Now that PlayStation Network is once again operational, a great many of you are once again enjoying playing games online. Of course, that’s only part of the Network’s offerings – and you’ve got some questions about how the downtime affected planned releases and online events. Here are answers to some of the more pressing queries:
Q: So what exactly is working right now?
A: Sign-in for PlayStation Network and Qriocity (including the resetting of passwords), online gameplay for PS3 and PSP, playback of rental video content on PS3 (if within rental period), Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity on PS3 (for current subscribers), access to services such as Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, and MLB.tv, “Friends” category on PS3 (including Friends List, Chat Functionality, Trophy Comparison, etc), in-game leaderboards, and PlayStation Home.Q: I’m having trouble changing my password/I forgot which email I used on my account/I used a fake email to set up my account.
A: Click here for a set of tips on resetting your password. If you’ve gone through the process and are waiting for an email from us, please note that the very large number of requests has caused certain ISPs to slow the rate at which recipients get emails from us. Please be patient as the systems work through the backlog.Q: The PlayStation Store hasn’t updated since April 19th. When can I download digital games that were planned to be released since then?
A: To date, three Tuesday publishes were missed, which included items like Under Siege and the MotorStorm Apocalypse demo. Rest assured that you won’t miss any of this great content. To catch up on the large amount of material, we’ll be publishing to the PlayStation Store multiple times per week once commerce functionality is restored. We will update the PlayStation.Blog with information on timing of the Store restoration, as well as the full list of new content as each publish occurs.Q: How will PlayStation Plus members be affected by the PSN downtime? A number of games/items were slated to go live or come down on April 26th.

Ok guys i know playstation store is down but can you guys tell me why when i put my card for my psn card code number in it says “PlayStation®Network Card without exceeding the maximum wallet funding limit”. Tell me how to fix Please or i just baught a 20$ card for nothing :(
I feel bad for alot of the people working for Sony and PlayStation that have to deal with all this trouble and alot of the people who were just plain rude about the outage.

Cant say i ain;t dissapointed with the choices, fair enough they are a bargain for free but could we not have a choice of a game which is multiplayer and somewhat recent? Wipeout im sure had a couple of players… 2 years ago…
I would have even happy with Blur but that was a flop also.
I personally woulda hoped to get a single download worth about £25 on the current market.

This is really starting to tick me off. 50+ hours and still waiting on that stupid email. I just bought this dang ps3 a month and a half ago. I am starting to get sick of playstation bs already. Is it just those with hotmail account that are not getting this email? And dont try sending customer service and email. all you get back is the auto reply repeated 6 times.

Well for every one that switched to x-tard(x-box) when this happens to them they wont take as long to get games back on, but it will continue to happen because unlike playstation they will rush not realy fix the complete, problem.
But i will say this x-box does have more zombie games, racing games, ect, but of course PSN will alawys be supreme ruler of GAMES!!!!!!!!

i have a question. with the downtime of the psn has playstation had any thought into giving us a damn ps2 emulator already ( for new ps3 models) it was talked about b4 when move was being talked about but then no news i wouldn’t even mind if i had to pay the price of a ps2 ($80 where i live) i just want the convienence of being able to play all my playstation media on 1 system that was the brilliance with sony there old models do it why was it taken out? and why is there no updates or anything at all. so my question is mainly is there ever even going to be a ps2 emu or some sort of way for new model ps3 owners to play there ps2 game? or are we seriously going to have to re-buy a ps2 or an old ps3 just to play something u already had in your previous model system? it’d just be nice to play PS1,Ps2,Ps3 game all without having to plug in new systems or swap etc 1 unit should be able to play everything thats why u guys destroy xbox but the new models are hurting thats all i’m saying(not badly either just it is a shame that u can play ps1 games on them but not ps2)
If you read the user agreement it states no modifing the system and other key points..actually read that and it mentions what is new in the update and what noti wish i was logged in when this happened half of you are little kids and dont understand the extent of what happened. 99.9% of you wouldnt be anle to fix the prob as quick as they did. It is sophisticated software/hardware that was intruded it aint like a house where you take finger prints. And everyone who wanted more free crap..wtf if they did give you more they wouldnt be in buissness…77 million people getting 2 free games worth atleast 5 bucks each…do the math. Does the new update delete your system data because my friend did this and everything Gone. All trophies, map packs, friends gone =/. I don’t even have a Ps3 yet, so I wouldn’t know DX. Can’t wait for a ps3 though :D

@ batistarulz I care. That’s why I asked. Personally I’m happy psn is back up. And really there are online ps2 games in which I wish to play but can’t as I have the fat model of the ps2. So that’s a reason as to why I’m asking.

Qriocity is not working for me at all. First it said I had to set my clock up to sync with the internet, which I swore I’ve done before, but I just did it again, but now Music Unlimited says “A connection to the server could not be established. Press the PS button to close this software.” It says in the FAQ that Qriocity was restored… Is it fully??
