Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!
I still get an error when trying to log in….sometimes its a DNS error, and sometimes it says “A has occurred you have been signed out of playstation network.” Is it back up for all of the US or still just some?

I have a question! I bought the new “Mortal Kombat” for the ps3, since the (NET WORK) has been down I haven’t been able to redeem some of the downloadable content. Like the classic look for SCORPION, which you could only receive when u pre-order the game from “GAME-STOP”!!! Which runs out in a few days. I contacted game-stop to see what they were going to do about this and they said that it was up to (SONY). I really do not want to lose this offer. I tried calling but the phones were down as well, due to some high volume frequency! Im just a customer wanting to know about the product that he bought.. i did have an xbox but when i realize that i had to pay to play online with my friends, i didnt renew my gold membershiip with xbox. so when my 360 died, i switched to the Playstation 3 because i get to play online for free. PS3 is so much better then the Xbox 360. im glad i switched.

Why are we thanking SONY for doing their jobs? It’s not like they’re doing us a favor or something. This should never have happened, and everybody’s privacy and security have been compromised by what was apparently an inadequate system that could be hacked so thoroughly. So thanks for getting things back to where they should have been in the first place, I guess.
You know HawnKeez, TEUFEL_937 is right. Its not that big of a deal. Like what they say, “Don’t cry over spilled milk.” The “spilled milk” in this case is the “you’re not a loyal customer” message. So just take it easy man. No need for all dis commotion. =) …. -_-

Alright, it will be very nice when the PlayStation Store comes back online. My Mortal Kombat free trial has ended and I can’t redeem my Kombat Pass. I really got hooked in those two days I was able to play online.

Wow 4 day old thread still alive….I’ve had 0 issues since PSN came back up….never had issues with netfilx just had to sign in-fail-sign in-fail-sign in-fail-Netflix finished loading watched battlestar galactica(the 2004 version…i think thats when it started airing or was it 2005….*shrugs*) when I wasn’t playing Disgaea 1 or 2 on psp or 3 on ps3….also a lot of dragon age origins/awakening/DLC/2 ….Why am I rambling?(asking myself)…*shrugs* I know I posted somewhere in the 4000+ comments “woot! PSN is up” or something to that nature and complained about trolls/cry babies bashing Sony and the rampant stupidity in general…*Starts looking for a game to play*
they should give ps3 a double xp weekend cos we were offline when everyone on stupid pay to play xbox 360 had it on call of duty black ops (the best) :)
