Dishonored (Also on PSN) — Dishonored is set in Dunwall, an industrial whaling city where strange steampunk- inspired technology and otherworldly forces coexist in the shadows. You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is besieged by plague and ruled by a corrupt government armed with industrial technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon you abilities beyond those of any common man – but at what cost? The truth behind your betrayal is as murky as the waters surrounding the city, and the life you once had is gone forever.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown — XCOM: Enemy Unknown will place you in control of a secret paramilitary organization called XCOM. As the XCOM commander, you will defend against a terrifying global alien invasion by managing resources, advancing technologies, and overseeing combat strategies and individual unit tactics.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown will expand on that legacy with an entirely new invasion story, enemies and technologies to fight aliens and defend Earth. You will control the fate of the human race through researching alien technologies, creating and managing a fully operational base, planning combat missions and controlling soldier movement in battle.

  • Rey, that avatar of your looks an awful lot like Matt Smith.

    Not complaining.

  • deff gonna check out derrick the death fin. looks great!

  • Sweet! I’ve been waiting ages for Retro City Rampage to be released for the vita. Definitely gonna be a day one buy for me. Long live the vita!!

  • Machinarium is more adorable than LittleBigPlanet.

    There, I said it.

    Buy this game.

  • @13 Nope. Naughty Bear (Gold Edition) is the same as the disc version released prior. Naughty Bear: Panic In Paradise is an entirely different game.

  • Great drop but where is Wrestlefest and more PSone classics?

  • pretty weak update, imo. I really hope more Tokyo Jungle and One Piece dlc come out at least.

  • @ 37 and 38, quit posting the same crap 2-3x, always the same each time I see you.

  • Dishonored has ugly design characters ,i dont understand why gamespot rating 9/10 ..I’m rating 4/10 overall

  • So does RCR have cross buy?

Dishonored looks so awesome, but I’m gonna have to wait for Black Friday… running low on $$$ after ordering the Pulse headset this week.

Joe Danger 2 is a must have… I waited to see if it was coming to PS3, and the wait paid off. I knew Hell Games wouldn’t let the PS3 people who made Joe Danger a hit down.

Really want to try out Sherlock Holmes when it hits the budget pile… looks like a sleeper hit.

XCOM Enemy Unknown looks really generic. Not a $60 game IMO.

Anyway, great week to be a games. I love the holiday release schedule. It just gets better week after week leading to Christmas.

  • so what are the plus perks this time?just renewed my membership but it doesnt seem like it paying for its self this time.for me at least.the last several weeks have been a let down.does anyone else feel this way?

  • Birds of Steel is great.

  • is Retro City Rampage going to be $14.99?

  • yes so far PS plus stuff this month sux but the month just started so we wont know till its over and only nfl blitz free so far also

  • Awesome drop this week. I am def getting RCR Tuesday as soon as the store updates. If I knew how the rest of the month pans out for digital releases. Already committed to ac 3 liberation. Spending at least 100 bucks for the 20 buck deal in November.

Already plan on getting ac3 vita, retro city rampage, and walking dead(please be Tuesday and just announce the day before like you did last release). That’s at least 60 bucks. Waiting to see how the rest of the month pans out. Sounds amazing so far. Keep up the huge release schedule.

  • ERMAHGERRRRRRD
    Retro City Rampage FRIG YEAH
any LBP costumes out this week? would love to pick up that turkey and pumpkin head for my sackboy

  • I would urge people to look into XCOM: Enemy Unknown; it looks very, very compelling. As an aside to the already demonstrated quality of the game, reviews should be out in ~4.5 hours.

  • How much will Birds Of Steel cost?

  • OH MY!! Someone has answered my prayers, and it seems as if I’ll be blessed with RETRO flippin’ CITY flippin’ RAMPAGE!! Not just for my PS3, but also for my Vita?! Why did I already know about this?!

The only thing that could make this wonderful week better is if, well, you know, RCR gets a Plus discount. *wink* *wink*

  • XCOM is going to be one hell of an awsome game no one should pass up. There are dozens of previews out there that praise this game non stop, plus all the reviews that have come out so far have been really high.

I’ve watched a few hours of gameplay and I have to agree, tomorrow this is all I’ll be playing for awhile.

  • @59 guitarded77

You obviously have not looked at XCOM at all have you? Generic? Please point out one single game that has similar gameplay…

While Dishonered on the other hand… there are numurous games that follow the stealth thief gameplay, and imagine that, one of them was actually called Thief *rolls eyes*

  • XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a thinking man’s game. You plan out your unit’s tactics, decide what technology to develop, customize loadouts for units and aircraft. It’s a very strategic game.

I’m getting it at launch. I agree, those that are saying it’s generic need to take a longer look at it.

  • Will X-com be available on PSN tomorrow ???

  • Wow, has anyone else checked out Machinarium? It looks awesome. Very creative. That’s something I’d love to play on Vita.

  • Any news if the Dual Shock 3 (Slate Grey) would come to North America?

  • @40: Yeah, I tried finding stuff about it and there’s not much and the gameplay I did see felt like a 3DS game. I know it’s on there too, but that doesn’t mean it has to look so bad on PS Vita.

    So unless there’s a demo, I’ll pass.

  • @72 Roda09

I think it is retail only, but perhaps they will do a digital release, I just haven’t heard anything one way or the other.

  • Finally Machinarium on PS3!
    THANK YOU!

  • @59 RCR will be cross buy. @62, Yes RCR will cost $14.99…..Keep on Gaming.

  • Love Doctor Who, just wondering how much its gonna cost

  • Eagerly awaiting the rest of this month PS+ content. I know we’ll never get the same value that Europe gets, just please give us something worthwhile. I’m tired of complaining.

