  • ugh. And yet they still want to squeeze more money out of the players as if they need to…

  • Every month in our office, when the monthly sales charts are released… The same questions keep being asked… Who doesn’t already own GTAV, because we can’t work out who is still buying it ???????

    • I don’t own or want it, but it’s allegedly for the microtransation cards that come with it or something. Though looking at the chart it’s filled with older games, like Minecraft or the Witcher or even that Fifa.

It also might be skewed by the sales numbers not being that high.

If you take some of the constantly “top 20” games, like HZD and consider that their total reported sales aren’t really that high, you can kind of assume you don’t need many sales to get into the chart. Something selling a few thousand copies might be enough for top 10 even.

    • You need to count new owners of console, they buy GTAV coz its “must have” and its cheap, singleplayer was fun i liked it on ps3. And i dont think couple thousand sold copies will grant you spot in top ten on Europe market.

    • Its not too hard to figure out. The PS4 sells averagely 1.3 million units a month since Nov 2013. So there are PLENTY of people that don’t own the game on PS4 alone.

  • great you separate charts like what US did this month for “Free-to-Play”, “PS VR” and “PS4” sections!

  • It is crazy though that what, five years after release (?), GTA is still top of the chart. There’s never been anything like that before, madness. Can’t deny its a great game, though. Hopefully they’ll announce 6 soon, or better still, a RDR remake in the second games engine.

  • Stop buying GTAV or they’ll never release GTAVI

  • Wow..I must be in the 1% of the world who doesn’t actually play (or like) the GTA series…(well not since 2)

    • Hey each to there own my brother. Completely respect you for saying that, there’s people out there that hate the Godfather or Terminator 2. Sometimes it can be a taste thing without necessarily dismissing the merits if said product or IP

    • Aye. Not detracting anything from the games at all. More impressive is how they keep improving on the previous versions – something a lot of companies fail to do.

To make the topspot still shows what an achievement GTA V is. Just never floated my boat…but Rockstar ain’t gonna starve on account of not getting my hard earned :-)

    • I just have GTAV for the online mode cos it’s fun with friends. BUt even then I haven’t had it installed in ages. I didn’t care for single player at all. Better than GTAIV but just not my thing at all.

  • Someone remind this game that it was released almost 6 years ago.
