  • I just -had- to buy Wildarms! Being able to play it on my screen and then take it with me is so cool, and that Ratchet and Clank theme is wicked awesome! The custom sounds for it was a really classy touch and I hope more official themes in the future keep with that!

I really hope there are more RPG’s on the way from the store. Maybe a little Final Fantasy 7, hrmmm? =o)

  • Looks like a good update

  • sony Wher is home beta weve been waiting so long and u said it would be out by now

  • PS3 Bowling Supports Custom Soundtracks, TimeShift Adds In-Game Messaging

    Nice update :)

  • HV Bowling allows for In-Game Music playback (restricted to files stored on HDD)

  • thank you for finally bringing a classic rpg to the psn store.

please continue to put out more good classic ps1 game and we will buy them

  • @ paulracer (103) Nice attention span you have there. It’s a BETA. We’ve all been waiting for the full version. I’d really like them to focus more on that than getting us the abridged version. And I kind of doubt you’re anxious to give them useful, constructive feedback.

Way to go Team PlayStation! This update is a killer homerun! :) I freaked out when I saw Wild Arms in there. I freaked even more when I saw the R&C theme. When I actually got the R&C theme up I couldn’t stop smiling! And there was good news for the European Store as well- they got several themes- a HS theme, Motorstorm theme, and apparently a theme called “Mesmerize.” This was a job extremely well done! And of course, I got those Folklore add-ons as well. You guys have made my day! Thank you!

  • @ Jeigh(107) Before insulting someone, make sure you know what you’re talking about.. We aren’t “all” waiting for the full version.. Phil stated that a Open Beta will hapen late Nov early Dec.. Paulracer(103) like many others in this blogg are just like the many in the Home forum. We want at least some time of confirmation if the Open Beta is going to happen early this month as stated.

  • Honestly, I’d still like to see a Lair demo, as I haven’t bothered to pick it up due to the overwhelmingly poor reception.

But they could all be wankers, as far as I know.

  • Sony, Please I mean PLEASE bring the PSN cards to US. It’s not that hard like the in-game XMB pleaseeeee. I’m missing way to much content thanks to that and not only that…. I can’t buy anything from my games like the add-ons.

Please SONY HURRY UP AND BRING THE PSN CARDS TO US ASAP.

  • Ok i’m a person that like to buy game, those psp/ps3 games are really good, and those ps1 games look really good on the psp they are perfect, but when are you guys going to put the good the best games there? you know Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy 7,8,9, Parasite Eve 1,2 and lets not forget Xenosaga, those are soul of the ps1.

  • Ok i dont want to complain but i’m running our of Harddrive i know the ps3 is using those Laptops hardrives and i would like to put a new one with out erasing everything is in there why not sale some cable or something to move the stuff into a new harddrive on your ps3

  • Awsome update!……Is what i would have said if home beta was in it. But it was not, and unfortunately its the only thing i want see when i open PSN.
Yes the content is cool and if HOME was out already like you said it would, Id be praising you guys up and down. But its not and right now its all i and many others care about.
Like others have said, If its so close to open beta launch then what is with all the secrecy?
All i’m asking for is some sorta answer.

  • Yes, Sony bring out those PSN cards. I know your stance on that is `We don`t have plans at this time`and I know its BS. You showed them at E3 `06, now get it done! You could be making so much more money.

  • GOOD JOB SONY!!!!!!!!!!
AS EXPECTED THE DEMO FOR (TIME SHIFT) DOESN’T WORK. WE DONT GET THAT MANY MULTIPLAYERS DEMOS AND THOSE THAT WE GET DONT WORK.
KEEP ON THE BAD JOB. YOU ARE GONNA OBLIGATE EVERY ONE TO SELL THEIR PS3 ON EBAY AND GET AN XBOX 360. AND I HATE XBOX BUT IF THAT IS WHAT IT TAKES TO PLAY ALL THE GAMES THAT I WANT AND DONT HAVE FOR THE PS3 AS WELL ALL THE DEMOS AND STUFF THAT XBOX HAS AND YOU DONT. THEN…………………………………………………

  • Sony, you will win this generation in the end, in part because you respect your customers enough to keep free what other companies charge and penny pinch their customers for (MS cough cough) – namely themes and free online play. Keep it up and great week!

  • i love my killzone 2 theme. i realy do :)

  • Yay! update, Uncharted Theme!!!!! AWESOME!

