  • Morgan, you said that you’re (meaning Sony) working as hard as possible to get all of the PS1 titles up on the Vita store. Is the team that handles getting these on Vita vastly smaller than the teams at SCEE and SCEJ? I just want to understand WHY we only have nine and they have over 130. I’m trying to understand it. When PSP Go came out, a HUGE amount of PSP games were available digitally. When PSP started supporting PS1 (or it did from the getgo, like PSP games on Vita; I can’t remember), they didn’t come in 9-game chunks. Has the team changed?

Please help me as a customer understand why this is happening. Why is Vita the only system that has the “we’re working hard to get more out there” for backwards compatibility when it supposedly has the easiest development platform? Six months later, and we still don’t have all digital PSP games working, we don’t have all minis working, and now this is what feels like a death blow.

Contrary to your spin, this is a bad time to be a Vita owner.

  • Great job on the marketing ploy with R&C there -.- You cannot possibly say it wasn’t, because how hard would it be to take what is already on there and put it in a bundle together? They exist, they’re there, you just choose to charge 14.99 for each of them.

So curious, are you guys planning on actually replacing 3 games at the beginning of the month on PS Plus, or are you doing this BS thing where you replace one, and then the other two the week after like you did LAST month?

  • Also, the point of being an early adopter of something (ie Vita) is that there are perks to getting it EARLY. Not things that show up 6 months later and make you wish you’d just waited and gotten other things in that time period, and simply bought the Vita later. That was a ridiculous comment to make.

  • Why does Sony charge their digital titles for more than retail when it obviously should be the opposite? Take a note from Steam who has constant sales & is very successful.

  • Sony, Sony, Sony. you’re awfully late today! Do you have a problem with the east coast of the U.S? Anyway, just tried the Rock Band Blitz demo. It’s a lot of fun! I also really want the God of War Saga. Sadly, I have 64 cents. Hey! Anyone here want to send me some money?! Just kidding :)

    ( OR MAYBE NOT)

  • double dragon neon, just 2 weeks….just 2 weeks, cmon….I CANT WAIT ANY LONGER! AAAAAAAAAH! BIMMY AND JIMMY!

  • Retro Grade is remote play compatible with VITA and it looks awesome!!

  • For anyone getting Rock Band Blitz:
The 25-song soundtrack for Blitz is a separate download at around 750MB. Access to download the song pack will only appear in-game when you play it for the first time.

Morgan: about comment 44 of the MSRP price drops, they were all Sony-published games. Google “Sony MSRP changes effective August 14th” to see what Mauaus was talking about. Many of those retail games are also on PSN.

  • I never liked the whole, buy some thing on plus at a discount then loose it forever when you loose the subscription. What happens to the guy last week (asking about why Need for speed was removed from the store) when his ps3 hdd dies or he deletes it from his hdd for room? Is that game still on his download history and he can just down load it when ever or is it off the store permanently? And if he is still able to download it (since he did pay for it) why wouldn’t the rest of us be able to buy it?

  • Sorry if this has been posted earlier but, why does the Resident Evil DC Claire say (Mansion Incident) instead of Raccoon City Incident or perhaps Memoirs of a Lost City?

  • Sorry, I meant Memories not memoirs >_<

  • It’s insane the amount of complaint coming from unsatisfied users, and the death ears Sony gives at them, every single week.
We have the right to complain and we have the right also to stop buying your stuff, so people gather around and STOP BUYING !!! the only way “they” will start paying any attention on your complaints, its when “they” don’t get any more money from us, “the sucker’s” who keep buying the crap they offer every week.

  • Damn sony. This a joke?………Only 9 psx games….

I could let this slip if you put the mgs pw hd for vita. Or just put the regular psp game at 19.99 or lower.
No reason for a psp game that costs more than the hd one.

Also put portable ops on the psvita stor while at it.

  • You should really drop some prices on PSP titles. Like BUZZ! Quiz World, Eye of Judgement Legends, Gangs on London, Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2, LocoRoco (more expensive than LocoRoco 2 for some reason), Parappa the Rapper, Pursuit Force, Secret Agent Clank, Wipeout Pulse (RIP Liverpool).

  • @Morgan when reading this post I get silly ideas that you may be doing something wonderful for early adopters like nintendo did with that 3DS contraption.

+ Morgan Haro on August 28th, 2012 at 5:03 pm said:

    3) we love the vita! there’s much to look forward to and you’ll be glad to be one of the early adopters when it’s all said and done.

Could we as early adopters be looking at some premium downloadable games for free? If yes say “no comment”, or say “no news at this time”

  • @157: Um, anything you buy with a Plus discount is yours forever. As far as stuff removed from the Store, I think it remains in your download list so you can still download it.

  • So much fail Vs SCEE. On EVERY level.

