Everyone at United Front Games and SCEA are extremely exited to finally put the game in your hands. I’m here to give everyone a quick peek into some of the features and content available in the ModNation Racers PS3 public beta.
In short we are giving you the ability to race, share, download, remix, rate, and most importantly create. Everyone with a beta code will have our state of the art creation tools at your finger tips. We’re absolutely stoked to see the Tracks, Mods, and Karts the beta community will create.
The public beta will include three tracks from the full game Farm Frenzy, Market Run and Sandstorm. There are a couple of race options included in the beta as well. In addition to playing online with up to 12 players, you can compete for the best lap times in Time Trial.
It’s home on the firing range here on Farm Frenzy. Drift and shortcut your way through these meadows, but look out for the sheep! Especially if you dare to take the jump off the barn roof.
The desert oasis in Market Run (left) looks calm from the outside, but the action inside is anything but. Crash through the crowded alleys to max out your weapons and pull out 720-spins on the big wall jump to build up your boost. In Sand Storm (right) Deep in the heart of the desert, this off-road race winds through rolling dunes and treacherous cliffs. Try not to break a sweat as you explore the many paths through the buried ruins.
The next area of the game included in the beta I would like to talk about is the ModSpot. What’s the ModSpot you ask? It’s the central hub area in ModNation Racers you load into once you download the beta. Everything takes place in the ModSpot. It’s where you can meet up with your friends or make some new ones. You can also view, rate, and download the top rated Mods, Karts, and Tracks as well. Lastly it’s where you launch into the Creation Station where you can create your own Mods, Karts and Tracks.
Remember, in North America the ModNation Racers Public Beta will run from today, December 18, through January 10 for everyone who was lucky enough to procure a beta voucher. If you already have a voucher (Did you pick up LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year Edition?), fire up your PS3 and redeem your code on the PlayStation Store to get in on the action. If you don’t have one, you’re in luck – the PlayStation.Blog is giving away a few hundred today! Keep your eyes peeled to the PlayStation Twitter feed and Facebook Page today for details (If you’re unlucky today, even more Beta vouchers will be given away on Monday!).

I really hope I can get a code. I didn’t get into the LittleBigPlanet water beta, I didn’t get a code for the God of War 3 demo, and I didn’t get into the MAG beta until about a week before iit ended.

Well from the playstation twitter blog it says that some codes will be coming soon from the playstation facebook blog soon. It might mean that they are going to narrow down the codes to their facebook page.

Sony makes me so mad, releasing fifty at a time only and even giving the beta out this way is stupid, within a minute of them appearing they were all used. It’s so frustrating to be refreshing these comment sections, sony’s twitter, their facebook wall, and their facebook contest page all day long only to have my oppurtunity taken away from me before i could type in my first code.
well ShaperOfWorlds you could be worst off like myself. I actually was one of the first 6 Retweeters of 50 and still never got my code. Can’t DM or complain somewhere where they’ll listen

One of the worst part of this code giveaway is that it forces you to type in tons of codes as quickly as possible in order to get in the beta but if you make a mistake in the code (which you’re likely to do since you’re trying to type so fast) you get a ban from trying to type in a wrong code(error code 80023156 which i think is used to keep people from randomly typing in codes trying to get free things). This is the equivelant of occasionly throwing a box of sandwiches off one random side of a building, seldom telling which side you’ll throw them off next, to a group of starving people who usually love you and if they take a bite of the sandwich incorrectly somehow they chip a tooth. It’s fan injustic, Sony, and it’s totally uncool.

You get onto your PS3 and log into the Playstation Store. At the top right area is an option to redeem codes. Select that and enter your code :)

gah, how long id that code ban gonna last? because after i type in all these codes now, i still want to be able to type in other codes laterr
Im pretty sure the ban last at least 24 hrs, but not much longer than that

So far 2 sets of codes where listed on facebook, and i still havent got a code to use. they keep coming up as invalad.
I dont want to sound mean, but there has to be a better way of getting codes to ppl, like even sending out codes to some ppl that signed up on the modnation website that didnt get squat.
Codes are going out too fast. i got there as soon as they codes were put up and i still didnt get one
So far it is an excellent game. The biggest problems I noticed so far are connectivity and freeze up. The game seems to freeze up a lot at loading screens. As far as connectivity goes it seems after every race I have to reconnect for some reason. I do not have that problem in any of my other games. I am guessing that the servers are not up to speed yet.
Missed out again, all codes used in a couple of minutes :(

Well, good luck all. Because i have to goto work soon and the codes end up getting used up in mear seconds of being posted means im mostly going to be out of luck getting a beta code unless the devs have a better way of giving out codes for some of us to get them.
I signed up on the Modnation website and all i got was a ps3 theme. You would think that they could send out more invites to ppl that acctuly signed up at their website.
Mear minutes? damn those code are all gone in a few seconds.
Missed it again… sigh… i really wanted to play this too…