  • hell yea uncharted theme is great

  • @104 – WillIaM
I’m surprised more people didn’t notice this. It’s slow, and sluggish. But it’s there! That’s what everybody has wanted. Of course none of my peeps were online at the time, so I couldn’t really use it.

Too bad the online experience for that game needs a lot of help. Clunky, slow system for getting into a game when there are other games where it’s nice and easy getting into an online game. Single Player demo was fun, but I don’t think this would be a game I’d play online. Perhaps the final release will be better, but this was kind of lackluster.

GoGO In-game XMB. Perhaps we’ve been complaining about this and it’s the game developer that has to do the work and it should have been available all along.

Thank you, THANK YOU for some more masculine themes. I like the sounds the R&C theme tosses in as well. When will we be able to create and/or share our own themes?

  • Didn’t anyone notice that Rock Band has in game messaging, and access to your XMB friendslist, you can invite, accept invites… the whole deal. I haven’t heard anyone commend that…

  • woo hoo. Big update. not lots of stuff for me but ill take the themes and MGS4 video and stuff.

    Time Shifter Demo works too.

ummm. To all the people crying about the Home Beta, its been out for over 6 months now. You just didnt get chosen. Quit your crying

  • Sony: Please lower CDN prices to the same as in the US store.

It seems that the EU prices are the same as the US prices, why are they artificially high in Canada? (the dollar is about equal)

  • MGS4 TGS 2007 trailer!!!! Thank you soooooo much!!

  • I have to admit, I enjoyed High Velocity Bowling a great deal. A very good update this week.

Any news on bringing Beats to the PS3? That would be amazing.

  • I find it weird nobody has noticed that you can access the music on your hard drives in High Velocity Bowling. =)

Just thought i’d let you all know. Press select at any time after you get to the menu or while playing.

Just further proof that it’s up to the devs to implement it but just haven’t. I want it just as much as the next person. Especially after getting a good taste of it all day today with HVB.

I don’t see how it’s much of a problem to implement it into every game already released within a patch, whether it be directly through each game, or bundled together with a future firmware update(for those of us who don’t have an internet connection all the time to update individual games). And then just make it a standard with upcoming titles.

It’s really simple, either have the select button be held for like 3 seconds to bring it up in the case of match stats being select in CoD4, or have the PS button held for a few seconds. It’s more than possible, it’s been proven, only think left is to actually do it.

I think almost all of us would be happy enough with music and message/invites/friends access and nothing more. I have a feeling this post will get deleted quick, heh. But at least i’m defending this time. =)

  • Is anyone else having issues with the Timeshift demo. It wont install. Ive downloaded it 3 different times and none will install i just get a error message.

  • when will music and films be on the store?

  • any special reason why europe didnt get pain or high velocity bowling along with a whole lot of other things

  • Geez- when will you people learn?

SONY is the best company EVER, and you should pay whatever they say for whatever amount of content they want to give you!

In fact, for every game I buy, my boyfriend donates another $20 to Sony!

  • I fail to see why anyone even asks for anything anymore…when will you people learn that no matter what you ask Sony for YOUR NOT GETTING IT!!!!!!!

you’ll get HOME some time next year when someone lights a fire under someones ass until then YOU GET JACK!!!!

look for in game msgs in like 2-3 yrs…sooner or later everyone will realize that no matter what you do or say….you only get what Sony wants to give you…

look for the actual games to upscale to 1080 resolution by like 2012!!

basically the PS3 will be competitve by the time MS releases their next Xbox…cuz is Sony went any f’n slower they would be going in reverse!!!!

  • @ Loucifer – you need a hug buddy *hug*

If you are really as ticked as you let on in this blog go get a 360 then, problem solved.

You are just frustrating yourself by complaining like this….there are more important things in life to get so bent out of shape about other than in game msgs.

  • @130
    Clever, but that’s not me.
How can you tell? They said “$20”.
    I’m Canadian. We say “20$”.

And why is everyone splooging over themselves for Home? It’s really buggy now, so why does everyone want something that’s broken? I guess people are running out of stuff to complain about, so…

  • This is a pretty nice week for the PS Store. Since Wild Arms is finally here, how about bringing Suikoden (or even better), Suikoden II?

    Keep up the good work!

