Shut up. People are allowed to have opinions FYI.

And IMO, this update was not as awesome as I expected. I’m not saying these guys at PSN dont deserve a break every now and then, but honestly, after 2 weeks you expect more. No demos is a shame, and no PSP titles, Videos, and overall a lot of empty categories.

Looking forward to next week with Skate 2 demo. Hopefully more developers will let demos on the PS Store. Lot of great games out with no demos.

  • I would like to register a complaint that you (and MTV/Harmonix, I suppose) raised the price on those songs without any notice. When you first posted about them on Dec 4, you did not state that the $0.99 price was temporary, though you have announced such temporary prices in the past. I even posted a question on this blog asking if that was the case:

    “Fane1024 | December 4th, 2008 at 3:35 pm

Are the prices on the Rock Band songs permanent or only for a limited time (as some of the $.99 prices have been)?

Also, is this a sign that future songs will be available at a reduced price (which would be AWESOME)?”

…but got no reply. I could find no indication anywhere that the prices wer for a limited time, so I held off buying any of those songs.

I’m not complaining that Tempted will now cost me an extra dollar; I’m complaining about the unprofessional service on the blog.

Note that you DID say that the Mercs 2 DLC would only be free for a limited time; that’s the kind of service I expect.

Also, what’s with not posting any message last week or in the preceding update notice to say that there would not be one between Dec. 23 and today?

    GET ON THE BALL

  • This is definitely one of the worst store updates ever. Especially after not having one last week.

  • Very weak update and the other console got the skate 2 demo today, PSN has to wait till next thursday.

  • Pretty average update for the new year – where’s the Valkyria Chronicles DLC!!?

  • Why sony why?
    No love for the psp?
    Once again a crap update..
Who im the world run’s the PSN(NA)?
Because I want the people that run either the UK or JP store. All these bloggers can do a better job than you guys. Plz don’t go nintendo on us and release 3 games per update.

One of the fualts for the psp downfall is those damn homebrew. I hate homebrew.
So why cant you take legal action against them?

  • @97, actually a point I wished they do. Does Sony assume we’ll blindly buy games because the blog said to buy them? I guess when you hype some Super-Eletro Car Racing whatever and it is forced to drop it’s price within 2 weeks, a demo might have been in your best interest first.

  • SCEA’s 2009 resolution for the PS store.
-daily updates(Japan and Asia have been doing this for 2 years. This way PSN can keep up with the latetest content)
-Faster DL speeds(the PS store isn’t taking advantage of my fast connection like my pc and 360 can. Also the DL speeds are random).

  • @101

That was my post!! Sorry, but I meant to say @80.

  • I’m so getting Mahjong.

  • I’m interested in the PSN games, but no Savage Moon and nothing at all for the PSP??
    Weak weak weak update.
Also, how bout some demos for the PSN titles? I’m not dropping $10 on something without trying it first.

  • wow Sony must have done nothing in the past month, got wasted over the entire vacation time and just piece together this update.

    Epic Fail for 2009.

  • Post holiday update should mean double content, not half *ssed attempt Mr. Morell and Mrs. Chen.

  • Wow some of you are a perfect example of what a community shouldn’t be. Some of you really show your age.

Downloading Qore update now and Mahjong is looking interesting from what I’ve seen in the preview.

  • no demos…no Resident Evil 5… cant even use my kill zone 2 demo code… someone is sleeping behind the wheel… I remember when PSN was great… now its dieing…sad….so sad…

  • hmm well im downloading Qore, but thats pretty much it lol

just wondering, is there going to be any easier way to download Qore for us subscribers? instead of scrolling threw all of our downloads?

  • more indiegames would do good

  • When is the Resident Evil 5 demo coming?

And I hope the next Store update has the new FFVII Advent Children trailer.

    -Alex

  • I have plenty of things to do with my PS3 so I am not going to complain that their isn’t enough content this week but I do have suggestions/improvements that NEED I repeat NEED to be made!!! and that is…

    – All PSN games NEED demo’s.

Like other’s have said we aren’t just going to blindly buy PSN games.Video’s just aren’t enough. It may take longer but make that MANDATORY just like trophies for games in 2009.

