May 2012 PSN Top Sellers: The Walking Dead Invades The Charts

PSN TOP SELLERS: DECEMBER 2011

The Walking Dead made a big impression on PSN players this month, with the first episode of Telltale Games’ episode zombie series claiming the top spot in May. You’ll also notice a great resurgence in the PixelJunk series, due likely in part to May’s deep-discount PixelJunk sale that saw many PixelJunk favorites sell for a just buck.

In PS Vita news, Escape Plan’s iron grip on the throne has finally been loosened — NetherRealm Studios’ bone-crunching fighter Mortal Kombat takes the top slot this month. In PS one Classics, Legend of Dragoon’s long-awaited release reshuffled the usual crowd of top performers. Starting this month, by community request, we’re also happy to integrate a new chart examining PS2 Classics performance! In May, Max Payne stole the show just in time for Max Payne 3’s arrival on Blu-ray Disc.

Get the download on all of May’s top sellers below. Did your favorite game make the grade? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

  • So, I’m curious, where’s our sale of vita titles? This is from the Euro Playstation Blog

Starting on June 13th until July 4th, we will run a sale for content compatible with PS Vita. Each week we will rotate the content, starting with digital only titles followed by adding in retail releases (that are also available through PS Store) and finally on the third week, retail and PSP/mini titles compatible with Vita.

How special, euro customers get deals, and we get … well, we get bupkis.

I’ve been on their forums, there is no release date for episode 2. They’ve also done some backtracking. On steam the titles are listed as releasing PERIODICALLY in 2012, not monthly. So, don’t be shocked if episode 2 doesn’t release this month.

  • thats like the only thing about this ive heard n a while. thanks for some kind of info massimodo….

On their forums they have a poll with people guessing when the release date will be. The current betting favorite is When hell freezes over. At E3, they claimed they were aiming for the end of june, but its not like the rep said it with any sense of conviction. So, who knows you might get lucky in two weeks.

  • Okay, why doesn’t the Vita have an “add to cart” option. I had to put $5 into my wallet twice to buy the Pinball Arcade and Escape plan DLC?

Seriously, how do you miss stuff like this.

  • how do i get my money back ?

  • It’s great to see Max Payne is #1 on ps2 classics in the wake of max payne 3 release, but what about max payne 2? I was a little surprised that it wasn’t released right before Max Payne 3 dropped and it still hasn’t, not even a mention. Is there any chance this will come soon to PSN? I ask because I played MP1 years ago and loved it but never played MP2. Can I please at least get a response? I’d rather get a reply saying theyre no plans rather than get no reply at all.

  • Waiting to buy Legend of Dragoon for when PS1 games work on Vita. For now I’m playing through the FF4 Complete Collection. I have a page on my Vita for Final Fantasy games. If FF3 makes it over from Japan, and Final Fantasy Anniversary Collection 1 & 2 make it to US PSN, I will have Final Fantasy 1-10 filling up a special Final Fantasy page on my Vita :) . Here is my list:

Final Fantasy 1 (Anniversary Edition released on PSN I hope!)
Final Fantasy 2 (Anniversary Edition again)
Final Fantasy 3 (The newly announced PSP version. Hoping it makes it to the US PSN)
    Final Fantasy 4 (Complete Collection)
    Final Fantasy 5 (PS1)
    Final Fantasy 6 (PS1)
    Final Fantasy 7 (PS1)
    Final Fantasy 8 (PS1)
    Final Fantasy 9 (PS1)
    Final Fantasy 10 (PSV)

Make my goal possible, US PSN team! I’m already using a Dissidia wallpaper and just waiting to fill the spots in!
