PlayStation Store Update

Hey everyone,
It’s the final week of celebrating Only On PSN with the release of 2 exclusive PSN titles: inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood and PixelJunk SideScroller! Don’t forget that this is also the last week that you can purchase these, or any other content from the Store to go towards the $60 threshold to receive $10 back in November.

inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood delivers a darker adventure for Cole; complete with new powers, (did we mention he flies?) a new look for the city of New Marais, and access to the complete suite of User Generated Content tools. This downloadable inFAMOUS adventure is standalone and doesn’t require you to have previous inFAMOUS titles to play it.

Click here to check out the entire Only On PSN lineup.

For classic shmup action with a twist, you’ll want to get your hands on PixelJunk SideScroller. Q Games puts the PixelJunk twist on the genre with luminescent visuals, incredible bosses, and unforgettable powerups and weaponry to take on the masses.

Other PSN Games arriving this week include the now HD arcade classic Daytona USA, the hilarious puzzle action of Worms Crazy Golf, and just in time for Halloween: Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone.

Also new to PlayStation Network this week is CinemaNow, an all new video service that further expands your video watching options on your PlayStation 3. CinemaNow gives you access to new releases movies and brings you TV episodes, many the day after they air. With over 15,000 movies and TV shows to choose from, you can rent movies in stunning HD complete with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound; no subscription required! Grab it from the Store or in the My Channels section under the TV/Video Services XMB column.

PlayStation Plus subscribers; hope you’ve enjoyed October’s free content and discounts! We draw this month to a close by kicking off new discounts on a ton of new releases including 20% off inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood, Pixeljunk Sidescroller, and Worms Crazy Golf; 30% off new release Daytona USA, and 50% discounts on Mercury Hg, and 4 Elements. And that’s on top of new Full Game Trials, free themes, and free avatars!

Don’t forget to check out new demos like Sonic Generations, new full PS3 titles hitting the Store such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, and new add-ons for favorites like Gran Turismo 5 and Ace Combat Assault Horizon. • When I said ‘Shut up and take my money’, I was expecting DLC in return!

  • I just want what I paid for…..

  • sony once again adds another media service that isn’t available in canada, what’s up with that sony? you have ps3 owners here too you know!!!!

  • Confirming GT5 DLC glitched… full price, even though I’m Plus. Only got a car and a theme. Under Account management, it shows up under transactions, but not under the downloads. I’d really expect this to work after it was already delayed (sigh).

  • I’ve bought the Gran Turismo 5 DLC complete pack – TWICE ON THE SAME ACCOUNT.
    And I’ve checked up everything:
    My side
The disc ID is BCUS-98114? Checked
I’m buying on the same account that I log on the game? Checked
Was the DLC really bought? Failed to see that yes, it was charged once, so I’ve bought again. (But still, the PSN locks the buy button when you buy individual packages or when you buy them all and only the bundle appears, didn’t happen with GT5).

    SONY+PD side:
Downloadable files? Bonus car and theme only
Downloadable content button at game? Nothing.

Really, this was the only time that SONY dissapointed me, and it was a big failure, and involving real life money.

  • Where is my GT5 dlc that I just purchased? FIX THIS!

  • @51 Did they give more details? If not, that’s normal. That means your not getting it yet.; business as usual. When you see it appear that’s when you know you can get it, if it’s not broken.

  • How about adding a Pandora app to the music section of the xmb…..I get tired (lazy) going through the PS3 browser..

  • 50 for Call of Duty Black Ops…. Really???

Why is DIGITAL COPY of a year old (nearly) 50usd? Any gamer can go to Amazon, BestBuy and even GameStop and get a disc copy of the game at 35usd (34.99). So why is a DIGITAL COPY running a Gamer nearly 30% more the a Disc copy of the very same game. Whats even worse is a gamer can order it with next day shipping and still pay 5usd less. It really make me sad to know, that somewhere out there that someone is going to pay it, I just happy it will not be me.

Infamous 2: Festival of Blood is the only thing I really want this week… But i may just have to get Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone since i loved the other one

  • I’m also having problems with the GT5 Complete Pack DLC.
All I got in the download list from the store was the Honda NSX GT500 Stealth Model and the GT Academy Theme.
Also, in the store from the New Releases -> Add-Ons -> Gran Turismo 5 page it only shows the course pack as purchased (with the red icon) whereas the rest are the blue icons (as in, added to cart).
Then when I load up GT5 and go to Downloadable Content (y’know, like the FAQ said) it says “No purchased content found.”

This is what we get for purchasing DLC on day 1?

  • I’m a plus member and didn’t get the promised discount for purchasing early.

  • Don’t expect anyone here to tell us anything, it’s like talking to the wall. If you call customer service that’s no good either, it goes in one ear and out the other with those people.

  • infamous

  • What the heck, I just paid 12 bucks for GT5 content and I got NOTHING!!!!!!!! >_<

  • Good week for some DL games. But one question? GT5 DLC bundle was supposed to have a PS+ discount?

“While you can buy individual DLC packs, you can also buy it all at once as a bundle for just $11.99. PlayStation Plus subscribers will also get a nice discount on the bundle for the first month of release – more details on that soon.”

Guess I might as well wait on that DLC since it doesnt seem to be working right now anyway. May just use my $10 credit for it once its fixed and has the Plus discount. Otherwise, it’s InFamous: FOB, Worms Crazy Golf, and Pixeljunk Sidescroller for me. Don’t know where I’m going to find the time to play it all though, with BF3 out now.

