As promised, we’re delivering many (most, really) of the videos seen at today’s PlayStation E3 press conference to the PLAYSTATION Store for your enjoyment.
As announced at the event, the video download service will hit the store tonight, and will *not* require a firmware upgrade. Recent PSP Firmware v4.05 also enabled compatibility with the video service, for taking TV shows and movies on the go.
As far as video of the entire press conference is concerned, we’re working on converting that video now, and will post it on the Store when it’s complete, so you can see everything we showcased today.

@45 MGS4 won’t be going to the 360. It could only be done if it was on like 9 DVD’s. Not to mention, I doubt it’s hardware could handle it. Kojima already stated it will never come out on the other console.
Guys, please shut up abotu FF 13. It is ONLY FF 13, MGS4 WONT GO. Just shut up and be happy abour everything Sony showed and everything they are doing. When other games went to Xbox 360, FF13 STAYED! SONY WAS DOING SOMETHING RIGHT! Blame Microsoft! He pulled out the checkbook! I just had to get my little rant out.
As for E3 and the updates, good job Sony, and despite SOME people can’t deal with something, we are happy of the update.

RPGs are classic and it was games like FF7 that helped create a name for sony and maybe turn based is outdated yeah but excuse me for loving a good compelling story with possibly talking animals and fanciful magic spells.
and say all you want about us having better systems(which we do) but if the market share says more software sells on 360 then thats where software will be made.
This is most defenitly the year of the PLAYSTATION 3 im going to be downloading alot of movies from here on out

Fairly disapointing E3 imo. Nearly everything talked about/shown this year is stuff we’ve known all about for a while (some as much as 2+ years). Almost no announcements of anything new. NOTHING for the rpg fans either. The stuff mentioned is interesting yes, but its not news.
Where was the WipeOut HD love in the press conference?

I personally loved the sony press conference. It announced God of War III, Ratchet and clank Future: Quest for booty (lol), MAG, the video service, ect… Great job sony!
It also seems like the whole trophy business is going to very optional. Jack Tretton didn’t even say much about this new Trophy system. He just kind of brushed it under the rug with a small comment.

Well, for FF, It was a last minute decision to support 360, so unless they push the release back a considerable bit, it would be reasonable to assume the 360 version would appear rather half-baked. At least, that’s my assumption.

Thanks a lot for a horrible E3. After being a Sony loyalist for so many years, I’m finally starting to lose confidence. And thanks for that 80gb PS3 at the 40gb price that some of us kicked in at for MGS4 when it came out(since the only place you could get an 80gb MGS4 bundle was on ebay for only $100+ over retail), yet another throw of dust in the face. If its announced that it’ll have PS2 BC, that’ll probably be the straw that breaks this camels back in faith of this console.
Damn it lol, I checked before I had to go to classes tonight and only had a chance to download Fallout 3 trailer…figures while i’m at work ALL the good stuff is on now lol. Gonna be a late night for me :)

Yeah…whatever. Gives us something in the RPG genre!!! A PSN game, a new trailer, a demo…SOMETHING! If Sony isn’t gonna get more RPG’s from third party devs, why not produce some in-house? The demand is OBVIOUSLY here, what’s the hold-up? No minds creative enough for a deap storyline and strategic menu-based combat, just brainless Shooters, Racers and Fighters?
P.S. – Sorry guys, just a little peaved about the lack of my fav genre. If I liked Shooters as much as you do, I’d be loving the PS3 right now.

@Neo #75, the 80GB does not have MGS4, card readers, or B/C as far as I’m aware. They said it was a 40GB, with an 80GB hard drive.
So you actually did, if you paid at retail, get a deal with the 80GB MGS4 bundle. 60 dollar game plus 15 dollar card reader plus 25 dollar B/C sound fair?

by the way you RPG fans who claim ONLY RPG’s have deep story lines, have you ever played Resistance? Shooters have story’s too, and they have storys without magical dragons and wizards :)
My favorite part of the conference was when Trenton announced the new 80 gig SKU. It’s amazing that they actually think that the reason the 80 gig version was selling best was because of the extra 40 gigs. I mean it’s so damn obvious that its because of BC and yet they still can’t figure it out.

so when you download a movie onto your pS3 and then want to copy it to your psp does the movie data downsize and the quality to? cause i notice some movies are between 1-2GB
and allot of user probaly have around 1-2GB pro dou stick.

If you could read I said I own a 40gb, and MGS4 plus a DS3 put me over $500 with tax to purchase. I said the bundle was impossible to find in my area unless you wanted to get ripped on ebay for it (which I didn’t do.) MGS4 was great but I would have waited a couple months for a hard drive thats twice as big for the same price, with the games I’ve got now I’ve got 9gb left.
Jack made one mistake during the time they show the Movie service. The forgot to add tax to the movie purchase. =\

i definitely want to see the press conference in full when its out on PSN.. from the live blog, sounded like a good showing.. naturally, some people are cynics and complainers, so, nothing ever pleases them.. but to me, im sure it was good..
and excellent week for the Store with all the new videos and whatnot.. looks like some great games in the near future for PS3..
tho, as with many others, i do hope we will see more RPGs… thats a genre thats seriously lacking on the PS3.. and even the PSP as far as im concerned.. would be happy if FFVII, VIII, or IX were playable on the PSP… tho i dont like having to buy them again since i already have them all for the PS1…

The only reason to be upset about the loss of FF13 exclusivity is if you bought a PS3 over an Xbox 360 based on Square Enix’s previous statements that FF13 would only be on PS3.
However, you’d be silly to have done that. FF13 is not coming out in North America for a long, long time. If you bought your system to play FF13, you could have waited until it came out and probably saved a couple hundred dollars, not to mention the fact that you’d get a system that runs quieter on less power.
