In the face of evidence held to be true, some people choose to remain ignorant and bask in the false knowledge and misinformation they hold to be more gospel than the truth.

Sony should offer downloadable PS2 games just like the new service Microsoft is implementing
yay, psncentral…
I’ll have to keep a tab on that site, I like the design
The internal QA done by the developers is rudimentary, Sony does their own when they recieve the demo, MS does too, its an approval process that all demos and full games have to go through, its to make sure that it’s not gonna destroy the PSN/Live servers.
You are both full it, the games are ready to play from the developers. Its true for the 360, PS3 and PC. How exactly would a game destroy the servers? Is it going to do a service attack and crash them?
You have your backpack and homework, cuz you’re about to get taken to school.

Specifically, read the part about “Compliance”.

Hehe, Solace++
Anyway, just wanted to say the Toy Home demo was quite atrocious. Even after I got used to the Sixaxis steering, I had to delete the demo because of the incredibly awful framerate, jeez if any demo needed more testing, that was it. I have never seen a worse performance for any game on ps3, demo or otherwise.
Oh, and the Battlefield: Bad Company trailer made me LOL too, that game looks great. ;)
Toy Home is not a fun game. I can’t wait until November 23rd. Mass Effect! No, just kidding. Although I will be buying Mass Effect, I really can’t wait for Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
just fix 2.0 please.. thanks
Solace
Oh please.
Standards testing is to insure that software is up to hardware specs like HDMI and doesn’t crash the CPU. Occassionaly software specs like “Is it 3D?” are used. The brunct of testing is put on the developers to perform. 1st Party console makers go through it to make sure everything is up to spec by playing the game and putting it through logistics programs. This can all be done inside a single day or two.
Jaggies, framerates, slowdown, screwed up sound, screwed up mechanics, controls, glitches etc are left to game testers with the devs group. And there is a long list of games that get through standards checking that are buggy as hell and require patches.
You could update the store on Tuesday with just a demo of Haze and I would be happy.
Simstim,
How do you know it only takes a day or two?

Unbelievable!!
EU released the PS store update list for the coming month and they have not released a single thing of that list!!!!

Nice work on Toy Home, my wife had a blast playing the demo…..so there goes $10 bucks I was gonna spend on beer.
Pretty fun little arcadey game, perfect for the six-axis control steering. She was flailing around and having a great time. She thought it was really funny when the toy car flips and you have to use the six-axis to flip it upright again.
(FYI – I’ll still go get some beers)
Great update overall, and cool that we get one a lil earlier next week!
that toy home game is very fun, i will definitely purchase it when its out, also, i got the skii game and i like it as well, any chance of more maps coming???
Sony, please give us more PS1 games. I have a PSP now and I’d really like to play the classics on the system. You can make inroads with the “hardcore” crowd if you release PS1 RPGs like Xenogears, Suikoden, Suikoden 2, Wild Arms, Alundra, Arc the Lad, etc… (some of which are already out on the JPN PSN!)
Is the reason these games aren’t being released in the US is because you have to work out deals with US publishers in addition to developers? Let us know!
FOUND ERROR:
Under the description of the PSN video, it lists the EyeToy as -the- method to use for video chat.
Shouldn’t this be Playstation Eye and EyeToy?
BTW – Any idea when we are going to get an updated Web Browser? Stinks that I cannot view any videos from the Official Playstation website using my PS3. It would be nice to have the flash / java updated to the latest available versions.
Grace,
Thanks for the update. Excited that the next update is Tuesday next week instead of Thursday. That’s awesome. How about a nice Thanksgiving surprise like Puzzle Fighter for $5? I picked up CAC when it went to $5 and would certainly pick up Puzzle Fighter.
Thanks.
Guys, please be nice and don’t eat poor little confused simstim. Sup solace? Battling trolls here AND at ps3fanboy.com? Full time job huh? lol. Well if you don’t do it who will?
Cool upgrade, although I was a bit annoyed at the Dark Knight trailer, slight waste of my bandwidth :P
The Ratchet themed interviews were cool. Sony, can’t you do more videos like you’ve done with Insomniac and Naughty Dog in the future? It’s nice to see the people behind the games (espically the Naughty Dog people).

lol @ Solace!
funny stuff!
At one point i think he said he actually invented the internet! lol!
Can we have more PS1 games?
With such a great PS1 library available, you’ve got to have a few more titles you can toss up!
FIX THE BROKEN REMOTE START FROM FW 2.0!!!!
it doesn’t work right, it causes the ps3 to restart on its own and then stop responding to attempts to remote start,
its broke fix it!!!
Whats with the PSN video? Lol if we have a PS3…I would think we don’t need a video to make us realize that there is such a thing called the “Playstation Network”
In game XMB
@simstim: sony devs DO have to test the game all the way through, and make sure they complete everything they can do in the demo completely, because for all they know:
1. the files can cause bricking a ps3
2. the demo could be a title screen, and a “the end” screen
3. there could be an unlockable [DELETED] clip in the demo
and sony are having a hard enough time keeping the ps3 at a half decent selling rate as it is, i doubt anybody there would go “nah, lets leave it for next week, we’re fine” anyone with a [DELETED] brain would do everything they can to get sales up, especially when they are on the bottom every time.
Good Update ,but I’m still waiting for the Resident Evil 5 release date or demo
It would be awesome if we got the Home Open Beta for next Tuesday’s Update.
You could even market it for Thanksgiving saying:
Come HOME for the holidays with PlayStation Home.

fix all the bugs in 2.0!
#131 is right, can we have more PS1 titles?
The first WarHawk would kick ass!
Toy Home Demo
This game would of been more fun if you had the option of sticks for racing. Flying is fine with sixaxis… moving a rubber duck in a tub is fin with sixaxis but the speed at which you race and only having sixaxis is ridculous.
I could not steer the car to save my life.. the sixaxis is fine for flicking the toy car back over though. I thought that was well implemented.
I will not put money down on a game that I can’t control and would be frustrated with every time I tried to play it. The game really does look like fun. If you can add the option of analog sticks for steering then I would most likely get this game.
Happy B-Day PS3!!!!!!!!!!!
Blazing Angels 2 SUCKS!!
Good update overall :D
@ rogerjak
At least its not an exclusive, that would be embarrassing, I bet the guys at sony were like, aww man we have to put this crap up?

Also
is there any future plans to add PS2 greatest hits to the download line up of PSN games?
It seems a logical extension with most models having good PS2 compatibility?

Hi everyone. Just to let you know, we’ll be updating the PS Store next Tuesday, instead of Thanksgiving Thursday.
Im not sure if i understand you. Do you mean that the PSN store will be updated on Tuesday the 27th? (2 days before Thanksgiving thursday) Or did you mean that the PSN store will be updated NEXT week on Tuesday the 20th? (9 days before thanks giving thursday)
And if it will be updated on tuesday the 20th (9 days before Thanks giving thursday) will we recieve an update the actual week of Thanksgiving? Or will we recieve the updat next tuesday the 20th and be left with out an update for 16 days until December 6th?
@ritterrav
Thanksgiving is on the 22nd not the 29th. And we will be getting our update on the 20th.
Glad I could be of assistance. **logs back into warhawk**
