@462, that wont happen on slim models, they lack a hardware chip, without it PS2 games wont happen.. I had a fatty ps3, but it over heated from folding @home…
but i have noticed that the PS2 Software program is still in the store, so perhaps they are and have been considering it?

I had to trade in my PS2 games because my 40 gig ps3 wouldn’t play them.
I think that Sony is trying to get PS2 games on the PS3 by remaking them hence, Sly Collection and the Ico/Shadow of the Collousus Bundle as well as the original Spinter Cell trilogy [even though it’s not being made by Sony, just PS3 exclusive :)]. There are a couple more PS2 games either already been remastered or they are remaking them as we type.

It has to be rewrote individually to match ps3 code and processer/gfx card, It does not have the “Emotion Engine” chip from the PS2 or GFX chip that the fat model had

It’s time for a new XBL. Microsoft has changed the design of its console three or four times, we haven’t seen a change since… the release of the PSX (not to be confused with the PS1. Google it and you’ll understand). Also, X-Game Chat anyone? :D

Why would they put PS2 games on the store when only a few models can play them. The PS2 games are likely a large size 3+GB so it would take a while to download on PSN. I don’t see a very large market for them when most games are <$10 used and they would have to price them at $9.99 and I don't seea massive profit on them.
Sony has said at many press conferences that they are going to remake PS2 classics for the PS3 that is their plans on PS2 games. When nothing they have can play the games it's not a great idea. If the Vita and PS3 could play them it is a fine idea. The market place for them is super low and the costs would exceed the income.
Enough with the cross game voice chat! It isn’t happening! If you want it, wait and buy the Playstation Vita, it’ll have it.
Everyone, they most likely do the things your saying such as; cross-game party chat, new dashboard design, more features; because they probably are waiting for the PS4 to release this stuff, if they do. Now I never said they wont put them in the PS3, but i’m positive that they aren’t. Would be nice, though :D

Sony always says that playing online would be better with these updates but you know what, i’ve updated my ps3 with that latest 3.66 firmware but still i always experiencing time outs when playing mw2 or any other online games. that really sucks, isn’t it?

think of why the ps3 downloads games and dlc while I play some games and pauses the download when I play other games.
now come up with a reason why the ps3 doesn’t have XGC.

and also A limited connection in Download/upload especially upload because they dont want you too run a server without paying for it
it registers as 3.65 on my ps3 system and i installed it with usb flash drive correctly

if they could improve on something i would like to play music i have saved on my XMB while im playing games. some of the games i have dont need lots of volume (risk, magic, tv game show, family fued, tanks, monkey island, god of war, etc) so some of my favorite music would be nice to listen to. other games like call of duty or 2k11 are alot more enjoyable if you got some music to hype you up. does xbox have the rights to that technology too cause i dont see why Sony hasnt hooked this feature up yet since xbox has had it for years.
