Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!
ok, it was up and my state *(texas) was a very forest green color, now it’s down now my state it’s like a pale lime green color and there is an island where mexico was, WTF, what happened to PSN, what happened to mexico,
how is that island there and how does it have psn before I do? What is going on!!!
Is anyone elses alt accounts working?
To anyone here who wasn’t logged yesterday, it’s not about shades of green. The map was all white and Sony colored the map during the night cause they were getting the service back online in bunch of states. Now it’s all green and the shades means nothing. Oh and I haven’t been disconnected the whole day in Canada. :P Sony, could you make some pressions on EA SPORTS to get the ultimate team mode in NHL work again? It would be so easy to make only the packs with ea pucks available and the one with real money locked. Please do something about it. It’s almost the end of the hockey series and people really want to play in Canada and USA. :)
Is anyone still waiting on an email to change password after 24 hours?
Thank you Sony! It feels good to be back online after many days of playing offline! I would like to know when are we gonna kno what are going to be the free premium games we will be able to download like you guys said as part of the “welcome back program”?

Supposedly Florida is up and people in my area have it but when i try to sign in all i get is the error message with a code its been doing this to me for hours anyone else experiencing these issues?

When will other Asian countries be up? i have an Asian account that’s still under going maintenance.
(This is not the account i want to fix this one i made because this is the only way i can play): i cant figure out how to change my account password if it wont allow me to loggin on the PS3 or on the website…. i heard that they are supposed to send you a message that you must change your password but i dont know where the heck your are supposed to read that at…. i keep trying to loggin with that account on this website but it wont let me, i dont think i am putting the information in wrong, but it still will not work. Please i tried looking up how to change your password on the internet but their is hardly any information on the web except that you will recieve a message that “that you must change your account password ” …… on the ps3 it says that the account that you have typed in was incorrect …… :( so very confused can someone help i dont want to keep this account forever!

ChickenOut, did you get an error while trying to change your password? if so, try logging in with your NEW password.
it seemed like my password wasn’t going to change because i kept getting the error, but at some point it did.

Hey so I am trying to sign in and it says there’s supposed to be a system update and I go to try to update it but it says that the latest version has already been installed. I can’t sign into the psn either. Anyone know what’s up? My friend here that lives like 5 minutes away is able to get on.

just wanted to say Thank You Sony and that you guys still rock in my opioion. Also to all the sad puppies that went and got rid of there PS3 for a xbox or wii I dont feel sadness or pitty for you because if you were a true sony consumer a little outage would not influence your decision to get rid of a great gaming console. But yes congrats Sony yall did a wonderful job and we appreciate all that your doing to help and support us gamers who use your network for online competetive and fun gaming.
