Players must use strategy and pinpoint timing to derail opponents, tactically alter the track or create entirely new routes.

Chime Super Deluxe: Chime mixes up the addictive action of puzzle games like Tetris with elements of music synthesizing. You arrange note blocks on a grid which form patterns of sound, then secure them by surrounding them with other blocks, intensifying the audio and creating new melodies as you play. As you build larger block segments (quads) and cover the grid, the combo meter starts and the underlying song develops in full. But take care – if you build yourself into a corner, the blocks shatter and the music dies. Read PlayStation.Blog Coverage

  • Split/Second is really good. The Ai racers do suffer from rubberbanding which may or may not be a problem for some. The multi-player is a blast with friends.

Free Realms should be a real winner although the card game was not included in the port from what I have gather which is a major letdown considering the potential in the console space.

It all looks like a good drop over all.

  • Just do it !!!

  • Any say on the price of Moon Diver?

  • Thank you PSP for making Jury Duty a bit more bearable this week.

  • @Rey
…… Ok Maybe I’ve missed it, but isn’t Mass Effect 2 The Arrival DLC supposed to be releasing this week? Why isn’t that on the Drop?

    • I tend not to mention DLC and/or bundles on The Drop. This is primarily for full titles or demos on PSN or Blu-Ray.

  • Do you know the estimated file size for The 3rd Birthday?

  • @56 it’ll be within the usual 1GB – 1.5GB ballpark i expect

  • @ #55 KazeEternal:

The DLC always appears in the Tuesday PS Store Update. I Thought you knew that by now.

  • Glad that 3rd Birthday is going to be on PSN as well for us Go owners! Keep it up, no more stupid UMD exclusives! I want to play all my PSP games on my NGP too!

  • any down fall to me buying another year +3 months of PS Plus? I know i set up a renewl for it but i wont get the extra 3 months when its time. i bought it in october with the bonus 3 months in effect, if that helps.

  • the 29th is the last day for that bonus 3 month by the way!

  • Rey since you don’t Mention Bundles is it possible that Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection might be announced?

  • MAG demo is comming for everyone? just like the PS Plus demo??

  • Where did you get that write up for Trails in the Sky? You seem to have gotten several of the names wrong. It’s apparently Estelle, not Estel; Joshua, not Yoshua; Bracer, not Blazer; Rolent, not Rolento.

If you translated it from the Japanese version, that’s impressive, but wouldn’t it be best to go from how the US release will be? From the press release I’ve seen, it says:

“In the peaceful town of Rolent of the Liberl Kingdom, a young girl named Estelle and her friend Joshua, who had been taken in by her family years earlier, prepare to take their first steps to join the legendary guild of the Bracers. Bracers are considered the peacekeepers and protectors of order that owe allegiance to no country or government. In Liberl their guild has flourished since a brief war some 10 years prior after an invasion from the Erebonian Empire to the north, and their efforts”

Considering how well that Xseed has supported the PSP (and plan to in the future), I think you owe it to them to do an extra good job in promoting them.

  • kind of disappointed that there’s no ps1 title on the drop this week. when is parasite eve 2 supposed to drop???? i haven’t flipped that in a while, and i played the **** out of 1, and i wanted to do a PE run before i started 3….

hey, when is sony gonna get on the ball about PSN releases with new titles. I WOULD LOVE for MK to be downloadable on day one. i love digital downloads (especially with my 500gb), but how am i supposed to support it when new titles are for “select few” psp games, and 2+ year old games (infamous, prototype, ME2, split/second, granted last 2 are 1yr old)

  • Will Free Realms cost monthly? And how much will the game itself be?

  • A Back To The Future episode is being released? Wow, what’s the occasion?

Seriously, I love the game, but the release schedule for the episodes is pitiful at best.

I’ve been dying for a circuit racing game (preferably NASCAR) that provides a career mode similar to that of NASCAR ’07 on the PS2. Hopefully this new NASCAR game will do the trick.

  • Moon Driver, Mass Effect 2 DLC and Free Realms are on my list. Looking forward to this weeks releases.

  • Is this MAG Demo the same one that was given to PS+ customers?

  • Mag demo is now public?! :)

And @4, it is actually extremely hard to port PSone games onto the PS store, as many problems come up. It is not something that can be done in a matter of minutes, and it is not easy. Here is a very interesting article about it:
    http://www.psu.com/Sony-lifts-lid-on-why-some-PSOne-Classics-wont-hit-the-PS-Store–a010542-p0.php

There are many legal issues when it comes to PSone games, since they are so old, and rights have been sold and bought. Then theres huge bugs which simply can’t be fixed, or would cost too much to fix and wouldn’t result in a profit.