The EU has and is getting everything a gamer could ask for.
They announce their games well in advance, offer full PS3 games for Plus, have great new titles announced exclusive for Plus, offer a 25% discount on Plus, have 130+ ps one classics on Vita, and have a g-damn American racing game on their consoles. (NASCAR 2011)

What do we have? Bubkis. And it’s getting worse if this Walking Dead “can’t play even though you pay” crap is true!!

  • @157 I’ve recently looked for a demo that was removed and when I looked it up in dl history was able to redownload

  • Also cut all prices of the psp games. And work on compatibility of every game.

  • Lol that’s what I’m saying, I have not bought it. Maybe I would like to, but it’s not on the store anymore. Does that mean it is gone for good? Since you don’t work at sony I can’t take the “it will be in your dl history forever” comment seriously, no offence.

  • Picked up the Leviathan Add on for “Mess Effect” 3 and the Spelunker HD Add ons. Spelunker HD trophy set is now at 74. Great PSN title! Hope to see more of Spelunker HD in the future! Thank you

  • @168: Wut, if its not on the store, then you can’t buy it so it doesn’t matter. If it is removed from the store that just means no one can buy it anymore. Not that you can’t access what you already bought.

  • Great drop IMO; PS1 support is off the ground, & lots of yummy content & DLC. Zen Pinball V2 now on the horizon! (=

  • Oh, and the Ratchet and Clank collection…that i’ll pick it up at my local Gamestop at a much lower price.

  • So ps2 classics are for a limited time only?

  • When is Crackle releasing on PS Vita?

  • @stmdpsn1 and CrusaderForever

Thanks, I keep forgetting about the touch screen options menu. Held the PS button with no luck, I should have thought a bit harder =p

  • Worse than usual. The Vita section literally has tumbleweeds in it because it’s so barren. The PSOne Classics fiasco is laughable a d the lack of communication as to why games work but cannot be downloaded directly is asinine. I realize that this is falling on deaf ears, but y’all needs to fix yourselves. Soon.

  • “+ Morgan Haro on August 28th, 2012 at 5:03 pm said:

I too would like to know what you meant here Morgan because all I have to show as an early adopter is being the ever so lucky customer that gets to pay for overpriced hardware (250 for Vita, and way overpriced proprietary memory cards), overpriced software (30 bucks for a SD version of Metal Gear: Peace Walker when HD PS3 version is 20) and backwards compatibility with PSP and PSX games that is a joke. Not to mention the promised use of remote play for PS3 games and using the Vita as a controller for the PS3 that has yet to be delivered upon (and most likely will never be fully realized for either) in any kind of decent manner.

SO PLEASE MORGAN EXPLAIN TO US WHY BEING AN EARLY ADOPTER OF THIS JOKE OF A HANDHELD IS GOING TO MAKE US GLAD?

  • Sony really needs to rethink it’s digital game plan here…

So you can buy all 3 Ratchet and Clank games for $45 from PSN….
Ratchet & Clank ($14.99), Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando ($14.99), Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal ($14.99)

Or save $15.00 and buy the set from a retailer that starts with “A” and ends with “Z” for only $29.99?!

Does this make sense to anyone? Why wouldn’t I buy the actually disc with packaging that I can save and
play on any PS3 system now and into in the future or spend $15 more and get nothing but zeros and ones?

Seriously Sony. This should be cheaper for the digital version.. NOT MORE!
Savings from manufacturing and stocking costs are going where?

  • Great update, guys! Thanks Sony!
But one question: any release date for Okami HD, please? I am dying for this game. And I bet lots of players are too :D

  • I’m starting to think about sell my vita…there’s no games that i want to play on it

  • Guys, but in exchange for mass amount of PS one games we have The Walking Dead Ep 3 and other stuff =)))… We all suffer beacause of Sony’s bad management. All companies begun to fall from bad management =). I mean, why can’t SCEE and SCEA cooperate with each other to make everyone happy?

P.S. I really hate this region crap.

  • @ Kristine Steimer

I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but are we ever going to see those codes for the Super Stardust HD Impact DLC? It’s been 3 weeks, and I’m pretty much convinced at this point that they are never going to come.

    • Hrrmm. I was told that they were sent out last week. I’m sure you already did, but I have to ask, did you check your XMB messages?

  • Just want to say thanks for actually responding and addressing the poor selection of initial PS One titles for NA for the Vita. I can understand wanting to get things right or whatever. I just found the total lack replies by Don Mesa rather insulting in the 1.80 post. Good communication can go a long way and we’ve grown accustomed to it here which only added insult to injury with that post.

  • I agree with violent23. The individuals who have invested their hard earned money on products and services that Sony provides deserve an explanation, not false promises and absolutely useless excuses. Also, why haven’t you guys done anything to get psp games like metal gear portable ops available for the vita. As far as I know its been available in Europe for the ps vita owners since launch. I assumed that the majority of vita’s sold were in North America. If we are your biggest market then why no respect.

