita version as we have are last words disc version crossbuy is Junk and a Fail .. I don’t wish it was but it is I will never buy another one again … Well maybe if the have it Fix 100% 0 Fail then i might take another stab at it in the future

    GL

  • @128 Huh. That’s cool. I’m pretty sure that it was still to cut costs, though, since he never gave a reason for it. That’s why manuals are mostly going away/digital now.

  • @126

Ratchet does have the disc benefits Option on the game on the XMB but it does not work

  • @130 Some of the time when getting games used, the manual is missing. I thought I got ripped off when I got the game new.

  • Last week you said Cubixx was going to be free through the 6th. It’s not the 6th yet and it’s $2.99. did something change?

  • the thing i loved the most was One Piece 50% off, and the DLC too, i had to sell some stuff, to get the 40$ card, but i gladly did it for One Piece ^_^, now if next week collection, you can add Sleeping Dogs like the EU, or something of equal fun….. Batman Arkham CIty GoTY edition, then no one will complain about the EU getting Sleeping Dogs… hell even Metal gear Collection HD, or DMC Collection or God of War 3, something that epic will make everyone forget the EU offers :) we USA, we should always ONE up everyone hahhaahhaa

  • I would love to try PlayStation mobile, but my HTC One S, is not compatible because T-Mobile has yet to update the device.

  • Sly Cooper Theives in Time has my highest reccomendation, to anyone on the line about getting it. I’ve vested a good amount of time into it today, and I’m amazed how well it turned out. Great fun for a low price.

  • Fantastic update. Really awesome that Aqua Kitty is free! Cool that Puzzle Quest: Galactrix got a price drop. Hopefully the original gets a price drop soon too. And I’m very tempted to pick up Sly despite my backlog to show support.

  • I keep getting error codes from Disc Benefits. Is the problem still trying to be solved?

  • For everyone asking about Sly 4 for Vita with CrossBuy

Wait until RNC FFA to see the light or at least Sony Breaks The failure of communication, then ask about Sly 4 on vita

Ratched and Clank : Full Frontal Assault has been missing for disc benefits for over 60s or more/less with no sign or info or respond from Sony or whom every in charge about it.

Realy things is getting worse At Sony’s US in top of all in all getting worse everywhere :(

please we need an answer about RNC FFA at least – Yes I will wait for 2-4 months before I buy Sly cos it might take that long until we see Cross-anything with it.

  • Funny thing, just for giggles I tried they’d Disc Benefits for R&C FFA and received the same download error we are getting for SC… We need a new Vita title R&C team with CS in – We Can’t Get Our Cross Buy On! Lombax and Raccoon sort of look similar…

  • @139 Ratchet and Clank: FFA has been delayed on Vita. You can’t even buy it normally on the PS Store. The reason you don’t have it is because it doesn’t exist yet for consumers. I’m sure once it’s ready (got delayed for a few months), there will be plenty of press so you can download your free copy.

  • I see absolutely no reason why you can’t link every single item on sale (or new items) in this post so that we can easily click on them and it would take us directly to the web PSN store…

  • @142 If only. The web store is still on work, but you can already do this with xbox.

  • So much Vita lovin’! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • How about Final Fantasy 5 for the Vita? I already paid my dues, dammit! It’s time for your effort. Release it already! Can you believe Europe has that game from the get-go? LMAO! Jeezus!

  • Another Sony Day 1 purchase another, dropped ball by Sony!! When is this company going to figure it out!? I’ve been loyal to this company for years (Since PlayStation), and it’s the same story every launch! Today is Sly! Sony are you sure about launching the PS4? It seems almost every game you release, it is messed up on Day 1! Get your act together, it does not look professional, nor does it look premium!

  • Sly 4 is quite a large download, is it possible to move up the time they get updated to the store? I know that Dead Space 3 got uploaded at midnight, due to the increasing size of retail full games on psn it would make it easier for some to play on release day if all full games were treated this way.

  • I hope Sly 4 sells well but it doesn’t seem that games that had disc release sold enough to make a profit. I haven’t seen commercials for this game nor did I see any on PS All Stars; the only one I saw for PS AS, didn’t even represent the game well IMO. Many complain how The Show isn’t going to be Cross Buy but it doesn’t need to any that benefit in order to sell copies….they know people will buy the PS3 version and those with Vita’s will also buy it (not leaving $ on the table).

  • With regards the the question about the Final Fantasy Sale. Final Fantasy 3 is the only numbered Final Fantasy game that is NOT on a Playstation system. Squaresoft thought that Americans were too stupid to be able to beat Final Fantasy 2 and 3 according to popular belief. They didn’t release them and the second game to reach US shores was Final Fantasy 4.

Don’t worry though, the Final Fantasy 2 in Origins IS the actual Final Fantasy 2 and it’s only available on the Playstation. Final Fantasy 3 is only available on the Nintendo DS unfortunately but it’s still a good game nonetheless. I had a DS before but the touch-screen died after a couple of years so now I only have my PS3 and PC to play games on.

I wish that they would pack all of the Nintendo and Super Nintendo Final Fantasy games with slightly better graphics on all major consoles. I’d buy that even if they asked $60. Any more would be highway robbery.

It WAS scheduled for a PS2 release but unfortunately Nintendo convinced Square Enix to instead put it on the DS. If you want to play Final Fantasy 3 then you’ll have to either put up with the Japanese version on the Nintendo or get a DS. Either way, you can’t play it on the PS3.
