Earlier tonight we released an optional system software update (v3.65) for PlayStation 3. This new firmware improves the operating stability of some PS3 format software, and changes the XMB item SaveData Utility (minis) to [SaveData Utility(minis/PSP)].
Again, this update is optional, and can be downloaded by selecting System Update from the Setting column of the XMB.
Why didnt it let me sign in…. i didnt want to update it but i had to…. oh well

1st congrats on a great E3.. VITA is gorgeous, as are some of the games, BUT, there was a lot that was NOT covered or mentioned. And 1 MAJOR PROBLEM.
1ST. No HOME Updates? I along with many thought you would announce “something”, but really ODD, NOT hearing the word, “ROCKSTAR” anywhere.
The UBER MAJOR PROBLEM. You know we all have been asking for CROSS GAME CHAT. Every single day for the past 5 years. E3’s come n go & nothing. No annnouncement about it, but then, you introduce the “VITA”
What does the “Vita” have? CROSS GAME CHAT!
So, your “Vita” gets cross game chat, and for the PS3, we once again, get SLAPPED in the face
HOW CAN VITA HAVE IT, AND THE PS3 NOT? COME ON……..

sony might sell more consoles with cross game chat, ive had 3 friends so far quit psn for live just because of that feature. you dont know the future.

@DIGGY305, i’m having the same issue, home techs either have to update home or just fix the freeze without an update, either way it’s been there fault not fixing it since the psn server went back up last month!

I sure HOPE that this new Patch fixes Tiger Woods PGA 12…damn thing keeps locking up. Even without touching the controller, as the animations are going, whammo.. frozen… i sent emails into you, and to EA about this and explained the problems i wa having. The potential damage that the freezing can do if you have to reset your PS3, BAD NEWS! SO I HOPE THIS FIXES IT!

XxIsTrYkDeAtHxX anyone who sells/buys a console over something like cross gaming chat will switch consoles for dumb reasons, there’s no avoiding that. Next week they’ll get rid of their Xbox 360 because they just realized they didn’t like the shape of it.

Cross game chat would be an amazing feature, the have said they are working on it and are trying to get through the loophole (microsoft bought the license for it). Some people are saying that it would ruin online games… simple fix! do what modern warfare 2 did, make it so that in team-oriented modes it wouldnt allow you in. Even if games didnt have that feature how many people actually get into a game and talk to try and do the game. Some do but iv maybe gotten into 40 matches that actually used teamwork in my 2 years of gaming on ps3. The bottom line is that cross game chat would be an excellent feature, it would make games more fun because we wouldnt get bored as easy or anything like that. Now, with that said, it doesn’t mean we should bash sony and DEMAND it. It isn;t that important. I have both an xbox and a ps3, i have to admit 100% that xbox live is set-up better, but only mainly because of cross-game chat. even with that I haven’t played my xbox ever since i got my ps3, its just too damn good. PS3 is better, but it would completely win the race with cross-game chat. now everyone else, stop complaining about it, people have different opinions and if you dont like cross game chat then dont use it. its that simple.
@ Death8u4u I would rater have Cross game Voice Chat in stead of Cross Game Text Chat which we already have.

Reckless, text chat is simply text chat. The probability of you getting caught up in a conversation through that versus while talking to them over the microphone is next to zero.

The one thing I was hoping for was cross game chat. Text chat is all right and everything, but if your in the middle of a game you not going to be stopping to send messages.. But other than that the conference was pretty cool. Can’t was to get the PS Vita

What should i do! It wont let me sign in is i dont have the update and since theres an error i cant get online
as a long long time SONY supporter im gettin pretty fed up. so we need another update because, AGAIN you got hacked by lulz. my brand new ps3 (8month old) is crappin out already, looks like its xbox time.

Everyone having issues with the download, try shutting off your PS3 for a bit. Give it like a half hour and then come back and try installing the update again.

will this fix the issues i’m having where my minis saves from my ps3 and psp are not showing in the folder but say they are there when i try to copy data with the same name into it? i can’t move any of them back to my psp right now so i haven’t been playing my minis right now. i really enjoyed your e3 press conference by the way. way to go guys. great show.
That’s actually one of the points I try to get across octus. The PS3 voice options in-game are already pretty horrid. Sustaining a connection across games (even during loading periods and such) would just cause massive lag for the users using it and make it sound horrible to no end.
Sony would have to upgrade the chat system before they could effectively introduce cross game chat.