  • Well after watching Rockband Blitz on videos I thought it was going to be boring….WRONG! Great job (again) Harmonix this is a really fun game. A small requestion, which I believe others have said….PLEASE bring this to the VITA!

  • Sony you have really pissed off a lot of customers this week. First we get another week Plus update and then you announce that the NA Vita update will only have 9 games. What’s next the 1gb cloud save is actually only 500mb for NA.

@Morgan: When you answer questions sometimes you seem to make things worse with your horrible scripted answers. Sometimes I think it would be better if you didn’t say anything. Sony has had plenty of time to work on getting the PSone support ready for the Vita. How bout you get us a more detailed answer as why in the hell EU and JP get way more games than us and don’t say we are working as fast as possible again. That’s just a sorry excuse.

You guys on the US blog really need to step up your game. You always give us everything halfa$$ed. You look at the EU blog and their Plus is full of details as when stuff like when the games each expire.

    continued….

  • Hey Morgan/Kristine, any idea if or when we’ll see a demo for Rainbow Moon?

    Thx

  • continued from post #186:

The Vita update post was of course horrible and lacked any detail. Why not let people know that many games can be transferred by hooking the Vita to the PS3. It would have saved a lot of headaches and anger.

I’m surprised I never saw you answer any of the Plus update comments with “Wait till you see what’s coming next” cause it sure hasn’t gotten any better. I think the poll thing could work. So to get it started you could have a poll in September for November’s update. That way it would give you guys time to get it started. Then in October we would vote for December’s update. There now people would be happier cause I least they got to try and get something they were more interested in.

You do a pretty good job Morgan with responding to comments but you guys need to improve a lot on your customer service. People like shopping at places where the company appreciates their customers.

  • hmm nothing so interesting for Plus members today :(.

Btw, what happened to U3´s Fortune Hunter Club? why cant I get the new downloads for Free? :S

  • Can you add some instructions on psone games on vita. For example how do I stretch the screen? and how do you switch discs like with games like final fantasy 7 there is no option the home button takes you to the menu

  • $15 for each Ratchet and Clank game…
    $20 for Peace Walker…
$24 for an old Agarest jrpg game…

God, when will publishers learn to structure prices more reasonably on the psn store. this is ridiculous.

  • Don’t pick on the bloggers so much. They report what they have been told to say. We can all tell Morgan is chomping at the bit to tell us something to appease us but is being held back.

A guess I have is that PAX is going to drop something on us we never expected then The bloggers will be able to tell us what they’ve been dying to. We all know how this stuff goes. Major news can only be announced at conventions. SCEE had their opportunity on their home field (Europe) now SCEA has theirs with PAX in washington. Let’s wait Until the announcement next monday. A holiday mind you. Maybe they’ll have some promo “labor day of love” event or something. PAX will have something great for us, and hopefully lots great for plus members.

  • Yayy!! I knew that my money left this month will be great to buy the next WD episode, Thnak you Sony Team!!!

  • @Blu3bombr Just put the finger to the screen and hold, all options will show up for you there.

  • In response to my post #182.

Yes I’ve checked, and I just double checked again to make sure. And I know I’m not the only one….this is from the Super Stardust HD blog post…

  • just bought tony hawk and i love it!!

  • You know what’s sad? PS1 compatibility for NA was announced back in June during E3. That was almost 3 months ago. At that time, Jack’s remarks indicated that we would only be getting a small catalog of games, and lo and behold we really did.

Gamescom on the other hand, was only a few weeks ago, and Sony announced over 100 games for the EU region.

What does this tell us? Since June, SCEA didn’t work on expanding PS1 compatibility for NA. They were content releasing only a handful games. SCEE, on the other hand, had been working on PS1 compatibility. If SCEA is really working on expanding PS1 compatibility, they JUST STARTED doing it, not since E3. Is the team comprised of like 3 individuals or something? Lacking resource? WTH?

  • to all the PS+ folks who enjoyed & wish to finish the Walking Dead series, you’re better off buying the seasons pass for $20 than the 3 $5 episodes, b/c this way you actually own all the content for a $5 difference …. all add on content to +freebies work the same way – if + expires, you can’t access the add on content …. I took the 2 free episodes of Walking Dead & loved them …. I have an investment to see my character through the end & wanted always to have access (even though I doubt I would discontinue plus) besides which, I think TellTale deserves financial support for the remarkable series they are producing ….. I don’t feel upset or cheated in the least by Sony …. they provided me an experience I would have otherwise missed out on (this is my 1st Zombie game) & since I have enjoyed it as much as I have, I was happy to pay for the experience …. I doubt the other 3 episodes will be free anytime soon, so might as well pony up & pay for the pleasure ….

LBP Vita was my #1 reason for a launch week purchase – so September is going to be an awesome month for me !