Sony would love to bring all the PSone games to the PS store, but it simply isn’t possible.

  • This is a very strong week for releases. I just wish I wasn’t so swamped with my backlog of games. Need to play Mass Effect 2 again, LittleBigPlanet 2 keeps calling my name, Enslaved wants my attention, Dragon Age II and finally (but not least) Tactics Ogre on PSP.

This year is going to completely kill me.

  • @62

the Ico + Shadow of the Colossus remasters were confirmed (here on the blog, too) months ago. Just waiting on a release date now.

  • For PSP
    Dragon’s Lair – $7.99
    WWE All Stars – 29.99
    3rd Birthday – 29.99
The Legend of Heroes – 29.99

  • Cant wait for WWE All Stars! Demo was great!

  • i know this question has nothing to do with the article but can you please help me answer it i saw GOD OF WAR 3 at walmart and on the cover it said PlayStation Move Compatible via online update i bought it and some reason it is not working is it because it is not Compatible or is it because i am doing something wrong thank you for your help =)

  • Looking forward to this week. Free Realms FINALLY for the PS3? Glad to see it, but used to playing it in short, occasional bursts on my PC. Doesn’t seem so laggy on our new PC, but the old one my wife and I had… Ick. Also, looking forward to picking up the 3rd Birthday this Tuesday. Looking forward to hearing what PSOne Classics that may be released as well(Please let it be Parasite Eve II, Threads of Fate, or Chrono Cross!!!).

  • 75# GOW3 has no move support.

  • This drop is off the hizzle fa shizzle you people whine too much a Playa like me never whine I’m too playa for that

  • Seems like a good update but I hope we get Parasite Eve 2 soon

  • thank you for telling me that+ kivi95 i wounder why walmart had the game saying that lol

  • Why Sony Release Old & Boring Games Digitally MAG & Split Second? Why You dont do the same has you did with mass effect 2 release good games in the store like Crysis 2,Rainbow Six Vegas 2,Metal Gear 4 Uncharted 1 &2 Resistance 1 & 2…..Etc and plz Release Mortal Kombat Or Socom 4 in the PSN Store Digitally & Crysis 2 as soon as possible.

  • Rey

I would like to suggest a store section for retail released games on the PlayStation Store. Currently I have to sift threw both the PSN Titles to find the retail game I’m looking for. It would be much easier if I could just find the section for “Full Retail Games” and download from there.

    Thanks

  • More …. More … More Mass Effect. I can’t get enough.

  • Great update but no Parasite Eve 2? This was the perfect week to launch it seems to have missed the mark.

  • The fact that I bought Split/Second brand new for $10 a couple weeks ago and they’re asking $29.99 for it on PSN is a perfect example of why consumers want physical media to survive the rise of digital distribution. :)

  • Where are the turbografx games? My choice ps1 classics: Star Wars Rebel Assault II, Pong, Williams & Atari Arcade Classics, Namco Museums

  • Good to see the Third Birthday finally being released. I still have to save up some money to get that, along with Parasite Eve from PSN. I hope you guys get Parasite Eve 2 on PSN as well. I’ve never played any games in the series.

    T_T

  • Why is Sonic available for the PS3 PSN but not for the PSP. I understand that the PSP is going to be dead, but C’mon.

  • NASCAR and Free Realms for me.

  • @ray or anybody that can answer this will free reals be cros platfrom with PC and MAC users that sall i wanna know for this week’s drop update thank you!!

  • I am very happy Third Birthday is getting a PSN release. I will be buying it tomorrow :)

  • Stunned that it took this long to release a public demo for MAG.

Was so interested in that game, but they really insulted their customer base by using the demo as a carrot-on-a-stick for Playstation Plus.

  • I thought the echochrome ii demo has been out for a while now. Is this a new demo or a typo? Thank you.

P.S. That 3DS looks pretty groovy…too bad the launch titles suck….. When can we expect the NGP to launch?

  • So, no new stuff for Playstation Plus subscribers this week?

  • I know someone asked this but it wasn’t answered. Will people that buy 3rd Birthday through PSN also receive the Dissidia 012 costume? :). I’m anxiously waiting for the release and already pre-funded my wallet :).

  • Hey Ray,
Just wondering about Back to the Future – my wife and kids (13 & 9) love playing that game – if we purchase the game, we’ve paid for all of the episodes? Or are we paying one-by-one? Thanks!

  • looking great!! ill have empty pockets again this week!! lol

  • So, when does PS Select start?
