Yesterday, I shared with you a sneak peek of our latest ad featuring Kevin Butler and the soon-to-be-released Gran Turismo 5. I’m back again today to give you the first look at an exciting Kevin Butler holiday double feature—two new ads which will begin airing tomorrow.
With Black Friday just one week away, we are preparing to kick off the start of the traditional holiday shopping season. Retail stores will fill to capacity with tech-hungry shoppers looking for the year’s best bargains. While some can navigate the mass of home entertainment options with ease, others may find it overwhelming. We know that many of you who read the PlayStation.Blog already understand the incredible value and unmatched features of PS3. But some consumers are still educating themselves on different gift options and not everyone fully understands what an all-in-one home entertainment powerhouse the PS3 is, much to Kevin’s dismay.
In addition to including one of the best Blu-ray players on the market, and boasting a deep and varied line-up of exclusive must-have titles, PS3 also provides free access to PSN. This means you and your entire family can dig into thousands of your favorite movies and TV shows, enjoy some of your favorite sports, and benefit from an extensive selection of downloadable games. As Kevin points out, combining a world class game system with one of the “sweetest” Blu-ray players around is nothing more than a match made in entertainment heaven.
While these ads showcase the incredible value of both PS3 and PSN, that’s only one piece of what makes the PS3 the perfect gift. In addition to a list of blockbuster titles for PS3 that includes Gran Turismo 5, UNCHARTED 2: Game of the Year Edition and The Sly Collection you will also be able to add PlayStation Move to your cart. PlayStation Move has already shipped more than 1 million units in North and Latin America alone and is primed to bring the family together in the living room this holiday season. With a large selection of PlayStation Move games, from gritty favorites like The Fight: Lights Out to family friendly titles such as EyePet, SingStar Dance and Start the Party!, PlayStation Move is the only motion control solution on the market that provides a precise and engaging experience with games that everyone on your holiday list will enjoy playing together.
Whether you’re a last minute shopper or a Black Friday deal fanatic, we hope PS3 and PlayStation Move are on your list of must-haves this holiday season!
Best,
Peter
Dear Peter Dille
I hear you’re the guy who gets things done at SCEA.
Can you get a premium avatar of this Kevin Butler photo made?
flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/sets/72157625295601559/
And yes, it should be premium or a Plus exclusive. Kevin Butler’s iconic image is far too awesome to be given away for free.
@49 you are a moron
Both ads are superb, especially the Gaming+Blu-ray one. But, just one observation : You should have included MOVE on the “Family” commercial. This was brought to my attention by the words of Mr. Dille in this article, and it should have been in the ad. Missed opportunity there for such a great commercial, what happened? Did you filmed that one months ago before Move was announced?
KB’s next project…
Something that rhymes with Mittle Fig Janet
It only does more than 8.5GB of storage
Lies! PS3’s browser doesn’t support facebook. I think it must be the php.
love it, Playstation ad campaigns have really come a long way
lol at the peanut butter and chocolate
Sony always wins baby!!!
I love KB!!!
Can I get the picture of KB from the blimps as my avatar?
The US Kevin Butler commercials, and some of the weirder Japanese ones, are great.
How come the producers of the UK advertisements have yet to develop a sense of humour?
lol i love it!!!!!!!!
lol oh my god. the second one was freaking hilarious. strawberries!!!!!!
Great ads!
Maybe Sony should offer reduced prices on all Sony made BD movies; some people won’t convert until BD prices are more commensurate with DVD’s.
Also, it would’nt hurt to partner up with other companies more often…I see Xbox360 all over the place, on Burger King commercials, various product giveaways, etc…
Oh and KB rocks!!!
actually ps3 doesn’t do everything sony!!! it doestn’t play ps2 games
Ah Kevin Butler. “freakishly happy fake TV family” LOL. I want a DVD collection of all the Kevin Butler ads when this campaign is done. “strawberries” KB is such a freak.
This has been a great ad campaign. Thanks for sharing these new commercials with your fans here on the blog!
yay for KB and the holidays!!
Hilarious…Keep them coming. KB FTW!
The amount of awesome in these videos is just outrageous. I’m pretty sure Kevin Butler makes life what it is today.
You can do Facebook, but it’s filled with all sorts of problems on the PS3 browser, and will never look as good as on the ad!
Also, I’m jealous of the boy playing LBP2!
PS3: It only does everything but make sandwiches.
hahaha. she smells like strawberries, I love strawberries!
hahaha.hahahahahaha.
KB is back! Very great commercials as usual! :)
Now that was some great commercials. Especially the second one. It shows more of what the ps3 can do.
Great commercial but…
2010 PS3 holiday lineup: Needs more games
Great ads
but, id have to agree with #53.
‘She smells like strawberries!’
nice!
Awesome commercials can’t wait until next year’s. PS3 is going to have one good holiday season.
great commercials , but i would have to agree with another poster here . it shows her on facebook , but it doesnt show the ps3 freezing up,and her rebooting . it’s still a bit of a reach for sony to claim that the ps3 does facebook even though the photio gallery can post photos and trophies/stories get posted . The commercial however clearly showed her using the browser … which is just unthinkable . Now sometimes i will and about 50 percent of the time with regret . i dont dare try and use any of facebooks functions ,that’s just looking for a freezup . Is this a precursor to a browser upgrade ? i just find it hard to believe sony would feature something mostly broken in a commercial , without some sort of plan to fix it .
a perfect gift would be dbz tenkaichi tag team for pspgo
but sony sucks
Why is there STILL NO gifting on the PSN like with the Wii… Do you not realize how much potential is there? It’s such a SIMPLE thing to do given your manpower…
????? video not available????
ok refreshed and one loaded…what is up with Viddler?
There they go…KB you are my hero =)…I bet you smell like Bacon…delicious bacon
Excellent work, once again. I love my PS3.
It only does gifts for the whole family…..
But it still doesn’t do cross game voice chat!
Sony Need’s to make a cheaper version of the ps3 how about a 60Gb for 250?
that was awesome
Peter, why these new videos are not for download in PStore?
Please Sony, dub this commercials in spanish and remove inmediatly the freak babies, those commercials are an insult for gamers :(
XD
Too bad they haven’t posted these in the PSN video store yet. I like to have KB on my XMB!
I think you’ll find that the PlayStation Store does NOT do gifts, family or otherwise. That’s too bad, I would’ve spent some money on my friends.
Oh well, I guess Nintendo supports gifts.
