Boosting your Power level, new armour sets and more detailed for Bungie's shared world shooter

I’m Lars Bakken from Bungie, here on behalf of the entire team that worked on Season of the Drifter. We can’t wait for you to jump in and experience everything we’ve created for this new season of gameplay and rewards. You may have seen the videos from our reveal, but there are some crucial details that will give you a leg up on the competition.

1. Boost your Power to 640

On day one of ‘s new season, you’ll find the Drifter in the Annex near Ada-1. If you didn’t maximize your potential in Season of the Forge, he’ll have a fistful of bounties you can use to accelerate your progression to 640 Power. These bounties will send you many destinations to experience action in everything from Public Events to the Crucible. We think it will take you a few hours to get caught up to the rest of the community.

2. Build the ideal Gambit Prime teammate

There are four new combat roles for you to discover in Gambit Prime, and each of them has a specific armour set with perks that will equip you for each. As you earn these armour pieces, you can become the master of a specific role or mix and match them to invent a whole new combinations of strengths. The Guardian you bring on the field in Gambit Prime can be as unique as you are!

  • I gave up last year. After spilling £40 on a game to go free on plus, a decent expansion and then 2 lame add ons it’s not worth it. Roll on D3 hopefully with more meaningful content at reasonable prices.

  • I am loving destiny since forsaken dropped. The black armoury was a bit disappointing but still fun. This new drop looks great. I have only played one game of gambit prime but it is even better than og gambit. I am glad I can level up my other characters fast because time constraints have kept me to one character so far. I haven’t touched another game on my ps4 for ages. I certainly haven’t bothered buying anything. Hopefully when d3 comes we won’t have to wait a year for the game to get good like the first two.

  • After 4 years of D1 and D2 I am thoroughly burnt out on Destiny. The raids of Forsaken are disappointing and unreasonably mechanical – compared with the likes of Crotas End, Vault of Glass and Kings Fall which were so much fun. PvP is overly sweaty and give the casual player no chance. The over reliance on clan groups also works against the casual player. The Gambit format was ok but became exposed to exploitation by the usual suspects. It’s gonna take a lot of persuading to get me back there. Hopefully D3 is something to look forward to.

  • It’s even more money grabbing than before. Bungie are even worse without Activision. Most of the stuff you try click says you need the annual pass. It pops up about how great prime engrams and the new bounties and modes are, then says annual pass that costs more than a year of PS+ required.

Bad enough having the black armoury nag there every time I go to the tower. Puts me off playing the game altogether.
