PS Vita will begin making its way into gamers’ hands in just a few short days! Day one Vita owners will have many, many games to choose from, with 25 titles announced for launch on February 22nd. Actually, make that 26 — Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus is now a confirmed launch title as well.
If you’re being thorough, however, that number is off by a bit… like by 90%. Hundreds of classic PSP titles and minis will also be available to play on PS Vita on day one via the PlayStation Store. Even better, if you’ve already downloaded a compatible PSP title, you can download it directly onto your PS Vita at no extra cost (please note that some limitations do apply).
There are a couple of ways to get these PSP games onto your PS Vita:
- Purchase PSP games from PS Vita’s PlayStation Store and download via WiFi directly to your system. If you’ve already purchased a game via PSN from the list below, you can redownload it from the Download List.
- If you’ve already got one of these games sitting on your PS3 XMB (or have purchased from the PS3’s PlayStation Store), you can connect your PS Vita to the PS3 via the included USB cable, and transfer the game via PS Vita’s on-board Content Manager.
Here are the first 275 PSP titles ready to be downloaded onto PS Vita. Don’t worry if you don’t see your favorite title here now; more PSP titles will be made available for PS Vita play in the coming weeks. We’ll keep this list current and let you know when updates are made.

@marlyt
because i dont like using the four button for moving the camera on Peace Walker. having a second analog would the best for me. and yes it will support it. i know because someone from Japan posted a vid on youtube. but is ok i will be patient for Sony to release PW for the Vita
This is an awesome start-up list, and thanks to PS Plus, I’ve got more minis than I have time to count. Now lets work on the PS1 Classics, and PS2 games. I have high hopes for the Vita, and my investment looks very promising.
By the way, favorite PSP game, Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception, can we work that onto the PS Store PLEASE.
I can safely get rid of my PSP now know that DJ MAX Portable 3 is on that list!!!
Personal hit list…
Capcom Classics Collection Remixed
Capcom Puzzle World
Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars
Crimson Room Reverse
Tetris (PSP Mini)
… and even though neither has been downloadable to this point, please work to bring Pangya and Shadow of Destiny to PSN so I can get them onto my Vita. Would gladly pay for the both of them again. =D
theres a lot of overpriced psp games at the store…. i think some games should be lowered
all the games I have are not compatible (probably games that come out of vita) then I will not buy this console before these games am
google translate
Greetings Jeff,
Where can I suggest games?
I’ll start a thread in the community for now.
Thanks!
Im still getting the 32gb card but the vita needs to put up more psp games and psone games.
I noticed that Fate/Extra is on the list, but Fate/Unlimited Codes is not; is the latter an option to be added to the list in future? (Not least since, unlike F/E, F/UC is a PSN-only title in North America and Europe as it stands.)
If you guys that work at Sony read my msg just wondering if you nice chaps will be adding a 480P Vita mode to the PSP games? Maybe add is some 4XAA as well be fantastic if ya guys could. I read in OPM that it was 480×272 upscaled but plans to add a 480P Vita mode.
Last thing bring on the PS1 emulation long live VITA :)
I would like to know if either of the loco roco games will be available at the launch of ps vita
good thing they got the GOW ghost of sparta but i still need the DBZ tenkaichi tag team and Naruto UN impact
Can the balance of PSN cards from my PS3 be transferrable to PS vita device if I am logged both devices using my account? How can I check this in PS vita?
If all you’re gonna do is play PSP games, then why get a Vita?
What about save data? Can we transfer it via wireless (if the PSV even supports adhoc?) or plug both devices into the computer and just transfer the data?
Please get MYST in that list as soon as possible.
Please allow PSone classics to be ran on the PS Vita.
Please continue to blow me away with your Sony products.
no UMD passport sucks but the games i have kept i am fully willing to buy it again digitally to play it on a bigger, brighter, and overall better screen than the PSP. Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep FTW.
The Gradius Collection please :D
Will there ever be a MacOSX Content manager?
Wait, why buy the PS Vita, if your going to play PSP games….that makes no sense to me.
Despite my level of excitement for the release of this system, I must say I am most disappointed in the game lineup for launch. Dual joystick functionality was the selling point for me. But has it caught the attention of anyone that theres no supporting software in the online shooter genre for launch? When I saw that the vita launch titles I became worried with the direction these games were taking the multiplayer experience. Focusing on the 3g connectivity as the main source of gaming. i.e. mod nation and hot shots golf. I find live p2p social gaming to be a key attribute in the success of any system and I know there’s a promising and exciting line up for the vita. However, I AM NOT PLEASED WITH THE FACT THAT THERE’S NO ONLINE SHOOTER FOR LAUNCH.
