Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault Coming to PS Vita in January

As many of you may know, when you purchase Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault for PS3, you’ll also be entitled to receive a downloadable version for your PS Vita system with cross-save and competitive cross-play support.

Our friends at Tin Giant have been working hard to bring Insomniac’s PS3 game to PS Vita and to ensure that your experience is packed with all the action and polish you’d expect from a Ratchet & Clank game. In order to provide the best gameplay experience possible, the PS Vita version of Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will be coming out in January 2013. The PS3 version will still be available for purchase at participating retailers and on PSN starting on November 27, 2012.

As a reward to fans for their patience, we will be giving them the first piece of DLC for the title, the Mini-Boss Skin Pack, as a bonus with their purchase of Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault for PS3. This skin pack features three fan-favorite boss characters from past Ratchet & Clank games, including Chainblade from Going Commando and the Two-eyed Tyrhrranoid from Up Your Arsenal. Take a peek at these new skins in the screen below.

  • a few questions: will the vita and ps3 version differ from eachother? oh and i got an idea you should port deadlocked to vita when you release it!

  • Why wasn’t the delay announced a month ago ? surely something didn’t come up in the last week to make you guys say *WHOA better delay it for the Vita !* I mean the game is coming out in 2 weeks, Im more just venting at the moment since It was something I was desperately looking forward to play on my Vita.

  • Wow. I’m disappointed, but this is a lot of hate for things that are sometimes out of their control. Next time they may not even offer to do a Vita version for free with cross buy…

  • Well one positive that you guys can take from all of this is that there is a Huge demand for Vita support out there and many including myself will buy! :) I hope you guys personally develop something for the Vita. You tried a Facebook game, there is a big enough market for Vita games to be profitable.

  • wow, some of these comments are mind boggling …. many folks buying the PS3 version are also looking fwd. to the Vita version & were interested in the cross buy feature, so we too will have the delay on the Vita version, & as such, will also qualify for the free skins … additionally, the PS3 & Vita versions are made by 2 different companies, & it is not a delay on behalf of the PS3 version – so who would be served by delaying the console disc, when it is the vita version that requires more time ? goodness, there is an amazing sense of entittlement …. I’m sure if they were able, they would have launched the Vita version on the 27th, now we’ll wait an extra few weeks for something that will benefit from additional time …. a little patience & maturity might be in order ….. it’s a game, not a kidney transplant ….

  • Yes more PS Vita games incoming finally more good games yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I’m fine with this. I want the Vita version to be the best it can be since it was outsourced. I’d rather it be done right than wrong just to get it out there on the same day as the PS3 version. Buying the game at retail anyway, and being able to have some free skins on top of this is just great! :D

So thank you Insomniac (or Sony, or both) whoever made that decision to give us something you didn’t have to.

@40: Exactly. They’re JUST SKINS. So you should be okay with not having them. You sound ridiculous. “Something I don’t need and can do without isn’t free? HOW DARE YOU!”

  • Damn, I just recently got into cross-playing on the go and I was really looking forward to getting this for that. I’ll probably wait till January now…

  • hell yeah

  • Insomniac, your doing great. I thankyou for the generosity of doing the cross buy option. Ignore all the complaints and I can’t wait for your game.

Support development with your money and not ridiculous comments.

  • I got a question…is this game as long as Tools of Destruction,Crack in Time,All 4 One…..to be a retail?….I thought it would be a PSN game alike in terms of long and short lol….until I saw this post….so whats up with that?

  • Correcting my post:I thought this Ratchet would be available only on PSN and not as retail too.

  • Is this game like Dungeon Defenders? If so, $20 seems VERY reasonable, as the $15 I spent on DD was the best value for money ever. SO much content, story, co-op, extra modes, RPG elements and replayability and FUN in that game, $15 turned out to be the best value for money ever spent on a PSN game. This looks like it’ll be just as good. I just hope the DLC doesn’t turn out to be overpriced to make up for it.