    – All DLC should have video’s that show what they do

The video’s should be just like what the LittleBigPlanet MGS was, that is a perfect example of how to do it.

    – All Home Content in the Mall needs a Preview Feature. (Also Mandatory)

When it comes to clothes we need to see what it will look like on our avatar & furniture & items for Home need to be viewable within our Homes themselves. For example I was going to buy the Festive Tree a.k.a the Christmas Tree for Christmas but I decided not too because not only was the description vague but I didn’t know weather this festive tree was a small tree you put on your mantle or a big tree you put in the Center/Corner of a room for Christmas. If it would have had a preview function then perhaps I would have put down the $$$.

    Post to be continued…

  • Finally all movies and TV shows in the store should have trailers viewable for them. This isn’t as important as the other two improvements above but it would be more convenient then having to go on a computer and finding a trailer online for the movies/ TV shows we want to rent or watch.

So for 2009 I think you guys need to work on improving your Preview features so that people will feel better about what they are buying.

  • Sony needs to start making sure all Downloadable content that comes with Qore is downloadable VIA Qore(preferably the same day Qore goes up).

The whole beta code thing is nonsense. Tons of Qore purchasers and subscribers are and have had trouble getting the emails and their is no quick and easy way to get subscription issues resolved.

Their should be a “Subscription issues” email address to contact, instead you have to go through Sony’s phone or Email customer service who don’t appear to have the ability/authority to resolve Qore issues.

  • low update.. where is LBP high cost costumes?
    xD

Thank’s for the Red Bull :D

  • Terrible. Absolutely terrible. People over Sony, you are showing us how you don’t want us to be happy with our console. At least with your PSN support.

Where in this world are the Rock Band songs remaining?? Yes, you know which songs I’m talking about… Those songs by Roy Orbison that went out many days before on XBOX Live…

Great job guys. I’d say keep it up…I’d rather say stay away. Watch patiencely how you lose your fan base because of Region discrimination and no propper PSN support.

    I’m deeply disappointed.

  • Jeez people! Read! It’s a post-holiday update! Of course it’s going to be dry!

Whine whine whine! Where’s the pacifier when they need it!?

  • It makes you wonder why the other console has so many mature players/commenters compared to Sony’s/PS3’s…

  • ***

I typed “many” when in fact I was thinking of “some”.

    Just to get it straight.

BTW, the fact that gets me upset is the Rock Band matter. I hope we won’t be behind XBOX Live forever…

  • Quite pumped to check out Qore for the Killzone 2 info.
Sadly though, unless this ridiculous notion of treating demos as “exclusive rewards” is done away with I won’t be purchasing any of the titles that pull such crap.
If a game has a demo, that demo may be the only thing that sells your game. Restrict someone from accessing it when other people can, and you’re likely to lose that sale to another title.
Even with my Qore subscription I don’t think I should get demos earlier than non-subscribers. That’s just lame.

  • I see a few comments complaining about our complaints but honestly from a company standpoint they should realize that users feel like we ‘missed’ an update and therefore should put in a little extra effort to compensate. It’s not like ALL last week was a holiday, one freakin’ day that most people don’t even get off and it HAPPENED to be thursday. I would have been mostly content if we even had a regular sized update but this is gimped.

  • Qore is not letting me download the Fear 2 demo. Is anybody else having this problem?

  • Glad I got the Mercenaries 2 DLC while it was free..downloaded it 2 weeks ago..perfect timing :)

  • OMFG, *5* Pantera songs? But why oh why are they for Rock Revolution? ;_;
Rock Band needs that. And Tool. I’m tempted to buy Guitar Hero World Tour instead of RB2 just for the Tool songs.

  • NVM about the fear 2 stupid question. It’s going to be available on the 15th. What’s the point of including it with Qore if it’s not available right away?

  • 2 weeks for that !

  • @130…. Umm maybe because game publishers decide when they want their demos to be available regardless of it being a Qore exclusive. If the Qore release doesn’t coincide with their scheduling…it won’t be available ASAP. Not hard to see.

1 week too long for you to wait?

  • When will the next PULSE Edition come out?

  • When is Wall-E coming out for the playstation store to buy??

