There are lots of great PS2 classic titles available on the Store today, mainly of the Ratchet and Clank variety. The original, plus Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal are available. Oh, Insomniac, I see what you did there.

Music games don’t always need a bunch of plastic peripherals. Rock Band Blitz is a modified version of the rhythm games you know and love, but all you need is a controller. Blitz is very leaderboard-focused, so if you like proving to your friends that you’re the best, you should check out the demo.

It’s been a long time coming, but Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition is hitting PSN today. Loved by critics and fans alike, the HD version of Peace Walker is now a part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Edition Bundle, which you can get for $39.99. Bundles are very “in” right now.

Remember when we announced PSone support for PS Vita? Well, a good chunk of titles are now compatible with PS Vita. Check out yesterday’s blog post for a full list of everything you can download today.

There’s plenty of stuff hitting the Store today, so let us know what you think of the games and deals in the comments section below.

  • A MONTH later to download the R&C Collection is a serious misfire. If anything, it should be available to download a month BEFORE retail, so that dedicated fans of the franchise can access the content. Seriously, large publishers, like Sony, complain with some justification, about trade-ins and reselling games, but when digital sales are treated like this, then it’s no wonder people buy the disc just to play it and then move it on. All you did here was give people a month to buy the game and sell it on, whereas you would have had a loyal fanbase of users willing to download this day one who will just not do so now.

  • When will WWE13 be avilable on psn?, Will there be a demo, will we be able to pre-order it?

  • @200 they haven’t put any full WWE games on psn before now, so i don’t think they’ll start now.

  • what happend to Tony Hawk Pro skater HD it was there a moment ago for 14.99. I see the free Dynamic Theme but the game got removed. I’m becoming disappointed with the missing releases (Killzone, GTA 3, T.H.P.S) Whats going on?

  • Does anyone know if the Europe PSN stores ps one classic games are any different than the ones here? I heard that the ones in Europe are slower and have not as good graphics than the ones here in the US. Is it true?

  • You guys just seem to be pushing away customers week after week! This instant game collection was the worst thing to come to PSN.

    1) Alot of people already own the games being offered which obviously make them (and me) feel cheated.

    2) Now that we see how it’s going down, this is making us customers stop spending money on games because we just prefer waiting for it to come free for PS+.

Not only are you making us unhappy, you guys are now making your customers scrooges. I see quite alot of PS+ subs going down the drain very soon (mine included).

Just btw, went over to the EU blog and it’s amazing how positive their comments section sound compared to this wasteland (Borderlands reference for next update).

  • Really wish we could get all the Metal Gear games working on Vita.
Mostly, I want Metal Gear AC!D 1 and 2 to be available though.

With all the Metal Gear games out now, Konami could probably have made a Metal Gear AC!D3 by now.

  • Why can’t you give a reason why we only got 9 PS1 titles? As it is, it makes no sense. If SCEE and SCEJ could get such a large number, then we should have too. It’s not like our Vitas aren’t all made from the same hardware.

This whole situation tastes a lot like the fiasco with the PSP titles, which BTW I’m still waiting for despite promises that support was coming soon. What a joke.

  • MGS:HD Collection is $40?! You can find this brand new in stores for half the price! This is why digital isn’t catching on as fast as it should be.

  • @207 i agree.

  • Probably not gonna get an answer to this, but what are the chances of a THPS demo? I was hoping for a full game trial, but am surprised there isn’t even a demo!
I would love to purchase the game, but have been burned by THPS and have heard mixed reviews on this one, so I was hoping to play a demo first. But, no demo, no sale. Sorry, guys.

By the way, anyone notice that Morgan (and now Kristine) NEVER answer anything past page 2 or (on rare occasions) page 3?

  • @DarqueDragon, that’s because there’s only so much PR spin can…spin lol.

  • I just want a day one digital download of Borderlands 2 on PSN and I’ll forget about the last 2 crappy months of store updates :)

  • I agree with RyuuHou24 about the R & C bundle deal. All the games in the bundle are already available for download on the store. How is it that the option to buy them all together is just magically unavailable… coupled with the statement, “the Ratchet & Clank Collection won’t be available digitally until 9/25” when the exact titles in the bundle are actually ON THE STORE RIGHT NOW? So, the single line of code that bundles the files together won’t be available for another month?

  • Skrawney: “Is that game still on his download history and he can just down load it when ever or is it off the store permanently? And if he is still able to download it (since he did pay for it) why wouldn’t the rest of us be able to buy it?”

^^^ This is another thing I’ve been wondering about myself. I’d like to know exactly how it works. Sometimes games get removed from the store but are still available to download if you already purchased them. So obviously, the file remains on the servers. Which makes you wonder why they wouldn’t just leave it out for sale. It’s not like a digital marketplace ever faces the problem of running out of shelf space…

I’m sure it all boils down to some pointless contractual BS as usual, but I’d really like to hear a detailed explanation from the store team.