  • Sony why don’t you reply with the solution for the GT5 DLC problem?

  • Can you guarantee we’ll receive a family upgrade for the DLC from Gran Turismo 5 like Kazunori Yamauchi stated? That’s what’s holding me from buying the dlc. I’m not going to pay $30 so the whole family can enjoy the new DLC on different accounts, when I should really only have to pay 11.99 once.

  • DO NOT BUY THE COMPLETE GT5 DLC PACK!! It’s bugged, they’ll take your 12 bucks and you get a car.. no track, no paints.. nothing. Unreal..

  • Guys, about GT5 DLC, if tit’s the same thing than in Europe:

Once you bought the DLC, you have to start the game, in the main menu, a new section will appear at the far-right, allowinf to download everything.

  • Can there please be a update about DC Universe Online? And finally the Sonic Gen demo is up.

  • $ony = incompetent monkeys.

I paid 12 bucks for the GT5 DLC pack, load up the game and it’s nowhere to be found. Great job, morons.

  • *it’s *allowing you

    sorry for the typos

  • Ok so you guys need to go look how it worked for the EU release… once you bought the DLC you have to boot GT5 and there’s a new button to download the extra stuff, right at the right end of the screen, in the menu where you choose your career or arcade mode etc…

PS : where is the PS+ discount??? lagging behind like it did for the EU release im guessing? :(

  • I would like to see some Rocketbirds avatars soon! inFAMOUS Festival of Blood OWNED!

  • Rooooooooooolllllllllinnnnggggggg start!

  • We know how the DLC works. It’s not there when you push the button in game.

  • @FDC1 – You do that here and it says “No purchased content found”. Whoever it is at the Store that didn’t put it up last week with rest-of-world and then screwed it up again this week sure isn’t helping Sony credibility much.

  • I booted my game and you go to that DLC button and it says “no purchased content found” what a rip off.

  • To the people who think we don’t know: It’s not showing in the game’s dlc icon… we tried. It says no content purchased.

  • @stefer09 and @FDC1 : No it won’t appear at the GT5 Downloadable Content menu.
It’s really bugged, both at store and in game.

  • When they will sell Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on PSN? IMHO HD Remastered Series must be a PSN content by default.

  • To everyone downloading the DLC for Gran Turismo 5, please see the redemption instructions on this page to add it to your user GT5 user account. This needs to be done from within the game, it is not a downloadable package file. I apologize for the confusion.

  • @Forgetful : oh sorry… didnt buy it yet so i figured… im waiting for the PS+ price :(

  • Please answer if could. All I want to know if you will release another PS2 classic next week?

  • I thought the GT5 DLCs were supposed to be FREE… :'(

  • PS3 Legacy: 3
    PS2 Legacy: 0
    PS1 Legacy: 1
    PSP Legacy: 0
    PCE Legacy: 0

That’s above average, though still not good. If it were 4 games spread across the 5 platforms it would look nicer. The pricing is also pretty bad. Trying to sell a year old, soon to be obsolete game for $50? hahahaha. And why is the Homefront game+dlc bundle priced lower than the game alone? I feel sad for the 2 people who bought the game alone, they probably realized their mistake and thats why its rating is currently three stars lol.

Adding 5 new PSN games is pretty darn good. Its also nice to see them all priced at $10. Seeing yet another XS PS1 classic is um, bad. No love lost for not having any new Minis but I’m sure some people care about them so its lame not to see even a single new one for the week. 5 demos is a nice deal. Special offers aren’t to great and fewer in number than before. Really wish they would expand the Segac sale. The continued flood of videos and dlc round out the week nicely.

Overall this feels like 3 out of 5 star kind of week.

  • OT: But whats with the Catwoman bundle? The game came out last week! I guess 1,000+ people are to stupid to look inside their game boxes because there’s no way even half of those are from used buyers. D:

  • We’re not in the mood Megamixer we have bigger issues today like brokenGT5 DLC!!

  • That awkward moment when i pay $11.99 for the Gran Turismo 5 DLC, and then it doesn’t work……………….

  • Brian, for GT5 full pack, there are no “bubbles” to install after purchase and download. In GT5, under the “Downloadable Content”, as per the link you sent… “No content found”. This is not a case of goofy instructions. The content is not available, other than the one stealth car and the theme.

  • Bought the Gran Turismo 5 Complete Pack, checked the DLC section in-game and nothing. Everyone seems to be having problems with the DLC. I’ve done everything on the website yet there’s still no content. Any idea when this will be fixed?

  • Everybody, buy Daytona USA. It’s the standard by which arcade racers are judged, and it’s finally better-than-arcade-perfect.

  • @Brian

We know how it works. The problem is that it isnt.

  • Please super nice playstation people, Add WWE ’12 to the demos list. It comes out in november, and wwe games said they would come out with a demo. So please hear me out

  • Went into the game, no DLC, even checked that spot. Greatness.

  • @82
Agreed, I’ve done this process for the past half hour.
It doesn’t appear in the DLC Section on GT5.

Agreed again, there were no bubbles to install what-so-ever.

  • @Brian Dunn: Please, read again the comments, the people already know how it was supposed to work. The point is that the DLC is failing on SONY+PD side, not ours.

Please enter your date of birth.
