Given all the content and interest here on Lair, I figured you guys would also be interested to hear that the North American version of Lair has completed its development and is now in manufacturing! That means that we are on track for our August 14 release date. It goes without saying that we’re eager to get this out to those of you that have been waiting so patiently (or not!) for it to arrive. Considering the new PS3 price and now Lair, hopefully there’s even more of a reason to scoop up a PS3 if you haven’t already!

For us, there’s still a bit of work to do, as we have localization to finish up for Europe, Japan, Korea, and more, which will all hopefully follow very soon. Once those are out, our leaderboards will truly be global, and then we can see once and for all who the best Lair players are out there! The gauntlet has been thrown, and North American players are getting Lair first, so don’t give that advantage away…

We also have some great updates for the official Lair site that will be live soon, so keep an eye out for those …

You got to understand, that Microsoft helps the third party developers with the online component of their games. like a Live team or something.

Sony? not so much. developers are on their own with PS3 games. that is way pretty much every 360 game has better online features. At least that is what I read some where. correct me if I am wrong.

Dead Rising was somewhat buggy on the 360. To the point of them addressing it on their website faq sheet. I think it ended up being the 17th most asked question? or something like that..

Not sure if my unit is dying or having a harder time coping with gaming in the summer but Gears of War and Lost Planet crash much more than Dead Rising did.

I make a point of only buying used games for the 360 so that in my small way i don’t actually support the console.

Guess it could be worse though, multiple lawsuits are starting to roll in about the 360s appetite for eating discs. I’d be really upset if i picked up a game and couldn’t play it because it got worked over by the 360s crappy drive. Naturally Microsoft has stuck its head in the sand and is pretending said flaw don’t exist.

  • I can’t wait until August 14, I have been really excited about this game since I first saw it.

Flying Dragons with my SIXAXIS oh man it is going to be so cool.

  • My pants just got a little tighter. I can’t wait for this to hit shelves.

  • ps 3 is the beast

  • everyone wants a demo, me too so we can get a feel of the game

  • If development for the game is complete then why can’t we get a demo! Hopefully next week.

  • It takes time to put out a demo. I bet they have concentrated on getting the game ready, but now they can work on a demo.

Going by that screen up there this is the best looking game ever. All this in glorious 1080p with 7.1 surround sound.

  • This is great I want this game.

  • Why can’t it be released everywhere at the same time instead of north america first, i hate it when they get a head start.

    Boo hoo ;>)

  • Can’t wait i just pre-order the game

  • Already got this on Pre-Order cant wait to pick it up.

Also nice suggestions if they will incorporate Dragon Armor later on on PSN.

  • I was asked to submit my forum post here on the blog. its about adding a calendar function. heres the thread: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3&thread.id=1750067

check it out and leave a post if you like it and to sony. hope u like the idea and can make it happen!

  • Please promote this game heavily. I really want there to be a sequel

  • haha I gt my 70 bucks in my piggy bank for this one lmao…

  • EGM gives it some of the worst scores to date for a next gen game. 5.0, 5.0 and a 6.5… WOW! I knew any game with motion controls only wouldn’t be worth a buy. I was really looking forward to this…. Oh, well, Heavenly Sword and Warhawk are due out within a month of this let down. Moving on.

  • excuse me where did you even get those scores? last time i checked it wasn’t reviewed yet, so quit pulling random things out of your butt dipstick

  • The new EGM, where else? They’re legit scores, dipstick… Deal with it. It’s also all over the net now. I wanted the game to be good jsut as much as the enxt guy, but these developers have to realise that 64 bucks and some change for these games is asking a lot of the consumer to invest. Even more so when they turn out like garbage.

People complain that the PS3 has low attach rates for games… Well, make some good ones worth my 64 and it wouldn’t be as such.

  • show me the link….

  • ehh ill wait until i picked up the game before i listen to egm if thats true

  • wow, what a disappointment, if heaenly sword sucks too im done with this system

  • @gamesblow

The one thing I have not seen is a scan of the Lair review from EGM, not even on NeoGAF where this review “news” first popped up. So, until someone can provide an actual scan of the page or a link to one, it’s complete rubbish and should not be trusted at all.

  • hald is a dumb geek

  • ouch, that hurt

  • I need a demo before I decide if it is worth it. Heavenly Sword sold me with it’s demo so Lair has to do the same. I hate the demo load times, though… Wish there was a magazine that came with PS3 demos…
Sigh… anyone else miss the U.S. OPM?

  • Wait for IGN and GameInformer reviews. EGM has always reviewed inaccurate for me. Also, FYI, Play Magazine gave the game a 9/10 and GamePro gave it a 7.5.

  • its kinda weird that wii games get praised for using motion controls yet lair gets knocked for.

i wonder if factor 5 will release a patch for analog controls to satisfy people.

  • i can’t wait for this game.

  • Still getting this game, as I’m sure many others will. The average consumer won’t be basing their purchase off one single magazine review.

  • ademahopeless777

great game, im saving and working my a** off for that game, i have an hdtv to pay but i really have to make exceptions with that game!! jeje…demo plz? :(

  • I feel the developers need to answer to this one… I really do. They released an inferior game at full price and expect us to buy it. What a joke. Just because they think motion controls are a cool idea, doesn’t give them the right to think everyone will.

I find it rather selfish of them to make the game rely only on motion contol and not even offer up a defaul control scheme… That is about as seperated from your consumers as you can get. Incognito was cool about Warhawk. They saw we didn’t like Motion only and gave us a slew of customizable juncets.

    I won’t support Factor 5 now.

  • Oh, by the way, these scores have offically been confirmed by EGM themselves on their website. Maybe next time Factor 5 will think twice about sending a rushed print of their game to EGM for review… Or maybe next time they’ll realise that just because “SOME” morons like waving their arms around and looking like idiots with wiimotes and sixaxis controllers, not “EVERYONE” does.

As a matter of fact, a good % of gamers don’t. They like to sit back, relax and play their games like normal. Like the xbox 360 allows.

  • gamesblow, you do realize that EGM probably did not preview the final polished build right? And do you also realize that IGN, GameSpot, and other places have given positive previews about the game? You haven’t even played the game yet so why don’t you decide for yourself and not blindly listen to one publication’s opinions on it.