  • Will there ever be any kindgom hearts avatars?

  • @214 i hope so.

  • Are the sales one week only? I ask because Im apart from my PS3 and I cant dowload anything this week

  • please people i read these blogs and all i see is that ps+ in europe is getting this and that free dead space 2 free deus ex and free motorstorm and we do not, wow do you know that these games are 14.99 or less at gamestop dead space 2 is 10 dollars. Sony does care about its customers ps+ is great full game trials discounts and not to mention online is free if you hate sony so much stop complaining and go buy an xbox 360 and dont support sony and buy the way do not forget about the extra 60 bucks for online play. Ive been gaming since the early 70’s and now a days there are few true gamers. True gamers play games because we love them we dont worry if it has trophy support, come on people lets truly support these guys and if your not stop whining and got to microsoft and see if they will give you anything. And morgan great job kid and keep it coming/

  • @MorganHaro Cannot wait for Ratchet and Clank Trilogy.. will it be the same as the retail release, or will it be discounted?

    P.S. really digging the beard

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH PLAYSTATION…… this is what I’ve been waiting for… thank you and keep them coming!

  • Walking Dead Episode 3… Finally something to do while this semester slowly gets started. Payday is right around the corner so I might have to pick up something else also.

  • oh yeah.. could you look into Legend of Legaia for PS1 Classics and Legaia: Dual Saga for PS2 on PSN. that would be stellar.. some great RPG’s that got overshadowed by other great RPG’s like Final Fantasy. I dunno the Legaia series I really enjoyed.

  • Rainbow Moon has made a lot of people fans of East Asia Studios / SideQuest, including myself. It’d be nice to see a PS+ bundle (at the least) for their well received Soldner games. It’s been like 2 years since initial release.

  • Can I download a PSN game from my computer so when I get my PS3 download the game there?

  • If someone can answer me I´ll be very happy

  • @Climb25…No

  • Good news Ps 1 games are playable on Vita.9 of them.Wait if you have a ps3 you can download whatever you have and it will work.Wait.Not all the titles show up.No worries there’s a list that shows which ones do.Wait no there’s not so it’s trial by error.Surely Sony mentioned this.Wait no they don’t they just keep promising it’ll get better.Sony this is your 3rd handheld launch yet you don’t seem to have a clue.Scee and Scej give their customers how many games without having a Ps3 and Scea gives us…9.People are upset and have no other way to contact you so this space fills up with complaints and sadly no actual answers. The Vita isn’t selling so neither are your memory cards. You need to sell both to make money.Want to know how?Nintendo currently has 5 handheld for sale and what do they all do?Play the original games. For those who say this isn’t an important feature re check the sales figures.I can get YouTube, netflix, facebook and twitter on my phone with much better battery life. It’s about the games Sony.Wake up.

  • Alright like i said in the PS+ blog post i dont normally complain ,but when i see something that is utter BS it needs called out.

First off before these whole “collections” were announced i remember the ratchet & clank “collection” was due on PSN the same day as the retail version. Then these collections were announced a month ago or so ,and it was mentioned the games would be avaliable when the collections come out on psn el carte.

Now here we are the collections are finally out yet digital players dont have access to the collections for another month. Why does there need to be a month delay between them? Especially when all the games are avaliable serperately (with exception of GoW3) on PSN already yet to buy them seperately is ridiclously more.

I waited for months ,and anticpiated the release of the RnC collection all month only to find out that we have to wait another month thats BS.

On top of that if the collection is 29.99 why are the PSN individual titles half the price of the collection itself. Thats absurd.

  • Tom Clancy’s EndWar for PSN

  • Well, a very nice update today! Sadly, I guess I was confused, cause I thought there was something releasing today I was going to buy. I was probably thinking ahead to next week, so oh well. I went ahead and bought Legasista (which is actually pretty darn fun) and Way of the Samurai 4 (will try it sometime in the next few weeks), and still have almost $150 in my PSN wallet. Looking forward to September! Zen Pinball 2, Pinball Arcade DLC and One Piece: Pirate Warriors!

    Oh, and Borderlands 2. :D

  • Tony Hawk HD desperately needs two-player split-screen.

  • If it was mentioned in the info screen when you go to purcahse the game that it did not have two player split screen I would’nt of bothered purchasing it in the first place. Oh well my bad for not doing more research. I just automatically assumed it did since all the other Tony Hawk games I have played did have it.

  • GUYS READ THIS:

If you own a PSvita AND PS3 you can perform a trick to bring unsupported PSvita PSone classics to the vita. But like said, you MUST own a PS3 to do it. First, Download your PSone classic to the PS3. (Example, Resident Evil), now after download transfer it to the Vita. After that install it on the vita. PROFIT. You dont need sonys stupid support lists to tell you only 9 are available. This exploit makes all psone classics available. You see, if fans can figure this method out and sony cant, theres an issue there! Enjoy!

