We are working hard here at Insomniac HQ, putting the finishing touches on Resistance 3 in time for our September 6th release date. We were happy with all of our fantastic comments on the first video in our Dev Diary series in co-operation with the PlayStation Blog, which focused on environments and storyline. Many of you immediately asked “when is the next one coming?” I’m happy to answer that the latest video is now available! It focuses on Resistance 3’s vicious new Chimeran enemies and the significant artificial intelligence improvements we’re making, including enhanced group tactics.
We hope to continue to bring these to you every couple of weeks as we head up to Resistance 3’s September 6th launch. Never played resistance, i was tempted a few times but i was holding off for the dual pack but i wanted a trophy patch for 1 i know i sound weird by saying this but i feel uncomfortable when there are no trophies, is that odd, and why aren’t you guys doing a trophy patch is it really that hard i would name the trophy’s for you! Still buying the dual pack and R3 though since R3 releases 4 days after my birthday! (and when school starts).

an issue i wanted to discuss is the qriocity music unlimited service.why is canada the only country that doesnt get it?i checked on my psp and there wasnt a canada flag in the options.now i find this very sad.there are A LOT of ps3 users in canada,i can guarantee you that sony.so please fix this issue,i was even considering paying for the service.

I have to say – This is REALLY looking like the shooter to beat this year. I can’t wait to get my little chimera hands… er I mean, my hands on it as soon as possible!
Really wish I could get that 24″ sony 3D TV that’s coming out with this, but I already own a larger HD tv anyway. I’ll just wait ’til 3D TV’s of a good size are a little cheaper. Hopefully sony jumps on that trend too. Good times.. good times.

Listen. I will only say this once SCEA: Understand that America is your largest market. Understand that another “Australian” or European Exclusive Collector’s Edition for a core PS3 Title is not only unprofitable, but also unfair. I realize that the different divisions of your company create and approve …different editions for each region, however, North American fans do not deserve the cold shoulder (yet again). We want a “Survival” Edition here in North America. We deserve one. As a fan myself, I am constantly being shunned by developers and publishers I love and I am really getting sick of it. If you only realized as a company how damaging it is to alienate a particular market in your worldwide fanbase you would think twice about allowing a particular, smaller division (Australian, European) from announcing any kind of exclusive.
So, with all that off my chest, I plead with you (I BEG you) as a fan, as a loyal customer, even as a friend! to please reconsider your position on offering a Collectible edition of R3 here in North America. I guarantee you will NOT regret it when you find they are all sold out (unlike an “Australian” exclusive which often times has a plethora of stock left after launch).
I also understand that the ultimate decision is up to each Region, SCEA or SCEE. You need to reconsider your position for the SCEA Region. Don’t alienate your fans Sony. We will fight back. I am the RESISTANCE. We are the RESISTANCE. As fans we should RESIST.

And just for clarification: The Doomsday Edition DOES NOT COUNT as a Collector’s Edition. It is a sad attempt to sell a product (Playstation Move bundle) that has not done well on it’s own. STOP bundling the move items with games here in North America. We are sick of it. It is a slap in the face as a fan.

Well up until yesterday I had this game preordered.. I couldn’t wait for the game it looked so amazing…
UNTIL I found out you guys decided to go with online passes and follow EA in their greedy ways. Well congratulations I hope you make lots of money off of used game sales because you just lost $60 here.
Until you come up with a way to make sales off used games without completely destroying the split-screen aspect of your game I will show no interest.
90% of the reason I buy a game is for its split-screen capabilities. Thanks to PSN being free me and my girlfriend both have accounts on my ps3 and play split-screen co-op whenever it is available. That is why I loved the second resistance and that is why i was so excited about the third. But do you honestly expect me to pay an additional $10-20 just so my girlfriends account can play online aswell? After shelling out $60 from the start? You have got to be mad.

Wow, another online pass game. You just lost my $60. Dead Space 2 was my first and last online pass game purchase mistake.

The game will be coming with an “online pass” similar to EA’s genius idea to tell its customers that it doesn’t care about them.
With this online pass you will be able to access online content i.e. play online multiplayer and the likes. Without it your stuck to single player gaming. You can buy a new pass from the developers, could be anywhere from $10-20.
So basically that means that you can only play this game with ONE of your psn accounts. If you had any hopes of using multiple accounts for split-screen gameplay they just threw those right out the window.
Here’s a thought. How about we make codes so the online features are then allowed to our entire system, not just our account…. Oh.. i don’t know.. Like the xboxlive marketplace? (maybe psn store never bought anything from there).
Then maybe you won’t put another nail in split-screens coffin.

As long as it’s the same PS3, you can use any number of accounts with the online portion of the game. And I’m assuming it has split screen, if not, then why are you complaining?
You do know the pass works with multiple accounts, same as with the online pass for EA. Right?

Thank you for clarifying that i did NOT realize it worked with more than one account if on the same ps3. From all the reports I had read they simply stated “account specific” pass to enable online content.
While I still disagree completely with the concept of “online passes” as I feel game companies are just strong arming their customers into making more money… It does not affect me in the slightest if it allows me to use every account on my console. I hardly ever buy used games and the ones i do buy are usually solo campaign games that have little replay value.
Guess i’ll have to put aside my morals and purchase this game…
I am looking forward to the conclusion of Resistance. This storyline has had me from the get go and the guys at Insomniac have put their all into it and it shows. I plan on pre-ordering the CE over the weekend. I can’t wait to get through storymode and then play with my friends online. Looking forward to it.
