A few words from the PUBG HQ Team in Korea

From Koo Sung Jeong, PS4 Lead Project Manager:

“One of most memorable moments while developing PS4 PUBG was the first time we had 100 people join a test match. Before the test, the dev team’s mission was to deliver the finished product this year – it was a big challenge and it felt almost impossible. But as soon as we had 100 people drop in for the test, our confidence started to build and and we pushed ourselves harder to make everything happen. We are proud of the game we have created and can’t wait to get it into your hands!”

From Changmin Lee, PS4 Engineering Lead:

“It’s always exciting and tense presenting our work to the players as a developer. Getting our game into the hands of the PS4 community that haven’t experienced PUBG is a thrill equal to creating a new game. Everyone on the PS4 dev team have worked passionately on every single moment of the game to create a perfect experience for our players – we hope you all enjoy your journey on getting a chicken dinner!”

As we prepare for the official launch on 7th December, be sure to stay up to date on the latest news at our website and social channels. The team here at PUBG have worked tirelessly to bring our unique Battle Royale experience to this platform, and we can’t wait to start this new journey with you.

  • Might have left this one a little too late…

  • WOW! I’ve never read that amount of [DELETED] in one article. Even the mightiest X can’t handle the game properly. Get ready boys for an ultra cinematic 12 fps experience!

  • The question is, however, is it too late? Personally speaking, I would have been really excited about this a year ago, but having played a bunch of Fortnite and even PUBG on mobile I really feel like I’ve had my fill, and am not the least bit interested in this. Add to this the amount of other battle royale games released or to be released over the last year and beyond, is there still a place for PUBG on PlayStation?

I can’t be alone with these thoughts, and surely any exclusivity deal they must have had with Microsoft will have worked out less beneficial for them in the long run considering how many copies they’d have shifted on PS4 if it had come out at the same time as Xbox.

Just my uneducated guess on the matter, but I don’t think I’m far wrong.

  • I am so enjoying The Forest that I gave up on H1Z1, etc but I will give this a try on launch day, December 7th it is then.

  • Xbox loses another exclusive

    • It was never really a exclusive considering it was on PC before Xbox and has since been released on mobile and tablets. Xbox only has a few exclusives due to most of Microsoft’s titles being available on PC also.

    • I know, but it was an exclusive on consoles… I know a lot of people that only game on consoles and not on pc and pubg was a big incentive to have an xbox. I also have an xbox but hate multiplayer games so its not for me

    • Pubg was anounced as timed exclusive, never exclusive. PS4 lost exclusive No Mans Sky, Hellblade, Crash Bandicoot etc. In 2018.

    • Those were also all timed exclusives mr whataboutism.

Xbox literally has no exclusives anymore now everything made by MS also releases on PC anyways, so it’s a moot point.

  • How much will it cost ?

  • Modern gaming is just

  • Fort, CoD, now this… sorry, no… Got all this and played about 100+ hours on PC, without paying to play online x)

Make multiplayer free or without ps+ cash-grab…

    P.S.: “Then why U post?” comments ignored… ;)

    • I think multiplayer only games, such as world of tanks and smite are free to multiplay on their own, they don’t require a subscription. Ofc gonna need confirmation about that cause i haven’t played PUBG, neither i intend to, but since you buy the game and it is a multi-only game, there is no point in also paying for a PS+.

    • I’m not talking about F2P MP games. But I’m totaly with this – “but since you buy the game and it is a multi-only game, there is no point in also paying for a PS+”

    • I’d ask if you’re new to modern console gaming, but you clearly already have a PS+ subscription, so I’m wondering what you’re complaining about tbh.

Also, you don’t need PS+ to play Fortnite, as you seem to be implying.

  • Way to late. BR has been over saturated and is getting stale.

Plus.. from what I hear and read, Blackout is much better.

  • Can’t wait seen the YouTube vids looks cool chicken dinner time lol.

  • Too much battle royals this day Fortnite, H1Z1 and now even Call of Duty and PUBG coming to PS4 my friends list is full of pepole playing thosse things and i am sorry i am glad most pepole enjoy it but i would rather play something offline with great story and combat that i want never to end than this things..The only thing i play online this days is Gran turismo Sport and i really enjoy good racing against other pepole anything else doesn’t work for me at all.

  • I got PUBG free on Game Pass last week :-)

    • If you were paying a subscription fee to play it then there was nothing “free” about it.

Oh, sorry… you’d actually be paying TWO subscription fees to play it wouldn’t you? One for Gamepass to be able to download it, and one for Xbox Gold just to be able to start it up. What a bargain.

  • It’s a year to late and why pay for it when h1z1 and fortnight is free… Yea it’s a cool game but really who’s paying to play it so late in the day

  • Call of Duty is far superior than Pubg but I am curious to see how it runs compared to the other console, as i didn’t like it alot. Might wait to see some youtube vids and streams before i risk it unfortunately.

  • Charging the same launch price as it had on Xbox a year ago when there are better quality free to play games available on PS4 that do everything PUBG does but better is quite the spit in the face to a community you’d chosen to ignore until sales on Xbox dried up.

  • I use to play this alot with my friends, but after Fortnite came out with their Battle Royal mode (A faster, more polished and quirkier game) I haven’t gone back to PUBG.

but this game will alway be the game that made me money, got a crate with shorts in it and sold the shorts for $100, the game paid for its self so I can’t complain.

  • The embodiment of everything that’s wrong with games nowadays.

  • Sure will bring a fresh set of eyes to our Discord and Podcast since we have been covering PUBG on the other three platforms for over 2 years. The 4th map coming also should really keep things going
