Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!
Dawmed…I did a backup on my ps3 and then I lost all my things…I must restart at the beginning for my games….im crying…. ;(
Glad to be back on PSN, and to all those who got mad at sony for this, you obviously don’t understand the complexity of the system, with over 75 million users on millions of consoles, this isnt just one room full of servers.
And if you are so upset over this outage that you’re going to go buy a XBOX 360 and pay $50 a year plus the cost to replace games you already own, go ahead we won’t miss you.
Anywho, I think Sony did a great job of handling this situation and the welcome back package is WAY more than deserved.

Guys i cant log in in my ps3. i updated everything and changed my password
my trophies are all there but not my loading all desapear and my buying to ps store too

I did the update 3.61 and restarted the system, changed my password through email conformation and I am still unable to connect to the psn. I have a working internet connection on my ps3 and I am able to login to the psn on my pc but my ps3 keeps timing out. Any suggestions?

Lol.. I bought Need for Speed: Shift 2 during the outtage. No big deal just waiting for it to come back up so I can race online. Wrong I guess since I cant redeem the code for the EA online pass they seem to like to do with their games now.
Oh well couple more weeks of waiting.
Oh and those that thing the store will be back up by tuesday? ROFLMAO! It took a month just to get online back. The store is the least of their worries as they are probably going to dedicate a few days to watchdog the server now that it is up to see how it holds up.
And I did not go out and buy an xbox.. I already owned one. Well before I owned a PS3 I might add. The two systems are pretty much Identical with the exception of blu ray and 3d.. however since I am not privialaged enough to own a 3dtv and I own stand alone blu ray players as well as one in my PC it doesnt matter.
Yeah I know I know it costs money to play online on xbox wah wah wah. Its 60 bucks a year.. a YEAR. I spend more than that every 2 weeks on gas for my car. I’m not going to get into a which console is better fight with anyone. I own both, I enjoy both.
When will the Playstation Store be back up? I wanted 2 see if the Black Ops map pack is available now for Playstation.

Try restarting all your PS3 internet connections. Refresh your whole PS3 I did that and it worked.
