Paint Park, Treasure Park and Wake Up Club Coming to PS Vita for Free

During the launch of PS Vita we introduced you to Welcome Park, a PS Vita application that teaches you about the different controls that PS Vita has. We’re excited to announce the next set of PS Vita applications to join the “Park” series with the introduction of Paint Park, an exclusive app for PS Vita owners available for download starting today.

Paint Park turns PS Vita’s impressive 5”OLED touchscreen into a sketch pad where users can make and share drawings with friends. Players can doodle, sketch and scribble quickly and easily with the virtual markers and onscreen color palette. Using PS Vita’s front and rear cameras, you can incorporate photos of the world around you into your drawings. Players can compete with up to five friends in online multiplayer via Ad Hoc mode to see who has the skills to be the best artist.

Also coming soon to PS Vita are Treasure Park and Wake-Up Club. Treasure Park is a puzzle-based app that enables you to connect with friends and other PS Vita owners. Using the near application and 3G or Wi-Fi, you can create and find your own puzzles to play, as well as set bombs and traps for your friends to find or try to avoid. Wherever you are, you will have the ability to team up with friends to earn high scores.

Wake-Up Club expands on the PS Vita Alarm Clock by allowing you to sync up with other PS Vita owners who set their alarm for the same time. Wake-Up Club is a great way to make waking up in the morning more interactive with the PS Vita community.

Paint Park, Treasure Park and Wake-Up Club will be available as free downloads via PlayStation Store.

Stay tuned for more updates on the availability of Treasure Park and Wake-Up Club.

PlayStation Vita owners can look forward to a trio of free applications to help you make the most of the handheld console’s unique features, the first of which will be available to download this week, on April 18.

  • It,s probably some kind of dumb sells reason that is not working or for hacking reasons. But if it already did what the hackers wonted it to do they would not have a reason to hack it.Most of the hacking is people getting it to do what it is already is supposed to do.

  • a) Developers that make games aren’t going to usually be the same ones making applications like these.

    b) These things don’t interfere with the more important stuff. Sony is huge, they’re able to do more than one thing at a time.

    c) They’re free… if you don’t like them fine. To complain about something free is ridiculous however.

    d) If you’re going to complain, never buy anything at launch ever again. Do the world a favor.

    e) Just sell your Vita so that I, and others with actual common sense, can enjoy reading comments that aren’t full of entitled whining about issues that aren’t even issues.

    f) Remote Play works as it always has. No one promised that there would be universal Remote Play for everything on the PS3. Remote Play works for things that support Remote Play. Get over it.

  • Cool looking apps, Is there some reason why I can’t view VIDEOS???

  • @ 24 (Shy_Guy92) Thanks for the link! Lets see if they are true to their word.

  • Jamil,

Please rename Wake Up Club to Wake Up Park, or something else ending with the “Park” title. With Welcome Park and these other two, you could use the title as a series for a type of game/app separate from the Vita games, PSP games, and minis.

Also, it seems that with Paint Park, a chance for multiplayer could be done aside from Ad Hoc, where players use the messaging system. It would be whenever the other person responds to the message, so of course it wouldn’t be a quick game, but that itself would be a fun thing to notice when starting up your Vita.

  • The three apps looks great, still waiting for youtube support or at least HTML5 video.

I love my Vita much more everyday =D

  • #103 First I was not complaining I was stating facts.#2 I was talking about sony developers them self. You know, the ones who made the thing.#3 If you really used you own common sense to not hear complaining you would stay off this blog because common sense says with all the problems right now there is more of a chance it will snow in hades.

  • So as you said you self, you need to get over it.Enjoy life and except what you can not change.

  • Great, this is what we need, many free apps, but not just from sony but many publishers, we need YouTube and other stuff that’s been missing since launch (full PSP compatibility, trophies and online sync with PS3, PSOne Classics), also there should be an option to change profile on the fly, we only own 1 vita and don’t like my brother playing with my PSN ID

  • WOW, I’m so glad I invested $300.00 into a handheld *Gaming machine so that I can draw like a 5 year old using virtual crayons…! GET REAL OR GET OUT LOL

  • If you bought the vita,a game, and a memory card you paid more like 400 or more dollars. Now do you feel better.

  • Ever since they released these apps i have not been able to login in to Vita Store – anyone else having this issue?

  • I keep throwing my money at the screen, but no games are coming out!

  • I love Paint Park. Much more fun drawing on a bigger screen than on an Ipod Touch. Now.. just make a freaking app store with hundreds and thousands of apps on it.

  • So Mr.Miles im confused will this drawing feature be its own application, or part of the ”Welcome Park” Application?

  • @108: I wasn’t speaking directly to any one person. But congratulations on having an overinflated ego.

  • Be leave me, it.s not ego.I just wonted you to see what you sounded like. That,s why I wrote it that way.Where all trying to convey the same message just in different ways.(Sony please help all this stop)It would be nice to be talking about how great it is to be a sony gamer again.

  • When are we getting a writing and/or pdf app? I got the paint app, and will get the alarm clock app when it comes out. Really looking for a writing app.

  • EMAIL APP PLEASE !!!!

  • There will always be haters out there no matter what device it is..

Anyway I can’t understand why the mature games for Ps Vita and the Nintendo Kid like Apps?? Sure skype is a start, but that just it a start.. Why is Sony teasing us with a trickle of Apps from time to time? Does not make sense with the capabilities of the Ps Vita. There should be apps flowing out of Sony and from developers.. Some people would like it to be strictly a gaming device, truth is it is not. Apps are equally as important on the Ps Vita. Here are a couple important ones.

    1, SMS Texting App (unlimited)
2, ADOBE FLASH MUST HAVE Apps SONY.
3, MSN messenger, and from other messengers.

I hate to say this but it is true, Sony should take a que from Apple when it comes to Apps. After all people have come to expect quality apps and variety like the Apps you can find in an Apple product. Ps Vita could be so much more with Awesome games great capabilities and so on, Apps will be the factor here in determining if Ps Vita really can reach out to the masses. More versatility+variety equal more customers in my opinion.

  • thanks; cant beat free! i like the idea of the apps –will have to see how much use they get…. would really love to see an app for email, calendar and contacts. that would def help me in my decision to sign up for the data plan. && w next sf update –how about adding a zoom option for camera/video mode and screen rotation (would function great for browser experience) and reader app if one were to ever be released in the future??

    keep em comin!!