I relied dearly on the PSP backwards compatible games to be my alternate source of aesthetic pleasure on 2/15. But even a finely polished PSP title that yearns for the promised dual stick support like resistance retribution or medal of honor heroes 2 is miraculously forgotten in launch and fails to be my saving grace. As I read the list of supporting PSP games for launch, I was let down once again. I’m sure it’s for a good marketing reason that online Shooter games for the vita are being held off. But a quasi vita title like Killzone 3 cannot be an acceptable substitute for my starved online shooter thumbs and trigger fingers. SO I ASK THIS QUESTION: IF I WANT TO PLAY AN ONLINE SHOOTER FOR THE VITA, MUST I OCCUPY MY PS3 AND MY PSV AT THE SAME TIME? IF SO, SHOULDN’T I JUST PLAY IT ON MY BEAUTIFUL Sony 24″ 240Hz 3D HDTV or could you, alternatively, provide we dedicated gamers with REAL GAMES, with REAL COMPETITIVE SOCIAL ATMOSPHERE?
With Love,

@ leithal7 It makes perfect sense for three reasons.
1. GRAPHICS SMOOTHING
2. CONSOLIDATING PORTABLE GAME LIBRARY
3. UPDATED CONTROL CONFIGURATIONS INCORPORATING THE DUAL JOYSTICK FEATURE.
Psp shooters are reborn on the PSV and enjoyed in the way that Gaming Gods intended.
Can i play PSP’s games likes “Monster Hunter freedom unite” online with a PSV?
AWESOME psp games like god of war on play station vita
Holding out hope for Work Time Fun!
a guy at gamestop has a japan vita and he has mgs peace walker on there
i only bought one psp game through psn….. sonic rivals 2 my fav psp game i hope it gets on there soon…… and angry birds…..
I hope Killzone: Liberation and Resistance: Retribution will make it to that list eventually.
If you transfer a psp downloaded game from your psp to your Vita (i.e re-download it on the Vita) is it still playable on the psp? Or do you need internet connection to play it on the Vita? (similar to xbox) Also, will all save files for compatible games be transferable to the Vita and playable?
Great to see the Persona games and Corspe Party up there. I really
hope that these games are on the way or someone is listening: Crisis Core, Resistance:Retribution, Gradius Collection, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, Prinny 1…I’m sure there’s more…
Jeanne D’Arc is my most wanted PSP game for the Vita. Please make it happen, Sony!
come on jeff! get King of Fighters Orochi Saga on that!
I get the feeling that people aren’t getting the fact that you can still get games downloaded onto your PS3 and get them that way.
Anyway, I’m waiting on PS1 games being compatible.
good enough
GTA Liberty City Stories
GTA Vice City Stores
Def Jam Fight For NY The Takeover
Please Sony, add these titles
I loved playing PSX games on my PSP. I would love to be able to continue that on the Vita. PS2 games aren’t that big of a deal to me, but I still enjoy all the classic FF’s , Odd World’s and other games.
Just an Idea Sony…whenever you get around to it.
Guys PEACE WALKER works on the ps vita you just got to download it onto your ps3 and then use the content manager to move it to your PS Vita. IGN has a video up briefly showing you how to do so if your not sure.
http://www.ign.com/wikis/ps-vita/PSP_Games_on_the_Vita
Other psp games might work have not tried it out yet. However PEACE WALKER is confirmed to work if you follow the method shown in the link above.
wow the silent hill games arent on there. out of all the downloaded games i have dissidia is the only one that works.
I know there are a lot of comments on when the psclassics will be available, do you have any info, or some type of “guesstimation” on when it will be, Jeff?
So there is no broadband where I live (nor for a two hour drive through the mountains)… and it seems like I can’t download my games with Content Manager onto my PC… how do I get my PSP games onto my Vita in that case?
I can’t wait until the 22nd.
Good Add on Ideas?
Twisted Metal Head on
Rock Band Unplugged
Mortal Kombat Deception: Unchained
Need for Speed Series
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
Army of Two: the 40th Day
The Sims 2
The Sims 2: Castaway
UFC Undisputed 2010
The Warriors
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
Silent Hill: Origins
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker
Man Hunt 2
Please add these games? i had bought them on UMD and no possible way to get most of them back except for Rock Band, and Twisted Metal, Please guys?
