Now that some PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been restored and you’re once again enjoying online gaming and entertainment, we’re happy to provide details about the “Welcome Back” appreciation program for customers in North America. We developed the program as an expression of our gratitude for your patience, support and continued loyalty during the service outage. From all of us at PlayStation, thank you and welcome back!
This package will be made available to all existing registered PlayStation Network and Qriocity users in North America (US and Canada), and will be made available shortly after we have fully restored the service. More specific details about these offers and eligibility requirements will be posted as the services go live.
All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

- LittleBigPlanet
- Super Stardust HD
- Wipeout HD + Fury
For PSP owners, you will be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.
- LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
- ModNation Racers
- Pursuit Force
- Killzone Liberation
- A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.
- 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.
- Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.
- Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.
- Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.
- To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.

Suggestion: An ‘OPT OUT’ program where you forgo both the 2 free PS3 and PSP games for an alternate selection where you get 1 Choice from an alternate, more obscure games list.

Good lookin’ out, SONY! Most of us had faith in ya. Even though I have to admit, my faith was wore thin more than once. If something ever happens like this again, if you don’t know when PSN will be back up, tell us, “Hey, we don’t know.” It’s better than us getting our hopes up just to have you tell us, “It’ll be a few more days.”

The complaints about not being able to access certain PSN features due to region I understand, that’s a bummer. However, people complaining that they already own the games being offered is laughable. You do realize you are asking for a customized welcome back package when there are 77 million individual users? PSN is back and the store will be shortly. Some people just can’t be happy with what they have…sheesh. We were all affected somehow by this outage, those who were smart went and cancelled their credit cards and changed their passwords. So in theory, all that was really lost is the subscription to SOE games (which compensation is being offered to) and the PSN Plus service (which is also giving compensation to subscribers). So please, all that was lost is time if you bothered to care about your own account and were vigilant about it. This is a nice welcome back package…especially considering the fact that Sony could have offered nothing. Thanks much Sony, this is awesome!

Since everyone are saying that they have those games already. Why don’t sony do a vote. List all the games that are downloadable and let the fans/gamers vote. And the 5 games that reciever the most votes should be the games that are free to download.

Actually Sony failed because they hadn’t updated their software in years, leaving holes for hackers to exploit. I hope in the future we have laws against this kind of negligence, companies caring more about profits than security, and that people go to jail, and not just some Network Admin, but CEO’s.. then and only then will corporations start taking safety seriously.

Wow I have all the games that Sony is offering, and psn plus has only one good thing and that is cloud game saving which will expire when subscription expire. I also dont have Qriocity subscription. This just suks, we missed 3.2 weeks of psn also our personal information got hacked and the welcome back program has nothing that like or want which makes it worst. What i want is Sony to give something special like extra features ex. Cross game chat. Almost every entertainment system in my house is from Sony: just to show you guys that how much i love sony (2 ps1’s, 2 ps2’s, fat ps3, slim ps3, sony bravia led lcd 3d tv, home theater, sony laptop, 2 psp 3000, psp slim, xperia play, and sony lcd tv). after getting all these products i found out that sony doesn’t really care about their customers.
Any sony person can you please reply to my message if you really care about your customers and answer this question- what will you guys do to those people who already have all the games that you are offering for welcome back program and who dont like psn plus or who already have it?

Great games, but most like myself already own them all. They are all older classics so of course many of the Sony faithful have purchased and loved them. How bout rather than punish loyal fans we all get store credit if our accounts already own them all???
Sony freeloaders are getting the benefits from this while the people who actually spent money when these games were released are getting shafted. At least put something NEW on the list. Not something old from years ago. Still disappointed with the fact Sony is just tossing us old recycled classics from years ago as a care package. They could at least give us PSN store credit to the value of those games for us to buy what we wished. Then a 30day trial of Plus of just a slap in the face. Tease you then take it away. You security flaws risk all its users and this is all we get? A trial and a few old PS3 great hits that should already be owned?

Thank you Sony! Now that’s what I call loyalty to your customers. I really hate that you guys have to do this. Because I know its gonna hurt the bottom dollar that much more. Its sad that some hacker does this crap and it ends up costing Sony a reportedly nearly $1billion. I don’t know its gonna cost that much but it’ll probably be close. In the end it will affect us consumers. Because we all know Sony will have to raise prices somewhere to cover all this loss. But thank you Sony for the rewards program. Keep on keeping on Sony.

What if the email for my sub account is still saying that it is timed out when i try to renew my password. It says the link is only available for 24 hours? is this true? and what if it still says timed out after those 24 hours?
