Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!

I’ve been a loyal PlayStation gamer since the very first PlayStation, to the PS2, to now PS3 and will never turn my back on you guys just like you didn’t turn your backs on us. i cant even change my password for my main account! i changed it for ths account but my other account when i go to the link i go to i put in the letters n numbers for the security thing but thn after i press continue it says to reclick on the link or copy and paste n ive done BOTH!

Ok so i’ve been reading on this blog off and on all day long and the main thing that sticks out besides that hawnkeez jerk is it seems some of you are missing things…..Sony doesn’t really owe anybody anything it’s not there fault they were attacked…..they were trying to make things better by going after people that hacked or tried to hack into the system and they ended up getting thrawled for trying to keep us safe….Now as for compensation? I agree to a certain extent i think if you have playstation plus, Qriocity, or DCUO yes i think you are waranted a compensation

but Sony doesn’t have to just give people things just because the service was down the people on here really dissapoint me by saying and i quote “when are you sony going to give us our compensation and make it right?” this is really bothering what and when does it matter when we get a compesation be thankful there even wanting to hand out such a thing…..and be thankful that PSN is back up and stronger and more secure than ever…….seriously some people need to watch what they say because i will guarantee you that Microsoft CrapBox will not offer you anything that Sony ever will…………Sony Rock on yall have done an amazing job and will always be at the top of the food chain.

Bout time this has been too long its has been long and hard (wipe tears). Im am not going to be one of those players who gone say “good job” or stuff like that. This is because you at Sony were doing your job fixing something that really should of never happen. Something that I believe that could of been prevented. No don’t get me wrong I been with Sony since PS1 and imma stay loyal but this can’t happen again especially with the run around updates I was really disappointed. But ay we back online..
