Pata Pata Pata Pon ! Pon Pon Pata Pon ! Chaka Chaka Pata Pon ! (Translation) Aid Hatapon in his quest to free the Patapon tribe from their stone prisons and rescue them from the seven evil spirits in Patapon 3, one of the PSP’s most anticipated and unique games of the year.

The rest of the line-up for The Drop this week, has you moon-walking, bird flinging and templar assassinating on the PS Move, PS3 and PSN.

PlayStation Portable

Patapon 3 (Also on PSN) — The brave Patapon tribe cross the recently constructed bridge at the end of Patapon 2. A mysterious box lies in their path and they combine their efforts to break it open. They successfully break open the box to release… the seven evil spirits! All the Patapons are turned to stone except for Hatapon. He has escaped the tragedy and finds a silver Hoshipon at the bottom of the box which gives him a new power to defeat the evil spirits: Superhero Patapon.

Patapon 3 introduces this new Superhero Patapon, which players can use to head into musical battle, devastating opponents with deadly, rhythmic attacks. Players will go on multiplayer Quest with friends or go head-to-head on an epic four-against-four battle against other Patapon clans with network play (up to eight players). Patapon is a fully customizable experience, with different weapons and abilities that combine music and dance to create the only multiplayer portable adventure full of rhythm and war.

  • @ Rey

for your reply to the 3rd comment unless its listed under a different name Lego Star Wars 3 isnt on the Psn at least from what i am seeing. all other Lego games like Batman, Harry Potter, and Indiana Jones are there, but not Star Wars.

  • Can we please get Trophies for Assassin’s Creed. PLEASE!

  • what’s the price of Dungeon Hunter: Alliance?

  • Why can’t you just come right out and tell us…

I have never in my life seen a company just flat out ignore it’s fan base like Sony does.. (except for Square-Enix).

Why can’t anybody just answer simple questions.

  • you know i agree with Knightedrik!

The people on this blog never response to people who actually ask questions. we get little to know details about if/when games get released, and i doubt they are even talking to developers about games getting released (whether new or old), or people in their own company about feature still not out yet, but were promised years ago!

Seriously its starting to get ridiculous. i have been asking about any word about Crisis Core (and some other old psp games) since obtaining a Psp Go at launch and nothing from this blog. i have even e-mailed Square Enix, and they basically told me to contact Sony because they (square) haven’t heard anything from Sony. Not even any of the people in the blog say anything like “oh we’ll look into it”, or “I’ll pass that on”. anything will do, but it seems like they don’t care.

I like Sony, overall their games/system are wonderful and i would like to support you guys but its difficult when you guys couldn’t care less about us. the people who made you what you are today.

  • @ CaptainDarin79 Re: PS1 whiners

I think part of the problem is that we sorta know what’s available on PSN to other regions of the world. For instance, I have a Jp PSN account so I know what Classics they have in their store. It can be frustrating to not understand why SCEA alone is dragging their heels in having enough PSN content. Personally speaking, I am disappointed in SCEA, and that’s because I know what the other Sony branches are doing that they’re not.

That being said, you’re dead-on about the spoiled arrogance and brattiness that pervades the comment sections in The Drop and Grace’s weekly updates. It’s disgusting and I frankly think that most of them should be banned. I’m all for freedom of speech. But the ad hominem attacks and sarcasm directed towards the blog posters are completely uncalled for.

  • so very little on the psp front. future releases are down to, like 4 games. Are you gonna let the PSP just die, Sony?

  • Where are the PS+ updates?

  • please make the assasin’s creed exisiting game disc patched for trophy support id rather not download a game i already own thank you

  • i have the greatest hits assasins creed with the original spiderman font instead of pointless 1.02- and 1.01 or any of those pointless update make an actual useful update dont make players download they own already or atleast release a download of the first game but make an actual game changing update comon sony bring it home guys

  • Anything in the works by chance for a paid PSN name change?? Or any news on if Power Stone will ever make it to PSN?

  • Megaman Legends 1 & 2 ???
How about even Brave Fencer Musashi at least…
    or maybe even Tomba!

  • Three weeks without a PSone classic… that is truly pathetic guys… *sigh*
Wing Commander 3, Tenchu 1 & 2, the PS1 Spider-Man games The first Twisted Metal… so many great games that have yet to find their way on there and yet we’re getting nothing whatsoever.

  • Is Assassin’s Creed going to get a Trophy Patch for the PlayStation 3 system? :)?

  • didnt AC already come out a few months ago on the psn?

  • Does this mean AC1 will get a trophy patch?

  • Lego Star Wars may have been in last week’s Drop, but it was absent for the official store update:

  • There are a few people asking about Parasite Eve 2 in the comments. I have bad news to share.

Guys: PE2 is probably not going to be released for a while on the NA PSN storefront. Parasite Eve 2 hasn’t been re-rated by the ESRB yet, and since it is a PSOne classic that would be playable on the PS3, it would need a new rating to include the PS3.

If the game was rated tomorrow, it probably would be weeks before it showed up in the storefront since there was a several month delay between when Parasite Eve 1 was re-rated by the ESRB and when it was released on the NA PSN storefront.

I say bug Square, and keep bugging Square so they know there is a demand for it. And hey, while you’re at it, can you bug them about there being no Software Manual in the PSN version of 3rd Birthday? Thanks. :)

  • Why was lego star wars 3 the clone wars removed for? Was it not ready or because of the but head hackers?

  • Yay Dungeon Hunters. I must get Gameloft’s multiplayer Torchlight!!! After Modern Combat: Domination, I’m expecting surprises from Gameloft.

As for Parasite Eve 2, guys, RELAX! Square did 3 AMAZING games one shot: Parasite EVE, Xenogears and Vagrant Story. After almost a year hiatus I can let it slide that they don’t release PE2 within a month of PE1 :P

  • Patapon 3!! As soon as it goes up on the Store, I’m downloading. Awesome!
If Assassin’s Creed has Trophy Support I’ll definitely buy it again, I’ve got a real affection for the first game. 2 and Brotherhood are awesome, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the first one.

  • Still no PSOne classics? Bummer…

  • No psone classics? =/

  • Hey Rey,

Have you heard anything about Dissidia 012 DLC? I know they added some new costumes and music in Japan about a week ago, with more announced for the coming weeks. Any idea when they’ll be released in NA and EU?

  • yay another week of nothing an HOME europe 6month old content recycle :(

  • wow, rare is it that a high-profile PSP game leads The Drop. It’s really too bad that the PSP has always been seen as an underdog, it’s great to see it in the spotlight.

  • $19.99 is kind of steep for Assassin’s Creed, since it can often be found for $10.00 or under brand new in stores. This kind of static pricing is one of the reasons the PSP Go was a bomb compared to the more flexible PSP 1/2/3000 (which does great deals on physical media and can also access the same downloadable content the Go can use). Heck, even Assassin’s Creed II is everywhere for $19.99.

They should really have to patch trophies onto it if it’s going to be a fresh release on PSN.

Pretty pumped Clash of Heroes is finally coming out, though! I’ve been waiting patiently for the upgraded version of that game since it was originally released.

  • Hi Rey, can you provide any info regarding Breath of fire III and IV as PSOne classics, or whether we could see a FFXII remake with trophies.

    Thanks anyway for your time.

  • Any word on Price for Patapon 3? I want to pick up enough PSN Cards on my way home to be ready for when it drops tomorrow.

  • Dungeon Hunter! sweet

  • Hey! Any news on the price for Dungeon Hunter Alliance? I play the other Dungeon Hunters on my iPhone. Great games!