  • Awesome job with the ratchet theme, uncharted was alright but it lacked cool new sounds. Are we ever gonna see any new visualizers for the music player? Other than that I really want is a better selection of PSOne games.

  • Whats up with the timeshift mp demo…..Its the only demo we get and it doesnt even work….Another disappointing update….Will download the bowling game once it gets online, otherwise nothing to buy or download…except trailers….

  • People, if you just ignore Loucifer, he will eventually stop. There is only so long somebody can talk to a wall. Let him “hate” the world

  • @jm
You have to uninstall the old demo if it’s on your console, but TimeShift demo works for me.

Anyone else find it amusing that even with 2 full games, demo, bunch of add on content, GTA 4 trailer, etc. people still complain?
Anyone remember the updates for PS2? No? That’s because they never happened. What more are you expecting? I was around for the “Nancy Drew” updates. Those were disappointing.
Any new content makes for a good update, IMO.
If it’s for something I like, even better.
Expect nothing and you’ll never be disappointed.
Either that, or get a life since the one you’re currently living, where you’ll only be happy if “x” comes out, obviously ain’t makin’ you happy.

  • Good call on WildArms; I’ll definitely pick it up when I start buying games again in January (there’s so much to play already plus Christmas is coming soon). That being said, I’ll reiterate my request for Intelligent Qube and will definitely buy it as soon as I know it is available, regardless of my self-imposed moratorium on game-buying.

  • Nope not impressed I want xmb music player in my games with being able to chat without having to leave an online game! Wake up Sony! and whats the deal charging $9.99 for Pain and High Velocity Bowling?..You copycaters from Wii!..Wow thats using your head not!..Where is your creativity SCEA!

  • @Danger-x
HVB has in-game music player, proving that it’s up to the developers to put it in. Complaining to Sony about that is like complaining to them about demos for third party demos – it’s not something they can do anything about.
Oh, and I didn’t know Wii invented bowling, nor did I know that they had anything similar to PAIN. Well, I guess you learn something new everyday.
As for creativity, I guess you haven’t heard about any of the games from the indie game scene like flOw or everydayshooter. You should check them out – more impressive to see the development of games like that than the milk-tacular library that’s on the VC.
*hugs to the dumb troll* Nice try, douche.

  • Good call on Wild Arms. I love it. Keep bringing the old school RPG’s to the PSN because I missed out on a lot of them.

Also, please bring MGS1 to the PSN. I’ve played 2 and 3, but I missed out on one. I really want to play it before MGS4 comes out.

Also please give us a little more content for $9.99. I was a little disappointed that pain only had one level and one extra character that you had to unlock. I would have been much happier if there was just one more level

  • Fantastic content push guys. :) Am I the only having trouble installing the TimeShift multi-player demo though? I may just need to redownload it.

  • In-game music video I posted on youtube. check it out if you’d like.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5-YrC5VKcw

  • @Kain-Xavier
I mentioned it earlier, but if you have the old demo on your system, make sure you delete that and any of the cache files if might have created before you download and install the new demo. I had the same problem as you but that fixed it for me.
    Good luck!

  • Cool at least Sony’s hopefully changing there ways with Xmb music player nice!..maybe I should now get it both of them?>.lol.Thanx for telling me more about those games Download yupe definitely now since you told me more information! =)

  • i downloaded the timeshift multiplayer demo and it has an error when trying to install. anyone else having this issue? is it going to be fixed?

  • @147
I’m having that same problem. I downloaded TimeShift Multiplayer and whan I try to install it sat’s “error during installation.” Sony, is this going to get looked at and resolved? Not sure what the deal is, but it would be nice if a good copy can be reposted.

  • Thanks Solace, ima uninstall the old 1.

Also I complain because Sony should learn from their competition and mistakes.

The XBL Marketplace is so much better and its free. (I dont own xbox, but friends that own, and i saw the Marketplace and it has way more stuff than PSN) and its free….

  • hey sony i have a suggestion regarding Japanese gamers not liking to use their credit cards to buy psn content. why not create a card with a special number, similar to that of a credit card. anyone in japan can sign up free of charge. have the card mailed to them. from there they can go online and add funds from their bank account via online bank transfers. this will reduce the fear of anyone accumulating debt. i understand u guys have recently released prepaid cards but i don’t think that solves 100% of the problem. if you allow people to add funds to their card from home, then it will definitely make an impact and psn sales in japan will increase without a doubt. GL….
