Fan favourite map Carentan hits Call of Duty: WWII

First details on the returning classic in new trailer

Just a few days after D-Day, the Battle for Carentan took place in France as the United States Army battled the German Wehrmacht for control of the small French town less than 20 miles from Omaha Beach.

Carentan debuted as a multiplayer map in Call of Duty, and a brand-new version of this fan favourite is heading to Call of Duty: WWII. Featuring large exteriors with excellent sniper lanes, and interior areas for intense close combat, Carentan is a map that you won’t want to miss.

Carentan will be available at launch as a Bonus Map for all Season Pass holders, who will also get access to the Call of Duty: WWII DLC Pack, The Resistance, available first on the PlayStation 4 on 30th January.

  • Will be the first COD game I have bought since Ghosts. This is looking good.

  • Looks better than anything they’ve done since MW2 but compared to BF1 it still looks bland. Hopefully there will be more focus on actual shooting skills than on perks and everything. Although I can already tell it still goes by the controls of the latter ones. I miss that responsiveness in controls that COD4 and MW2 did manage to deliver. So I’ve been hoping they can get back to that quality but without Zampella, West and co it just seems like a real long shot. I should probably just give up hope. In conclusion, like all the latter COD’s, this looks adequate in terms of technical prowess and graphics, but still doesn’t come close to when the series was at its height with the original Infinity Ward team. I’ll give it a try on a sale again.
