The quiet days of summer are usually a great time to catch up on games, so I’ve doing my part by shredding through Shadows of the Damned (a great ride, particularly if you liked Resident Evil 4’s shooting mechanics) and Outland. Next up: inFAMOUS 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum (my secret shame), and Assassin’s Creed II (my other secret shame).

inFAMOUS 2 Now Available on PSN as Full Game Download — A shocking (sorry) turn of events! Cole’s epic struggle against anti-mutant vigilantes is now available as a full game download from PSN. If you’ve got PlayStation Plus, you can play 60 minutes of the game for free.
Hitman: Absolution Developer Interview — Much like the new Tomb Raider, Hitman: Absolution is going to great lengths to expand its core premise in new and intriguing ways. One example is the introduction of social stealth, which sees Agent 47 bluffing and role-playing his way through nerve-wracking close encounters.
Introducing Dyad for PSN — I had the pleasure of meeting creator Shawn McGrath at this year’s PAX East. At that time, Shawn had rigged Dyad to a motorized platform chair that tilted and rocked as the player soared through the game’s swirling vortex of sights and sounds. Shadows of the Damned: A New Vision of Hell Hits PS3 Today — Full disclosure: I’ve been playing Shadows of the Damned all week long and it’s a breath of fresh air. The survival-horror combat is similar to Resident Evil 4, though Garcia is much faster and nimbler than Leon Kennedy. I also adore the chilling soundscape produced by Akira Yamaoka (LINK: https://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/06/24/shadows-of-the-damned-sound-director-akira-yamaoka-talks-audio-influences/), whose audio work you remember from the Silent Hill games. Have you played it?

an issue i wanted to discuss is the qriocity music unlimited service.why is canada the only country that doesnt get it?i checked on my psp and there wasnt a canada flag in the options.now i find this very sad.there are A LOT of ps3 users in canada,i can guarantee you that sony.so please fix this issue,i was even considering paying for the service.

Don’t know if you will ever see this but if you get trophies on the 1 hour trial for a game then buy the disk at retail the trophies will indeed be unlocked when you load the game. I did that with Red Faction Guerrilla.
I wish the trophies weren’t added to your list on the trials though, it’s the reason I don’t play many of the trials. I don’t want my trophy list clogged up with games I’ll probably never play.

Speaking of ModNation Racers though… is there any word on what kind of cross-play we’ll be getting with PS3?
They’ve already said that every PS3 track will play on Vita, but will Vita tracks play on PS3? Also, will PS3 be able to play multiplayer with Vita, or have access to the new weapons? Any chance of that “draw mode” on Vita being included on PS3 using PS Move?
Or is all of that waiting to be included in ModNation 2… nudge nudge wink wink
And, from what I heard about Iron Man 2, not one of Scarlett Johansson’s best performances, either.
Is it just me, or am I the only one that has noticed that ScarJo’s best performances come when her character’s smoke cigarettes (Lost In Translation, The Black Dahlia, and a few other movies that I can’t think of at the moment). Is that supposed to be a coincidence?
…luckily she’s Scarlett Johansson, so it kinda makes up for it :)
It wasn’t a bad film… but it’s the kind of film where you shouldn’t watch the trailer because it shows pretty much all the best scenes and surprises, and then when you actually watch the movie, the only parts that you haven’t already seen are the dialogue.
Anyway… going slightly off topic here, so… yay for PlayStation

Congrats on this 4000 post, but more than that you guys have worked your butts off to make this blog the PS love affair it is. Im loving it, check it many times per day and it does not dissapoint.
I’ve been wanting to ask this for a while but why is the blog post about what 3d games and movies that are out always showing up on the main psblog page but is never updated? I would like to know what I can look forward to instead of things that have been out for a few months already. I would also like to see if the rumors of God of War 3 receiving a 3d patch are true.
Alas, I never got to play Battlefield 2142. It came out right when my last gaming PC went out of date, and I’ve been reluctant to build another one (my apartment is too small to even set it up permanently.) I personally don’t want it to be too futuristic, just modern but against an unknown foe.