  • @132 Clinton514
The point he is making is. Qore is a video Magazine and demos/contents should be available to download the day the Video comes out and not a week or two weeks later.

That like buying a new car, but having the dealer ship the keys require to start it weeks later. It is a joke I tell you.

If Qore isn’t going to be release with the Demo/contents that is promise, then don’t promise the demo/contents at all and just make it available for everyone to download.

  • This is an update?? Sony where are the demos for games to come?!?!?!? This is not a good start for 2009 and to top it off we had to wait two weeks to get this.. Please tell me that this is not the real update that we were all waiting for please say it ain’t so..

I depend on demos so that I know what I am going to buy. I list them all on paper from the must have to the not so important. Without any demos I am lost.

Now this update was VERY dissapointing. I just hope that there are better updates in the VERY NEAR FUTURE.

  • Am I the only one who thinks Sony is slowly fading down Sega lane?
    /sigh

here’s to the rest of the year maybe we will eventually get some more stuff that’s worth actually buying.

But please guys don’t take it out on Grace and company. They only tell us what they are told to tell us it is not their fault.

In closing /comfort grace hold your head up and keep on keeping on.

  • @135, I know what he means but it just doesn’t make sense to complain about it in my opinion.

Qore launches first week of each month, waiting 1 week for it isn’t that much of an issue. I think some people are taking this “promise” thing a bit too far. It’s still premium content that we subscribers will be getting before anyone else.

  • What happened to the Roy Orbison songs for Rock Band?? I thought it was scheduled for today’s release as well?

  • So we get a flash game they won’t admit to. And our other game is yet again something that has been free to everyone a million times over by now.

    :(

  • IGN.com Savage Moon Release Date: January 8, 2009

I knew LBP DLC wasn’t coming until the 22nd and that it would most likely be a small update but at the VERY LEAST they could have included this game!!!!!!!

I have been checking all day so I could buy Savage Moon! Sony – Please release this tonight or Tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats all I ask and I will be patient.

  • I really love Mahjong, and I used to play a flash version of Cuboid for hours. Shame there’s no demos, I might have purchased if there were.

  • Harmonix is saying the Roy Orbison songs are slated for next week because of the holidays. Funny, Xbox didn’t have that problem, they got the tracks on Tuesday.

  • I’m with everyone else who’s complaining about the DLC being a week behind. Sorry, but as a paying customer at the PSN Store, I find this unacceptable. Why can Xbox 360 owners go on and download Roy Orbison for Rock Band and the new Country Track Pack on Guitar Hero: World Tour, and I can’t? Should I have picked up these games on the 360, instead?

  • well can’t expect much from holiday binges. but a couple of questions..a)will psp ever get trophy support? b)i wouldve loved to have the resident evil degeneration theme on my psp..is that possible? thnx guys keep up the good work..

  • @ 132

I pay to get that demo early. So spare me your sarcasm. All I’m saying is that if it’s not available for download at the same time as Qore. why have it up like it’s part of what I just paid for.

  • My god what a terrible update.
Where are all the demos that compete with all the content on Xbox Live, all the PS1 games to compete with Virtual Console?
Don’t get me wrong, I love my PS3. But the lack of effort and support from Sony for PSN is depressing.
2 Weeks and only this? Come now Sony you can do better than that.

  • OMFG I JUST SAW THE KILLZONE 2 BALLET VIDEO CLIP!
NOBODY IS GOING TO FCUK WITH US IN 2009!

WHETHER KZ2 SELLS MILLIONS OF COPIES OR NOT. IT DOESN’T MATTER TO ME. KZ2 IS A PURE SHOWCASE PIECE FOR OUR CONSOLE. I’M SO HAPPY COULD CRY RIGHT ABOUT NOW. SONY HAS FANILY SHOWN THE WORLD WHAT THE PS3’S FUTURE WILL LOOK LIKE. AND IT LOOKS SWEEEEEET! THIS IS THE YEAR THAT ALL 28 MILLION 360s RROD SIMULTANEOUSLY.
    ; ;

Sorry for going off topic but after watching that video and sending the link to countless friends. I’m a little excited! lol