  • 100+ PSOne tiles for EU and only 9 for US?!? (yes, I know there’s a way around this – talking “officially” here) Why do you continue to create PR Nightmares for yourself? Gee, really hard to figure out how you lost this generation’s console war.

  • Can you please tell Konami what a despicable business practice it is to release only 2 games in a collection separately, then the NEXT WEEK offer a bundle with all 3 games that’s $10 cheaper than buying them separately? Sony shouldn’t even LET them do that. You need to have some better rules in place for publishers, because they make the PSN look bad.

I was going to buy Peace Walker, but they just lost a sale. Peace Walker should not have been anymore than $15 (it really should be $10-$12). And the PSP version is ridiculously overpriced.

I’m going to suggest this to you guys at Sony again. If someone already owns a game in a bundle, make it so they can buy the bundle for the current price difference between the game they own and the bundle’s price.

  • I like the layout of this post;) Well done who ever done it.

  • I have to say that I am really disappointed in Sony here.

I really got into Ratchet and Clank more so on the PS3 than the PS2. I bought both of the main Ratchet and Clank Future games (not the PSN release), and I have been really looking forward to the HD releases. First I had to deal with the games being released in Europe and Australia first, now this non sense?

I haven’t been extremely pleased with my PS3 as of late, so I haven’t been buying many games for it, and when I do want to buy a game, you botch the release so badly?

I’m on vacation for the next two weeks

  • My options:

A)Pay way over price to get the games individually on PSN
B)Have to drive somewhere in Boston to buy the game in the morning and deal with gas, parking, and traffic (When I should be able to download the game… isn’t that the point of PSN, btw I’m a PSN Plus subscriber).
C)Wait until you release this game collectively in late September? After my vacation is over.

Is that really how you want to treat your customers?

I bought a PS1, PS2, PSP, and a PS3. Do you think this kind of service is going to convince me to buy a PS Vita?

There is a reason you’ve lost so much market share this generation, it’s because you don’t understand consumers, and you don’t understand developers/publishers.

Live in your world, play in ours? Obviously Sony doesn’t take that seriously.

P.S. Not sure how Jak Collection hasn’t recieved in updated price. Who runs the PlayStation Store? They should have been fired years ago.

  • fruitcakeS101, you obviously haven’t read the last EU store update with over 1000 comments of people not happy that SCEE failed to release Counterstrike or indeed give any indication of when it would be released, despite it being available for 360 in Europe.

I’d also like to point out that the amount of PS1 titles available in the EU is pretty limited compated to the US. For instance, where the hell is Castlevania:SOTN?

In the age of digital distribution, it appears that SCE needs to do better, whatever region they’re from.

  • i just bought Record of Agarest @ gamestop.com a month agao for 19.99! A digital code was emailed to me and then i dl to the PS3, why is Gamestop selling this game cheaper than sony? Seriously adjust your digital prices

  • Normally I don’t post comments but I’m curious how you guys justify charging $15 for each individual Ratchet and Clank game when the collection is only $30 and comes with extra stuff. If someone didn’t know the collection was delayed and wanted to download the games they would be paying an extra $15 and missing out on the Sly Demo. Why not just make the games $10 a piece and make the prices the same?

  • I only have one questiion for u guys i would
Apreciate if you could reply back ok,will u be
Adding PSone titles today too? Or will have
Wait until next tuesday? I guess in a clear
Direct question is would u be adding titles
Everyday? I would love to see some today
I want to play SOTN so bad but i dont have
A PS3 only Psvita can u add it today please.

  • Playing TWD episode 3 and it glitched on me. I was pretty far and now I have to start all over again.
Hopefully I remember which choices I’ve made :)

  • Thanks for the response Morgan, my post is #44 and the lowered MSRP titles are ALL 1st Party:

Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational – $19.99
    Little Deviants – $19.99
ModNation Racers: Road Trip – $19.99
    Reality Fighter – $19.99
    Resistance: Burning Skies – $29.99
    Uncharted: Golden Abyss – $39.99
    Unit 13 – $29.99
    Wipeout 2048 – $19.99

  • I am a fan of Fifa series but I think that it is really great that Konami makes more versions of PES 2013 download. With that Konami can “listen” more opinions from the players =)

  • So what happens to the games we downloaded for PSOne classics before this patch came out? I have FF7, FF9 and Chrono Cross that I want to play on the Vita but I cannot transfer it from my PS3 to the Vita. Can you please explain?

  • GREAT! Still no Cs:Go -.-

  • Please oh please tell me that September is going to be awesome for PS+!! I want crazy content!!

  • @247 Me too! Lets hope for the best!
What I really want the most for the next months is Okami HD! Gonna cross my fingers to get a release date, at least.