I purchased Little Big Planet, Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 1 & 2 digitally from the PSN store so that I would be able to play them on the NGP/Vita. I’ve invested a LOT of time in those games (creating stuff in Little Big Planet and unlocking items in Hot Shots Golf). Since I’ve pre-ordered a VIta I’d like to tell you that I’m extremely disappointed that these titles (all of which were PSP Best Sellers) weren’t included on your list. I keep hearing how advanced this system is but to be honest PSP (and PS One Classics) compatibility looks half-assed at best.
I’d really like to see Castlevania – The Dracula X Chronicles and Gran Turismo included. These were absolute jems on the PSP and their absence is mind boggling.
Gamers on this blog have been asking for Final Fantasy Crisis Core for ages now. I do really believe it’s time to address this. Is there a particular reason this game (along with the Anniversary Editions of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II) are being withheld from the US PSN store? The anniversary editions are available on both the European and Japanese stores – heck, I can even purchase Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition (originally a PSP developed game) on the iPod Touch/iPhone now – but I still can’t get it from the PSN store. Seems wrong.
Finally, a promo suggestion. Final Fantasy IV Collection retails for about $10 less then it’s current PSN counterpart. I suppose eventually the PSN price will be adjusted. Before that happens maybe you (or Square Enix) would consider bundling Final Fantasy IV Collection with one of the Anniversary Editions (or both). You could keep the price of the bundle at the current price of Final Fantasy IV Collection on the PSN store. This is a win-win situation. You and Square Enix sell the games for top dollar and the fans get the games they’ve been asking for. This is similar to the Metal Gear promo that you had for Peace Walker a while back.
None of my digital PSP games are listed: Little Big Planet, Locoroco Midnight Carnival, Pinball Heroes, Pursuit Force. Sort it please!
Excuse me, I have several UMD versions of these games, and really can’t afford to buy them over again. I was wondering if we are really not receiving the service that Japan has received, and if not, then why? I found out about that service from another website, here’s the quote:
“As reported by Kotaku, the UMD Passport programme that lets Japanese Vita owners register UMDs on their PSN accounts and then pay a small fee to re-download them on a Vita won’t be available in the US.”
If it is true, then why won’t we be receiving it? I find that if you did give this service, you would be making much more money, since there are many people like me who have UMDs that do not want to re-buy them. I would much rather pay a small fee to redownload them, since I have already purchased them from Sony and feel it’s almost a rip-off to have to buy them over again, just because I didn’t buy the digital copy. Also, not all of these titles were available in a digital format until recently.
Please respond, I’m sure I’m not the only one who is curious about this.
I got my PS Vita this morning. It’s awesome! The AR games are not in the store though. My favorite games (which I have that are digital) from the PSP are not on that list.
I can confirm though that using Content Manager to connect to the PS3, any install bubble of some games are copy-able to the PS Vita:
I found 2 of my PSP games that would copy and do work on the PS Vita.
1. Savage Moon: The Hera Campaign, it’s brighter and clean, looks good, worth playing again (gave up on it on the PSP as it was too dark for my tastes, now it’s playable!)
2. Bejeweled 2 (I hated the button scheme way of playing it on the PSP) Re-mapping is awesome! I can move with D-pad or left stick, and I can swap with the Right Stick! So awesome! It’s what I’ve been dreaming of forever! I hated that PSP way of playing it so much I hardly did, it hurt my head to try to adapt to it, now it’s a dream.
(To remap, just hold press on the screen in a PSP game and a semi-translucent window pops up, with options right there, just touch the Right Stick line to get the options for it. Touch the option you want remapped to the Right Stick, — nothing; d-pad; or triangle, box, circle and cross.)
I really was hoping Pixel Junk Monsters Deluxe would copy over via Content Manager, but it doesn’t, neither does Fieldrunners. :(
PJMD has PSP –> PS Vita symbol on Q-games webpage for the game. What’s the news on that? I Tweeted Subatomic about Fieldrunners last week, they answered about the Android version questions I asked them, but ignored my PSP to PS Vita version questions I asked. Please give us some info!
just for the record there are other games that work that arent on that list. ppl have been posting it in other forums websites. http://www.gamespot.com/playstation-vita/forum/correction-all-psp-games-work-with-vita-61920180/
