Introducing ‘Only On PSN’ For New Exclusive Games Throughout October

We’re excited to announce a new program called “Only On PSN,” which features brand new games that are exclusively available on PlayStation Network throughout October. Every week starting tomorrow, October 4, you will find new titles, unique to PSN that are part of this program – games that you’ve likely read about here on the PlayStation Blog, or seen during our showing at E3 2011. You may recall our announcement a few months ago about our Pub Fund – a $20 million investment in exclusive PSN titles, and the Only On PlayStation Network program showcases two titles spawning from this investment: Eufloria and Okabu.

We can’t wait for you to get your hands on the Only On PSN games yourselves, so we’re giving you a few special offers throughout the course of the program. First, to sweeten the deal, we’ll be offering PlayStation Plus subscribers a 20% discount on each game during the first week of its availability.

Additionally, users who spend $60 or more out of their PlayStation Network/Sony Entertainment Network wallet through the month of October will get $10 back in November. This includes any of the Only On PSN games, purchases of games, add-ons, movies and TV shows in both the game and video sections of the PlayStation Store, your paid subscriptions for PlayStation Plus or Music Unlimited, movie rentals or purchases through Video Unlimited and any games or virtual items you buy in PlayStation Home.

Be sure to keep an eye on the PlayStation Twitter feed, as we’ll be giving away download codes for each game in the line-up every week. Don’t miss your chance to get this week’s Only On PSN games for free!

  • Eufloria is available on PC. Saying it is Only on PSN is a bit disingenuous.

This program is apparently only a US thing. Is it not possible for all SCE divisions to work together and co-ordinate these programs across all regions? You see, there’s this thing called the Internet, which allows people to know what is happening all over the world and it means PSN users are always aware of what they are missing out on compared to other regions. It is the reason most PSN users have multiple accounts.

I would have thought SCEA, SCEE and SCEJ would have better co-ordination so late into this generation.

    • This version of Eufloria will have a number of features and content that differentiate it from the PC version quite substantially.

  • Is this offer for Canada as well?

  • Rochard is fantastic. You guys should have advertised it better.

  • Only one PS2 game (besides the great ICO & SOTC), and I’ll be happy: OKAMI.

  • were is fw 4.0

  • Is the “spend $60 in Oct., get $10 in Nov. credit” good in Canada too?

  • You guys could have moved the logo PS from the bottom of the video so we can read the titles easily.

    Good initiative though..

  • Are only the games from the first week for free or will the others be for free as well?

  • Does my purchase of Rochard, last week, count towards this promotion? If not, I will gladly forfeit my plans of buying well over $60 of titles this month. That is simply unfair to early adopters like me, especially with only a week’s notice. I would certainly have waited a week for Rochard. I realize I may sound like a whiny child, but I simply can’t understand why they would include a game released last month as part of this month’s promotion. It’s BS, simply put.

    • I understand where you’re coming from, but yes, the promotion is only for purchases made this month. I hope you’ll find some other good content throughout the month, but I respect your decision. Feel free to PM me on the PlayStation.com forums should you wish to discuss it further (user ID: mochuuu)

  • I love this. this is how you expand the brand. I think this would be good for every psn network. That sony has .. it would be a great start up builder..

  • is inFamous FOB stand alone? or will you need Infamous 2 to play it?

  • God Hand is awesome! But is it in HD with trophies and 16:9 or not?

  • @57 Rockefellow

I doubt it. A couple years ago when Ragdoll Kungfu was out. I bought it on a wednesday, the very next day on thursday it went totally FREE to everyone. I called Sony and told them and they refused to issue a refund.

    i dont think they care.

  • Wow. Quick question, will the Sodium stuff remain for Home Only?
I purchased the Sodium Shooter game aloooooooooooonnnnnnnnggggg time ago, and it would be radical if you could finally play it without connecting to home.

    • Sodium remains a PS Home only playable. Jump in Home when it releases, you might like some of the changes you’ll see if it’s been a while since you’ve been in Home

  • @61 ChaseHammerJ

I remember that! Absolutely ridiculous, no matter what way you look at it.

  • was hoping you’d include a change your psn id feature, but i guess that’s an xbox live exclusive huh?

  • Is something going on with Payday?

  • I wouldn’t call those games “rare classics”, more like “rare failures”. Wake me up when epic PS2 games come to the PlayStation Store.

  • too bad i have no money from all the physical games coming out…

  • well I couldent care less of the others but ODIN SPHERE im sure the others will be cool too def. will check em out

  • Finally, PS2 Classics. Yes! Any news on pricing?

  • Fatal Frame 1 2 and 3 should be in! right? :D

  • Is Payday: The Heist coming tomorrow or not?!?! It.’s not mentioned at all here or on the drop either! Will you at least tell us if it isn’t coming?