  • People calling xcom generic are obviously wrong. Maybe they meant boring. To me it looks like checkers with little cinematics here and there. Which doesn’t sound like a $60 game to me.

  • Nothing really that I want.
That’s kinda good. My wallet was starting to feel the burn and I still haven’t had the chance to purchase some games that came out already like:

    Angry Birds Trilogy
    God of War Saga
    Resident Evil 6
    Resistance Burning Skies (Vita)
    Sonic 4 Episode I
    Sonic 4 Episode II
    Sonic Generations
    Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection
    Star Wars Force Unleashed
    Star Wars Force Unleashed 2
    Tekken Tag Tournament 2
    The Sly Collection
    Yakuza 3
    Yakuza 4
    Yakuza Dead Souls

    .
    .
    .
Speaking of Yakuza. I hope that the Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Collection gets a US release on disc. If it does, I am hoping that they keep Japanese voices w/ English subtitles & text for the original since the original PS2 release had English dubs (and from 2 and til now we’ve had Japanese w/ English subtitles).

Then there are those games that have yet to come out like Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed III Liberation (Vita), Dragon’s Crown, Yakuza 5, Zone of the Enders HD Collection, etc etc.

  • Rey i have one concern i pre ordered Dishonered and Doom 3 bfg, now i did this to show support for sony but we don’t evem get a reply if theses games are getting a midnight release. If they do not i will not buy anymore day 1 released games on the psn, not only are we giving up pre order perks like extra content ect but we also get the games later than enyone else, we support you guys you should also show us some love too its not a big thing to save 10 bucks on games if were not even getting them at midnight and sony should also give perks for pre ordering games on the psn, i would like a response to this issue, i want to support you guys but its getting really hard when we get ignored.

  • I need more money

  • @83..I see your point, but in all fairness. PSN is updated at a random time every tuesday, so Its safe to say that you, me and everyone else that wants to purchase items on PSN, will have to wait till the store is updated to get said games. My question to you is, your still getting the game on the same date, so why the uproah ???

  • @ colstripcapn

Hey, to each their own. If you think it looks great, more power to you. I don’t tell you what to like or dislike, so don’t get up in my business. We clearly have different ideas of what a good looking game is, and that’s what makes the gaming industry diverse… so go enjoy XCOM… I won’t bother comparing it to other games since I’m offering a civil discourse to your insane passion for the game. I will leave you to grow up now.

  • Derrick the Deathfin and Retro City Rampage!!!

  • I hope this weeks PSN Plus update will live up to the European one, since they are gettting TWO new retail games (Resident Evil Gold Edition and Bulletstorm) AND a brand new PSN game. They have been getting so many retail games over the months, it should be our time again, shouldn’t it? XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Worms Revolution would be great free psn games, maybe also Tokyo Jungle! (That game neeeeds a demo at least!). And where is motorstorm apocalypse? Please Blow our minds this weeks… pleaaaaase! Love the service but seeing our EU friends getting showered in A+ retail games while we keep getting PSN games is just painful! Never gonna be able to convince my friends to join PSN Plus if the games list doesnt improve :(

  • #85 I have supported sony since the ps1, all i am saying is that pre ordered games should be midnight releases. Here the store updates are at 7pm it takes 2 hours to download the game about half an hour to install so by the time i start playing it’s 9 pm 11 hours after its been released. Sony should implement midnight releases or there is no reason to show support to them, i save 10 bucks big deal i am showing sony some love they should work at doing the same or even doing the updates alot earlier. This question about midnight releases has been asked before and its been ignored.

  • and pleaaase DON’T give us Machinarium for free, there are so many other great and better things we could get instead!

  • in totlal agreement with xGrandpaGamer, the store updates around here at 9pm sometimes and we definitely deserve at least a message from playstation that has a link directing us to the midnight download or this preorder is a waste since we end up not even getting to play day one sine we are waiting a couple of hours for the download and install. i know sony could even have it install on its own (a ps+ perk supposedly) and then we wouldn’t have to mess with doing it ourselves… especially after getting up, going to work all day and coming home to see that not only do i have to wait 3 to 4 more hours for a store update just so i can start the 2 to 3 hour download and install and then maybe play for a half hour before midnight :/

  • Ginsu3000 i finally found someone with the same concerns but it doesn’t look like we will ever get a response from sony they want our support but they do not go the extra mile for us i guess after i get the games i pre ordered im done with day 1 releases on psn.

  • hi all

does anyone know how much Devil May Cry: HD Collection & Retro City will be???

  • ERMA-FRIGGIN-GERD!!!!!!!
King of fighters xiii is free for ps plus members!!!!!!!!!

  • @86 guitarded77

That’s what I thought, you can’t name a similar game to back up your ‘generic’ comment.

Answering a question with an insult as you have is hardly being mature, so I’m not sure I understand why you say I’m the one that should ‘grow up’?

  • @ colstripcapn

Oh my… you are a loser. I said be happy with your poor man’s Halo sci-fi faulty physics jump shooter. When you’re done with it, you can play any number of clones like Section 8… Steam is packed full of them for $10 to $15. There, are you satisfied… or has the empowerment of anonymity on the internet made you feel like a big guy? Go play your game kid… enjoy it… my comment was never addressed to you, and you have no reason to defend the game on the interwebz. Like I said earlier… to each their own. I don’t care what you like/dislike, so stay out of my business troll.

  • Machinarium and Testament of Sherlock Holmes…Sony just take my money!

  • @91 @92 Completely agree, I would always buy over PSN if they had discounted price/midnight release/pre-download like Steam. You can do it Sony, the question is will corporate greed hold you from it? I think in the long-run you’d actually turn a larger profit but corporations tend to think in the short-term.

  • Once again no White Knight Chronicles II DLC or 1.02 patch.

    So far Machinarium looks good.
