With a special July 4th edition of The Drop comes a patriotic salute to what is surely one of the year’s most anticipated betas. Soon enough, everyone will be able to join in on the UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception Multiplayer Beta, as it opens on Tuesday to all PSN users. PlayStation Plus members have been enjoying early access to the beta all week, but its time we open things up!
Also, this week — the Earth needs some defending! Sunshine, barbecue and fireworks will come in between you and the apocalyptic arthropod uprising in Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon.

Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon — Insect Armageddon continues to follow the rich history of casual fun and addictive gameplay that made the franchise a cult classic. I would go with what I said, about checking the ESRB. If you have any interest in what is comming out down the line and want to find out before hand then check their site. The imports have not been covered by the ERSB but so far it seems that every PSone re-release has been rechecked out by the ESRB and since Sony does not have a comming soon section this at least lets you check.

Why even bother wasting bandwidth on an update that is virtually empty? I know you’re trying to screw people with the free PS+, but FFS you can do a better update of premium stuff at the very least. I have a $20 card waiting to buy something (I don’t use credit with Sony anymore, thank you hackers) and it is still idle due to there being nothing!
Why did a few complain about classics? Are they too dumb to realize that the imports are classics? Either that or they want something english. Not sure which I guess it depends on the person.

Worst drop ever!! Hope to see some good sales to make up for it. I’d like to see hard corps uprising 50% off, since I heard it is on xbla. That would make up for it a little at least. I really don’t know why ff5 and 6 and chrono trigger aren’t on store yet. It seems like the perfect time to put them up, since the 3rd party publishers seem to have abandoned psn. That’s an easy $30 from me and i”m sure thousands of other people.

@canada I think the DLC also drops on tues. At least the new Killzone 3 maps dropped on a tues so I’m basing it off that. I could be wrong though.

please tell me the ps4 rumors are false kotaku and ign both posted that a manufacturer that made the ps3 will be starting production on the ps4 this year for release next year and that it will include a kenect like camera this isnt true is it or is this an updated camera for the move

My bad guys. The reason that things have been slower than you would like the last few weeks is that my PS3 got the YLOD for the second time. I’ll get a new slim in a week or so, and then Sony will have better updates. However, I would like to thank Sony for having lesser updates while I am out of the game. I appreciate it.

First off, thanks for the drop! I used to impatiently fire up the store every couple of hours instead, checking for any new releases.
That being said, WHAT THE ****?
I was expecting a decent amount of content after the PSN came back up, but it seems like everything got dumped in the first update, because since then it’s been nothing but table scraps.
I really wish I had stuck to my Xbox 360, instead of switching to PS3 when it red ringed…. I’ve been burned badly by both companies now, and it’s really making me wonder why I even give them my money anymore

First off, thanks for taking the time to update these here Drops. Us gamers with itchy fingers and (apparently) too much money appreciate not having to check the store every couple hours for some new eesh. I’m not really sure what goes into porting a game onto PSN from older consoles and whatnot, but IMHO instead of ignoring feedback and complaints from actual PS3 and PSN proprietors, a little education could be brought so whiners would look like morons instead of successfully raising the ire of others. For example, maybe a general FAQ about why delays are sometimes necessary or the process of porting games, such as ESRB re-ratings, HD remastery, etc..
Also, I know a lot of older games that people clamor for might never make it onto NA’s PSN (FFV & VI??) but I’m not the only one who’ll ask, “Why in the _ not?!” I’m no marketing exec but if the people want something, they’ll pay for it. After all, cash rules everything and all that, no? If not for the profit, then for the everlasting loyalty and appreciation of your hardcore gamer fans? Pretty please? Thanks again! Daggerdale baby!