  • So does this mean you’ll release an update that will allow us to play PS2 disc games?

  • @72. No it means they will sell is the PS2 library one game at a time. Haha.

  • Wow…. seriously Sony… too many games.

I don’t understand how this business model can be profitable for these devs. I am interested in the majority of these games, but will probably only buy 1 or 2 due to this more precious resource called…. time!

It’s great that there are a lot of options out there, but sometimes too much choice is just as bad as no choice.

  • October is looking like a great month right about now..and not only because of the exclusives or the NBA JAM On Fire ..but because my birthday is coming up and that means im not paying for any game this month..thanks to all the birthday doe i will be getting..lol so..rocketbirds,infamous,sodium collection and the pixel junk sidescroller and nba jam will be on my PSN HDD this month..so in the words of the Cool Aid man – OH YEAH

  • LOL so now PS2 games work? I still own God Hand, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere and Ring of Red. If these are not enchanced in HD with trophies then I pass. Sony why not just make a emulator on PS3 for people who own this already, this is bull.

  • Whoa! PS2 Classics?!? O_O

God Hand, Maximo, Odin Sphere and Grim Grimoire are all must buys. And I already own all of them on PS2.

    I don’t suppose there’s trophy support for these. :p

  • Maximo and Odin Sphere sound good to me!

  • @ChaseHammerJ: It’s stand-alone. You don’t need inFamous 2 in order to play it.

  • This is really cool. I want a lot of these games!

Question: Do these PS2 releases have any sort of upgrades such as trophies or HD? It’s not like I need any more reasons to download Odin’s Sphere, but I’d like to know.

  • why worry about ps2 game for outdate get ps3 update

  • I just hope that they will put Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 on the PSN store

  • After getting a 100% completion on inFamous 2, I think festival of blood ain’t going to be enough for me :(.
Why sucker punch, why!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I needz morez inFamous!!!!!!! Can you at least tell us what new IP sucker punch will be working on?

  • great SONY!!!!!

  • I own Odin Sphere on my PS2, but I’d love to have it on my HDD. I was actually about to buy Grim Grimoire on Amazon, but this is so much better.

More please! Can you guys pull some strings and see about getting Mark of Kri/Rise of the Kasai, Dark Cloud 1 and 2, and Rogue Galaxy up at some point in the future?

I still have a backwards compatible PS3, but if those five titles get released on the PSN, I won’t have to worry so much about it dying on me (My first 2 BC PS3’s died; I’m on my 3rd now, and have a Slim for PS3 games; I only use my BC PS3 for downloadable titles and PS2 games now).

  • is there a place where we can suggest PS2 classics?

id love to see games like Skygunner make it onto PSN

  • I would buy everyone of those PS2 games day one if they had trophy support.
I already own a few of them, so unfortunately I won’t be buying them again unless they are remastered later.

I’m really happy they are available again, but also sad that they were not fixed up in anyway.

  • Oh, and please, please don’t do any of square’s games this way! I am wanting remasters of their stuff and the Dark Cloud games.

  • Do the purchase of PS2 games count towards this $60 promotion?

  • I look forward to news on the state of Odin Sphere’s framerate.

  • I preordered Payday the Heist last week. Since the game comes out this month, does that count towards the $60 since I don’t get the game until October, or not?

  • Does this mean that you have an PS2 emulator now?? if so then why aren’t you making a bigger deal out of this get allot of games to launch at the same time, have a dedicated ps meeting or a blog Post

  • Are the PS2 Classics going to run on Vita as well?

  • Awesome!! Its great to see you guys adding some PS2 classics. :D I’d love to purchase some of my favorites if they come on here. I’ll definitely be picking up Okabu!! It looks like so much fun!

  • Sounds like a good deal to me! I swear I spend over $60 bucks a week some weeks!

PS: Morgan – are you able to tell us whatever happened to the pictures we submitted for the “A Few Good Gamers” post from Sept.? Did I miss something?

  • Ummmmmm…..Trophies for the PS2 games at all?

  • @ Rockefellow, the promotion of 10 dlls back has no relation with Rochard, if you bought the game on September why should you be included in the promotion? if they did this then they should count every purchase that was made in September for all of the user base..

The cash back is for anything you buy, not only those games..

“Additionally, users who spend $60 or more out of their PlayStation Network/Sony Entertainment Network wallet through the month of October will get $10 back in November”

  • OMG! I can’t believe PS2 titles are coming out on PSN, and with an EXCELLENT first batch of games. I’ll have to buy Odin Sphere and Ring of Red as soon as my payday comes. Thanks!
