Just started download… finally. It might be worth $10… if you forget about what I payed for the game in the first place and the gameplay up till now.. then it might be worth $10.

socom is one of the best game out there. still better then call of duty and mag made by zipper.

I love socom. I think its because its more of a older gen kind of game and not a little kid game. To me call of duty is more of a arcade style game and is good for all of the adhd kids……..pathetic!!!!!!

To me Slant6 have done a good job of recreating Socom for the PS3,it still has that same atmosphere and the maps do look great.
My problem with confrontation & why I have never played or bought it (apart from the beta) is that Slant6 ignored the FPS view that Zipper have always included in their games. This to me was the single biggest senseless & idiotic mistake. I have used the FPS view through 3 iterations of Socom, and anyone who knows the difference between FPS & 3PS will understand how that can drastically change the game.
From old Socom friends I understand there are a number of problems with the game, but look at it like this….. What other game out there offers what Socom offers? The character movements, lean/peek etc.
As already stated, if you don’t like what Slant6 have done then don’t play the game…just as I have refused to do. But to rubbish every little thing is stupid.
Lets hope however that Zipper make Socom again, but with their traditional FPS view at the very least. An aim view would be good also…or even if the view could be adapted like in MGS4/MGO. That would surely go a long way to please the old Socom FPS fans.

how do i install the cold pack
First, I have found /6 guilty of not only releasing a game at least a year before it was ready. Then, /6 refused to answer to those who laid down $60.00 or so for a game that was a disaster, /6 fault and refusal to answer, 2 gross sins. Next I have this to say to the guys who play the game. When someone like myself, and I admit to being one who is not great at the game, but wants to play and is willing to learn, but you guys who play regularly have control of all the slots and what is open, those who want learn the game, not having played it more than 2 or 3 times when it first came out and gave up on it because it was a disaster. If a guy is learning, and doesn’t perform up to snuff, you will vote him out just as he is learning the game. How about letting us have a learners game, available to those with very low, or no scores, where we can play against each other and learn, without a bunch of A#sholes throwing us out before we get a chance to improve? How about a beginners site? I wait for as long as 45 minutes to get on with the lowest scored guys I can find and am thrown off after 5-10 minutes. Bad enough the game was a screwup for this long, but now noone can learn from scratch on the improved game.

i kind of think slant 6 is cheating with cold front- europe wont get it till jan 7th and as made obvious to me earlier- on night maps espcially if your a sniper (mainly) u are pretty much getting screwed-lack of visibility and some players having equipment not yet available to the rest of the ppl (thermal scopes for example) i actually dont think i will get this till they lower the price tag to like £5 and even then i might not get it for the blatent unfairness…

I would just like to ask a very important question relating to your ColdFront DLC. Im an American living in Japan. I want to know when it will be available to us? Playstion Network Japan will not answer my emails, phone calls, or post probably due to the fact that I dont speak, write, or read Japanese all that great. From what I hear from ONLY MY AMERICAN buddies, the DLC is lots of fun. BUT NO ONE IN JAPAN HAS A CHANCE TO EVER FIND OUT JUST HOW FUN BECAUSE YOU PEOPLE CANT SEEM TO GET ANYTHING RIGHT.
Now, if you could kindly find out when we can get the dlc, and email me at [DELETED], I would be a very happy American living in Japan, getting screwed by my own country.

according to the link i posted europe wont get it till january the 7th
so until then european (and worldwide players) will have to play at a disadvantage against american players (ie no thermal scope)…
as for japan didnt even know this game went as far as that (havent seen a japanese server)
u could probaly try to download it from the american store- but it might not work so meh…
well there ever be any more update for socom confrontation after the 1.60 an the DLC??

HELP! I.ve downloaded the new coldfront map pack but don’t know how to install it into the game? shouldn’t it do it automatically
Huge Sony fan for years, ie., tv’s, all playstations, etc. but Confrontation was a real disappointment and I feel like Sony shouldn’t charge for the Cold Front addition.
new maps/weps are cool…but MAG will be where I’ll be at soon. =)
